yeah werent these at the canadian jocon convention? pretty sure thats where they are from, they are very cool, i want one.

It's the first I'd heard of these, (I didn't get one with my 2009 Canada Pack, but hey, I learn something every day).

They were made by someone who had access to the factory in China. They look just like the real thing but they are indeed bootlegs out of China.
