View Full Version : Custom Alpine WIP
I just started working on this one and just wanted a little input before I got too far. I pretty much like his overall look, although I did deviate from the original quite a bit I just wanted him to fit my "Joeverse" a little better. Thought he might pair up well with the Hit & Run I did a little while ago. The only thing I'm not quite satisfied with is all the brown I used on the lower half, holster, gators, boots, etc. I wanted to tie in with his forearm guards colorwise but something doesn't look right. I haven't drybrushed anything yet, that will help, but still..... Any suggestions?

i dig it man. not every joe has to be V1 and i like this take.
Thanx xhairs! As I said it looks a little off to me, and I think it's due to so much brown on the legs, but I can't pinpoint it. Suggestions?

I like it man don't change a thing.
Thanx man, but I need some help here, something doesn't fit. Maybe I just need to experiment more. I guess it's too hard to tell without finishing the colors on all the brown accessories. Any suggestions are welcome though!!!

Thanks arashikage tat. Oh yeah, the eyes are are awful, I gave his head and neck one coat,a flesh tone base, its more with the lower section of the fatigues that doesn't quite work for me. Thanks for the compliments though.

Damn, yeah... The backpack is from a Hit & Run custom I did a while back. I guess if nobody has anything to say about the brown "accessories" paints it's all in my head.... I have been working on a grappling gun for Alpine, as well as some rope. I'll post it when he's finished. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

More black.... kinda what I was thinking. Thanks man!!!!!

Just so you know everyone and there mothers are about to start B!#@*ing about the ACOG being on backwards, I know cause I used the same gun in my most recent custom.
Anyways really great work, I love the camo pattern, very solid!

Liking the custom, Wry1. The camo colours are well done, and the gaiters are a nice touch that gives the figure a more realistic look. My only criticism (and it's a very minor one, and it's not even a real criticism, more a statement of personal preference) is that since you've "allowed" yourself to deviate from the original figure's design, you could have taken more liberties with your Alpine custom and just gone whole hog with making more "real-world" alterations similar to what you did with your Hit & Run custom.

Thanks zuludelta, thats the feedback I am looking for! I agree I need to hook him up with a little more flavor to be able to work with Hit & Run aesthetically. Thanks for the input man.

The scopes not on backwards dude, if it is we were all running around Iraq with backwards scopes! Lol. Thanks man.

Ummm, that's sweet. For an easy eye fix you could just put on some goggles.

Thanks unclassified!Yeah fishing hooks work great as grappling hooks. They come in tons of sizes and are super cheap. Just be sure to dremel down the points.
