#2 HoH: FIREFLY

One of the best things about this HoH Firefly is that he is a new construction for the character. Although he has the traditional Firefly head & web gear for 25th, this Firefly is made with Snake Eyes (commando) arms & legs, as well as Viper's torso. Overall though, that makes him shorter than his previous versions & one of the shorter figures in the line... & because of the web gear he still has some minor head constraints. Rather than FF’s well known urban camo, he is painted a sold dark gray here for this release with some lighter parts painted on the lower legs. One of the BEST things about this verson is that he contains ALL of the previous releases gear, which the comic pack “Night Ops” FF had an abundance of. So you get both backpacks original & comic pack's storage version, the goggles, phone, 2 rifles, flashlight, dynamite, wire-cutters, gas can, pistol, & the HoH gold stand. Unfortunately, w/Snake Eyes legs, this means that he has a place for a knife, but does not include one, you can stick his pistol in there but obviously that is a misuse of the holster. Overall a great figure & one of the better of HoH for the different construction & gear alone, but still not as good as the definitive comic pack “Night-Ops” version imho.

I almost bought this one but he's just a lil too dark of camo. If it was alil lighter I would have jumped on it.

For me it was the new construction on Firefly that made him the most appealing out of any of the HoH, both him & the HoH updated Snake Eyes '85, although when I actually received them, my opinion changed somewhat in favor of some of the others...

This should have been the RoC Firefly IMHO, we still haven't got a v1 Firefly in proper dark grey colors. the original is too light, the comic pack has the brown accents so you couldn't even combine the 2s gear...

Yes the new ROC TRU one looks great!! The HoH Firefly is one of the best of the lot as he has a new construction & by far the most gear, so if you are a Firefly fan I can highly recommend him anyway as he is pretty unique!!

I love this Firefly because he is the only 25th Firefly that doesn't remind me of Beachhead. LOL. And I especially love the solid dark gray look... that's what made me buy him... except that his lower legs have some faint camo on them? What's up with that? If it weren't for that glaring flaw this figure would have been absolutely perfect to me. I wanted to replace his lower legs with Wave 1 Snake Eye's lower legs to try and fix that but his ones are a little lighter gray that FF's. *sigh*

Agreed, I actually just canceled my order for the HOH version and I'm now debating whether to pony up the money to get the TRU version on ebay.

this version is alright by me but my only gripe is why a knife holster is included in place of a gun.

I finally opened my HOH Firefly. LOL. I love this figure; I think it is my second fave figure (#1 will always be a tweaked Wave 1 Snake Eyes).

First I had to switch out his lower legs with my extra Wave 1 Snake Eyes lower legs, the slight camo pattern on the original was really bugging me. The Wave 1 Snake Eyes lower legs are a slightly lighter shade of gray, but it is so slight that you don't really notice it.

The major flaw IMO of this fig though is that his neck looks so short because of his webgear. So I just put one of those pads that they use inside the upper legs for the hip ball joints inside his head as a spacer, plus it already has that concave indention (for the ball joint) on one side so it is perfect for the neck ball joint too. It only very slightly raises his neck, but it makes all the difference in the world to me.

Totally love this fig now.

The whole body is painted with dark camo, it's just very very hard to notice except for on the lower legs. But it is there, I promise.

I like the figure but personally I like the comic pack version swapped with the HoH webgear. Then he becomes my definitive version of FireFly...

i have two of them one opened and one customized. he is pretty easy to make on your own though
viper torso and the rest is snake eyes or stalker or whoever has those same parts. none the less i love the fig.

I wish they would have retooled his harness to give a less bunched up look around his neck, I used a SS and Duke Bandoleer on one of my spare FFs to display on my Work Desk Monitor and it looks way better then the one he comes with.

It looks even worse on the SE torso they used for this version because that torso is so short...
