I might have a couple of Super Naturals I don't want :)
The 3 big monsters and the vehicles seem to be the hardest to find (cheaply) of the Inhumanoids line. Thinking back now, I do still have to get a few parts and pieces here and there for the stuff I already have. A few are about 95% complete

I got all 40+ comics they had plus a Ironman Heroclix figure they were giving away for free from last years event.
Got a nice Joe haul today from there too all figs were half off so I paid less than retail for them. Got a silver carded Lady Jaye and Serpentor for 5 dollars a piece. Also got a Torpedo and Ninja Ku.

Usually it is. They try to time it so it occurs the day after a comic book based super hero film's release date so its been off a week or so some years. They do this so kids and casual fans amped up from seeing the movie will go to a comic store to pick up a comic of the character they saw Friday night. This way kids and casual readers will get a huge sampler of comics to read and potentially get hooked on another series and start buying it.

I don't collect Heroclix but I did miss getting one this year. Course, the most appropriate one would be the same one they gave out a few years back.

Was a little disappointed in my local comic book shop. I went there with my 8 year old cousin (who I've been actively encouraging to get into comics) and there wasn't a lot of stuff on display that I'd give to an 8 year old with no reservations. The owner said that he ran out of a lot of the free all-ages comics early, but even looking at the list of the official FCBD stuff, there wasn't a lot that seemed readily accessible for an 8 year old (mostly just the same old superhero shenanigans we've been getting for years on end interspersed with "me too" pseudo-indie/pseudo-intellectual fluff). In the end, I just picked up a random Image Comics sampler so our trip wasn't a total loss, and then we just went back to my place where I proceded to dig out some old Larry Hama-written GI Joe comics and gave them to him instead.

yeah, I got the Joe/Transformers issue, Avengers, Star Wars, Wolverine, and Blackest Night. I thought it was cool, soe places would only let you get 1 free, and 1 free with each purchase, the comic shop in the Mall. But the local guys let you take as many as you wanted. lots of kids in there when I was there, that a good sign I guess?

Jeez, I had both of those. I think they're gone, otherwise I'd hook you up for cheap or nothing, simply out of respect for such a cool/ obscure collection. As is, all I thin I have left it's the tree you just got, Tendril with broken light-pipe teeth, maybe pieces of the magma shell guy, and maybe the blue human scattered all over.
My shop had 40% off all toys, so I got my daughter some DC Direct and a WOW figure.
Happily got got myself my first and favorite Joe ever!
Loose 82 straight-arm Snake Eyes minty and complete which came to $18, and worth every cent to please my 4 year old self. It looks great, but it's not like there is any paint to scratch.
No joe/tformers comic to be found.

Thats about the only time i like to go to heroes.Just for their sales they have on FCBD.I got a good chuck of my New mutants collection for next to nothing(a new series is coming out, can't wait).
The reason i hated heroes this year, instead of stacking them out and forming a line to pick them up.They had them placed(very random at that)on the shelves. You couldn't even move in there.
I've been to Ballistic a couple of times, they are out of the way for me.Cool dudes work there and its a nice small everyone knows everyone kind of shop.
I want to go to the con.Money is tight right now.I hope to try and atleast go for a day visit.

I work at a shop and they had a great sale, 50% off everything that wasn't new this week, and anything in the basement (some 5000 comics) were 99 cents a pop. I waited in the half hour long line and when I got there the owner says "you idiot, you have credit." and then gave me a stack of free comics.

I'm 501st and suited up to promote my local Star Wars Fan Club. Had a great time.
Plus, when I was getting out of the armor in the back room of the comic shop I noticed some ARAH Joe parts in a box. I asked the shop manager if I could look around. She said sure, and if I see anything I wanted to bring it up front. I found parts for Transformers, Star Wars, Joe, and M.A.S.K. It was like digging for gold! I brought the box up front to ask her how much she wanted. Get this, she said go ahead and take it to your car for costuming in the shop all day. I know I'm 501st and we normally do "Troops" for free but she insisted. So, I practically ran out to my car before she changed her mind! lol!
I cleaned everything up and kept the parts I needed for myself. The rest is posted in my trade list. Check it out and if see anything you need shoot me a PM.

Bryan Glass (Mice Templar)
Stephen Lindsay (Ham & Eggs, Jesus Hates Zombies)
Lauren Monardo (Ham & Eggs, Jesus Hates Zombies)
John Ruiz (Lincoln Hates Werewolves, Monster Mush)
Lindsay brought some Jesus Hates Zombies/Lincoln Hates Werewolves #2 (4 months early) and got the free book and LHW #2 signed as well.

I was just flipping through a Wizard.I didn't know people get FCBD comics graded.I'm not a fan of grading something you can't read. But,now they are putting a stupid price on free comics?
Problem is, they aren't free. Retailers have to buy each of those free comics.
Then, greedy people come into the stores and think they're entitled to every comic being offered on that day.
Not to mention that the stores NEVER see those people until the same day next year.
The week up to FCBD, the Green Lantern Blackest Night comic was going for $5 to $15 dollars on Ebay. Crazy! Now they go for $2.50 to $5.
Two years ago, the Umbrella Academy comic was easily $20 online. It still holds strong at $5 to $10.
I'm glad that retailers are able to make some coin off of comics that people think are free.
Lt. Faceless
05-06-2009, 05:52 PM
I know that arn't free for retailers.Thats why i give my money to the small guys, who can't afford them by the box fulls.
I don't think retailers would send them in to be graded.I have seen those guys that get comics that they would never buy or read. They just get them to get them.Out of the 20+ books offered,i got maybe 10.
