I'm a huge Van damme fan, I own all of his movies (even black eagle)

It seemed like Steven had a few. I was never impressed with his movies. However, Under Siege is a masterpiece.

I don't want to go too in depth yet, I'll let you guys bring up the movies.

The Muscles from Brussles. Both are ridiculous in a fair portion of their movies, but Van Damme has more movies that I actually like.

JCVD

My favorite is The Quest, I know it's a ripoff of Bloodsport (which is my second favorite JCVD movie), but I just like all the different characters. In BloodSport all we got was JCVD, Bolo, and Ogre

Great surprises were In Hell and Legionnaire, they showed a different side to him.

I can't watch Seagal without laughing because of all that ass hair he has on his head.

i loved out for justice more than any other segal film vam damme is all right i guess i'll vote for segal. one funny thing if anyone has seen marked for death with segal in one of the car chase scenes watch as they drive by palm trees in chicago i think it's a little cold there for those.

I'm not a fan of either, but I'll pick Van Damme. VD may have redeemed himself in the eyes of Hollywood. And welcome him back! His last movie was a critical hit, called JVCD. It's french. The mussels from Brussels can really act. It's a soul burning performance. He should keep making french movies because he sounds more intelligent. His english is gawd awful and makes him look awkward.

For a big comeback vehicle, he should team up with Luc Besson.

Sho Nuff
03-24-2009, 11:28 PM
lol, There's only two good scenes in Hard Target

1. When Willie Carpenter is begging Ted Raimi for help, but he thinks Willie just wants change and Raimi says something like, "I ain't got no money, man". That's when Carpenter realizes everyone thinks he is just a bum, so he decides to die like a man and does.

2. When Lance Henriksen thinks he has disarmed the grenade and you see that little spark and he says his best line every, "Whoops" and is blown to peices.

Glad to see Seagal (currently) winning out. I'm a fan of his wackiness, and his genuine bad-assery, vs. Van Damme's ability to do splits and to dance well:

YouTube - Van Damme On the Dance floor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOIJtS4gbaY)

Seagal's more "realistic" 5 second fights were really the precursor to the modern "Bourne/Batman/Bond" fighting styles.

Also, if anyone is a serious Seagal fan, check this out:

Amazon.com: Seagalogy: A Study of the Ass-Kicking Films of Steven Seagal: Vern: Books (http://www.amazon.com/Seagalogy-Study-Ass-Kicking-Steven-Seagal/dp/1845769279/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237952097&sr=8-1)

It is awesome.

Give me a break!

Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey carried that whole movie, without them that movie is a Peice-O-Shit.

P.S. Anyone could have played Seagal's part and it would have been just as good.

Van Damme starred in the Oscar nominated Street Fighter film.

Steven Seagull just sucks. I honestly think Mad tv's Will Sasso doing an impression of Steven Seagull is better than the real Steven Seagull.

Segal could have been a really good Flint if they had used him when he was younger (he would have to loose A LOT of weight to make that work today) and I would have been first in line waiting to see R.O.C LOL. Vandame could be cloned like that one retarded movie he was in again and he could play Tomax and Xamot! Classic 80s super cheese effects would go a long way with them both in the same movie HAHA

Jesus, is this really a contest? Both their movies suck equally and they both have egos the size of a solar sytem, but Stevel Segal actually earned it. He actually owned his own dojo IN JAPAN! He was the first foreigner to EVER do that in Osaka's history and is a 7th dan black belt in akido (which is 2 dan away from being God).

On top of that, he's done a lot of work for animal rights and the environment. Even fat, old, and out of shape, he could probably wipe the floor with Van Damme.

While the quality of his films has fallen way off (Under Siege being the last one he did that was worth mentioning) Segal wins this in my mind. His fights were way more authentic than JCVD.

However that being said they are movies afterall and the point of a movie is entertainment and JCVD had his share.. i always liked Cyborg and Kickboxer and Bloodsport was good too.

I'll admit that JCVD doesn't have a fight scene that tops this one: YouTube - Steven Seagal in Out For Justice, Bar Scene! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMu2xNBpyQc)

BUT, overall his body of work, including his early 90's action flicks and dancing career, are better than Seagal's movies featuring "insert rapper's name here" or his lame-ass music career.
