I vote alive. He could have been wounded and slithered away before the place blew up.

I thought he was dead the first time I watched "Resolute." Now, I don't think so.

He's a sneaky bastage. He could have found a way to survive. With all that armor he was wearing, the bullet might not have done serious damage. (just hurt enough to drop him)

Maybe the radiation from the explosion will have caused a mutation that makes his skin turn blue, in the sunlight. :D

I certainly think he survived somehow. They didnt show were he was shot and he had more then sufficient time to escape as Duke and Scarlett were pre-occupied with the HARP.

I hope this is the explanation they use if they continue Resolute. This one works for me.

I watched too many movies and toons growing up. I say he is alive for 3 reasons...# 1, Zartan had a body armor and if he was shot in the back, sure it would have knocked him down. # 2, after Scarlett ran to help duke, his body could have turned invisable and escape. # 3 (which I think is most important) at the begining of the resloute, they showed Major Bludd dead, then Storm Shadow (man..wish he was still alive) body fell back which shows he died but Zartan...all they showed was he got shot and didn't show that Zartan stay on the ground which means he is alive because of reason #1. Anyone agree with me on this one?

I agree with the idea that he got away on that third plank that Scarlett and Duke didn't use.

There are tons of ways for him to survive. Getting on the plane with Duke and Scarlett is the worst. Come on seriously? Like they wouldn't have felt the added weight on the wrench or felt him touching them at some point. He's invisible, not intangible.

That one is pretty bad.

Now it's a russian missile silo. They have these things called bomb shelters. Or he walked off to a plane or any number of other things that can work better then getting on the plane.

Because Duke took a shot off his rib and Zartan, for all we know took one in the spine or the back of the skull or whatever. Duke took his time and aimed...

That said... this is fiction and anyhting could have happened. though if one were to take careful aim from 15 feet away, I doubt they'd miss, and Duke is a trained marksman.

As far as Zartan getting shot goes, i would say he survived. We have no reason to believe that it was a headshot since we had no exit wound or visible viscera in the camera shot. If we assume that he was shot in the torso, the chances of fatality drop even more. The human body is a very resilient machine, and many people survive serious, multiple GSWs every day. All one has to do for proof is troll your local trauma ward. As far as his trained marksmanship, he should have put two safety shots in the back of his skull while he was down. Certainty has more value than 2 bullets. So, i would say he survived the single careless gsw from behind. The real question is , could he have escaped the blast radius wounded? It is possible, i surmise. If Zartan were prepared and had fast transport stashed with an easy/direct escape path to it, then i would say he survived. Only time and popularity will tell.

Cobra Commander was shot in the back by Fred VII and later resurfaced. I am pretty sure of this.

I would imagine aiming an invisible gun would be difficult. Since the optical camo renders him invisible, equipment included, he would need to "De-cloak" in order to effectively aim his weapon. He could use a laser sight, but that would kinda defeat the purpose of using the cloak. So i don't really think he deserved to die solely because he turned off his opticamo.

Plus, he's wearing body armor, and he's an accomplished escape artist, (And can apparently turn invisible.) Zartan isn't loyal enough to Cobra Commander to die for Cobra's cause, just his own cause. It wasn't a confirmed kill because we didn't see his body, like we did with Major Bludd, or the burial of Storm-Shadow.

I really wish he had the voice he had in the original cartoons.

Wow, really? I found his current voice to be far superior. Different Strokes i suppose. I like his resolute character design better than the old toons, and better than most if not all of his comic incarnations as well.
