Hi,

I am not sure if the Resolute Destro has been reviewed yet or not, but I haven't seen one, and since mine arrived today I thought I would share some pics and thoughts.

Overall, when I first saw the images of this version of Destro I knew I had to have it as my modern update to the character. I was underwhelmed with the ROC version when I got him, mainly because of the mask and fairly "large" hands.

The replaceable mechanical arm is a sweet touch. While there was no indication of this in the movie, the torn fabric at the topic of this lends itself to a great scene in which he is caught in some sort of blast and his arm catches fire or something :-) My only concern with the arm is the rather small post used to attach it. I would think that constant arm swapping would easily lead to it breaking off. Then again, this is a factory sample, so perhaps in production it would be sturdier.

The skirt is in keeping with the Resolute Cobra dress code, and just like CC, it is only removable if you separate the torso. (At least I couldn't find a snap or anything on it). It is slit, so at least Destro can show some leg once and a while. I love the skirt on this Resolute version, it gives him a great trench coat look and makes him rather menacing. The boots are nice and tall, with pant legs tucked in. This being a sample, the pants below the knee joint are the same color as the boots, and not painted to match the upper leg.

Paint scheme is very nice, overall it is a nice dark blue, with the red striping, gold braid and silver buttons standing out nicely. Upper body articulation is great, with wide movement for both arms and head. Legs, as to be expected, are somewhat restricted by the skirt.

Accessories are nice, especially the aforementioned replacement arm and the opening MARS briefcase, which not only holds his sub machine gun, but also has a flip up computer monitor. The band of plastic that attaches the two sides of the case is starting to "whiten" from stress after only one open/close, so again I would think that regular use would lead to it breaking. His two pistols are on the small side, but fit nicely into the great holsters on his belt.

This is my first review for the 'Tank, so hopefully this does the figure justice and you all can see the pics. If anyone has any questions, fire away!

Nice review. I totally want this Destro more than the TROC version.

Still don't understand the robotic arm... did Roadblock's rocket grenade injure Destro's arm?

Looks nice. I kinda wish he had that new Destro headsculpt, but that should be easy enough to swap out.

The headsculpt makes this a pass for me.

They had so many Destro heads to choose from and they chose the one we all have.

Nope, no need to break the torso to swap the arm, just give it a good tug. Kind of like the swappable hands on the movie Wolverine/Logan figure.

It'll probably be released with ROC. But who knows!!

Thanks for the review. Nice Destro, but I can live without it.

Man Hasbro should really hurry and release those Resolute figures.

I'm curious as to how you swap out his arm, as the figures normally require that you cut it open before you can do that.

I know this would not be the case on this figure but would like to know how it's done and what kind of arm joint it uses.

Perhaps some pictures would be of assistance.

This is a sweet figure! Definantly a must get for me (as well a pretty much anything Resolute related lol). The movie Destro looks pretty cool too. I may pick him up as well. Thanks for the great review!

according to the last Q & A, no Resolute Roadblock or Destro in 2009.

i dig that briefcase with flip up computer.
i also like hands to be on the larger side.
better than them being too small,
which most 25th figs seem to be plagued by.

What is the deal with the BAT arm?

Maybe it's because it's a factory sample, but the head detail looks alot more crisp than other versions with that sculpt.
I would have liked to see more of the Pilot Destro head, but he's got no ears.

Hi, I have added a pic with the head swap. Not bad, but it seems to sit higher on the neck than the other head.

Speaking of adding pics, how does this Destro look next to the Resolute 5-Pack CC?

Great review by the way, don't feel obligated to post the above mentioned pic. You have done enough already!

meh. my issue with this figure is the same with roadblaock. No upper body. The tinly top torso makes destro look like a woman with a dress on. there needs to be bigger shoulder. and while i like the pilot destro head i think that would not be necessary if the upper body was bigger to make him look more menacing

Thanks a lot for taking the picture. I agree with you, it doesn't look bad but it looks a litte weird because of the neck I guess.

I have one of these left, had more but got rid of them. Its a really nice figure. The robot style arm isn't that great to be honest. If you look at the original artwork it had missles on it...which this does not. Hopefully we'll see this released even if in different colors.

I hope we see him soon. The fig is perfect for a couple of customs I've been trying to find a body for. He makes a pretty sweet Destro as well. :)
