Stopped by a local Rite Aid near my house and no luck. But they DID have 2 TF Universe Tankors for $17.99! WOW... I wonder why nobody's buying them? :)

I stopped by Target & Wal-Mart in Acworth = no exclusives, but did meet a collectors wife. She was buying Joe for her son & his cousin. It was pretty cool she was telling me about her husbands collection & how her husband & son collect together etc. - good stuff!

I could only really get one. I personally thought the shockwave/night creeper pack sucked royally in person. So I debated and decided to get the Monkeywrench and Tunnel Rat pack as I think that one will be the most in demand. that and even though I really wanted the Gung-Ho since he is resolute style I wasn't too impressed with the copperhead, even though they come with a lot of cool guns.

WR TRU has DCUC wave 9...well, what's left after I bought a set. Still had a Deadshot, Black Adam and Guardian. Also had the Dr Rex RoC wave.

I missed out on getting the original Shockwave CP, so I had been looking to this two pack since I knew I could get him and another Night Creeper. But like you, once I saw him in person I thought it looked something awful.

I guess for me the Monkeywrench/TR pack was a bigger draw since it would give me two figures I didn't have versus one with the Gung-Ho pack, which I may try to pick up eventually.

The Kennesaw TRU had wave 4 out and a lot of the wave 3 figures. Left the pit commandos (yes, about 4 or so of them!) para vipers (also multiples!) and a lot of the others. They also had unmasked storm shadow and some of the black lab coat cobra commanders left along with the fang ninja and accelerator suit duke.

Haven't found much new lately other than the TR/MW 2-pack (thanks for the tip Shock). I missed the 25A version of T-Rat, but I'm actually really liking this one's color scheme. I'm about caught up where I want to be for SW Clone Wars too. Hopefully, this month will be slow for new merchandise. My wallet needs to catch up.

A couple weeks ago, I was in the Super Target in Acworth. I was looking at a Turbo Tank when I noticed that the speeder had been swamped out with (of all things) the turret from the original GIJoe command center! The clone trooper was also swapped with something else. I took the item up to customer service b/c I didn't want some unknowing parent to buy this for their kid for x-mas. At the counter, they opened up the package and what did they find inside? An inkjet printer! Needless to say, someone's a jerk, but customer service was appreciative that I brought it to their attention. (Not enough to give me a ROC Night Raven or my own Turbo Tank though :-( ---- I can wish, right? ;-))

Bandit's Basement, Part 1

As I mentioned last month, I am clearing out a bunch of items from my childhood. I have a bunch of vintage SW and GIJoe items that I plan to get rid of to create space in the house. As I open up a box, I am going to take some photos and sell off parts of my collection. I wanted to give my fellow GA residents first crack at them though, especially since it could save shipping and handling woes on both ends.

First out of the gates, I have a vintage Cobra Night Raven from 1986 and a vintage version of the Mobile Command Center. The Raven is complete and in very good condition. The MCC is near-to-complete. I do hope to make some money off of them, but do not have an intention of gouging anyone either. If you are interested in either item, please send me a PM. If I don't get any interest within a week, I plan to post them up to the Tank classifieds and eBay.

I was at the Commerce Walmart today and they had the ROC Walmart two packs but he sign said they were $15.99 which is $2 more than they were at Oakwood WM the other day when I bought the TR/MW pack. Not sure what is up with that.

But they did have a couple new Batman:Brave and the Bold figures, which were two new versions of Batman and Plastic Man if you're looking for those.

oh and has anyone spotted DCUC wave 8 anywhere? I've found a few odd and ends from wave 9 but haven't seen wave 8 anywhere.

Oh and I was at DragonCon this weekend. saw the elusive wave 5 figures moc. going price? $60 on average each with some being 160. they were selling a loose Black Lightning and loose Amazo without metallo parts for $50 each. needless to say I didn't buy any of those!!!

Nope, haven't seen what i'd like of wave 8 anywhere. I've seen a few black lightning, deadshot, and black adam at toys r' us on separate occasions...but no wave 8 (hard to tell from the volume of Shazam figures already at stores lol)

With wave 8, many of the online retailers have sent out emails saying that there is no more of it coming - Mattel has already sold through all of that wave they made. So if you don't have them, you may want to start considering the 'bay. I was lucky enough to find one complete set between my local TRU and Target and haven't seen a trace of the wave yet.

And I saw those wave 5 at DCon as well...also saw Wonder Twins w/o Gleek going for 100, and the Gotham 5 pack going for about the same. Fargin' scalpers.

I went to Macon last night in search of new figures. Still no new DCUC or ROC, but I did find the Wolverine Origins Wolverine/Colossus 2 pack. I left it because it looked like it was painted by a 2 year old. Also, if anyone is interested they had the first wave of the History of the DC Universe at Comics Plus in Macon. I got up early this morning and went to the Wal-Mart in Milledgeville and saw about 4 cases of the New Marvel Legends on the clearance isle. They had about 2 to 3 of each figure. They also had several Scarlett Spiders, Iron Man Reborn, and Ultimate War Machine from the Ares wave. They were still regular price even though they were on the clearance isle.

I'm beginning to wonder... most of my local walmarts have these huge end cap displays with hundreds of Joe figures on the shelf and nothing more recent then the Helix/Hawk wave on them, they probably have the more recent stuff but don't have the floor space to put it out. I've spent way too much gas looking for the PP Baroness and Duke, but stores are catching up with TF releases now and the new stuff is getting easier to find so I guess I'm back to collecting ROTF again.

It always works out that way it seems, I'm regretting every ROTF purchase I made earlier this year cause most of them are shelf warming at this point or at a cheaper price. The lull could be good. By the time the next big wave hits us hopefully they will be reduced in price and all the ones I'm looking for will be shelf warming too. I have bought most of my figures pretty cheap I must say between TRU and one of my local targets keeping them permanently at the lower rate it hasnt been very expensive.
Going to pick up another Jetfire and some rare earth magnets this weekend so I can make some removable Jetfire armour for my powered up Prime project.

Found the WM 2-packs at the Perimeter Store, scored the Gung-ho set. Also picked up a Firefly VS Green Shirts 5-pack at the Ross down the street. The package had been opened and it looks like one of the rifles is missing. doesn't matter as the whole set is going to be used as parts for customs and the clerk reduced it by 10%..

I saw the RES 5-pack on clearance my WM run earlier today. It rang up for $21 so I passed. It's a great kit, but ill by a second when i find it for $7.

Went on a run today to several places. Went to TRU in Buford, Target and Walmart in Buford, plus Target in Flowery Branch. Didn't find squat. Well, actually I found Accelerator Suit Duke at TRU but that was it.

You know, I'm starting to remember why I gave up on DCUC figures there for a while and concentrated on ROC stuff. Because with the ROC stuff I could actually find SOMETHING!! Arg! I had decided after DragonCon to focus on super heroes again but for the life of me can't find wave 9 and 8.

All there seems to be are wave 2 blue Supes, some wave 6 and 7 leftovers and Cyborg. GAH!!

I really, really want to find a blue wave 9 Wildcat and Black Canary. and I really need the atom smasher torso piece that came with the wave 7 aquaman.

Anybody else here from the non-Atlanta area parts of Georgia? The Atlanta area counts as it's own seperate place to everyone who doesn't live there. It's nothing like the rest of the state... which is 2-20 years behind modern progress. I HATE Albany!

I am actually in Ivey, GA. I have to drive about 30 minutes to get anywhere to find figures. Sometimes I will drive for hours and still find nothing. Its just something about the hunt that keeps me going, or either Im just freaking crazy.

Well I'm in Alto which is in northeast GA, up above Gainesville. there are a few tankers, aileyba and tracker, from the Gainesville area as well and another tanker, TheCimmerian who lives in the town right next to mine, Cornelia.

BTW, Gainesville Walmart has the ROC two packs, at least 3 of each. they are on the island thing with the single figures.

What is getting to me is the lack of DCUC figures. there are basically NONE anywhere near me at all other than wave 2, 6 and 7 remants I either already have or have zero interest in. So I feel your pain.

I found the grey camo True Heroes F-22 at the Buford TRU near the Mall of Georgia. There were 3 left on the shelf. They also had some 25th vehicles. The had 2 SHARCs, 1 Firebat, and 1 Ram Cycle/Trouble Bubble. They still had the CC/Tripwire comic packs and the Crimson Guard/Cobra Officer comic packs. I also saw about 3 single carded Rippers. They were full price, but 25th full price seems like a sale compared to ROC stuff.

Found ROC 2-packs at Valdosta WM tonight. The one next to the Sam's Club. Picked up Shockblast and Tunnel Rat. They thrown into the action alley pdq display. There were still 4 left when went to checkout. Since they don't have a spot on the new toy mod, you have to request them by UPC. Otherwise they may sit in the backroom until Christmas.

ok, has anyone in the metro area seen any DC universe wave 8 ? I found a Vigilante in chattanooga about a month ago, and thats it, Now I hear people are finding wave 9? wtf? I bought most of Wave 7 at Kroger, I need help on this. Its about to end my collecting period.

I thought Assbro was bad, but for Nike's sake Mattel's distribution is shit, I have everything DC universe up to wave 8, I visit multiple stores weekly from Dallas ga to Chattanooga Tn and have found one single wave 8 figure, I cant help but think the retailers computer system as them all in the warehouse and come Christmas time we will be choked to death with them. Hell I had to find a doctor and Para viper in tn, Is it the concentration of collectors? is it scalpers? whats the deal? who here actually bought wave 8 or 9 at retail? anyone? and what area do you live in?

I bought both wave 8 and 9 at retail, here in middle GA. Wave 8 I bought between TRU and Target. Wave 9 I managed to find in one fell swoop at TRU.

And yes, wave 10, the second Wal-Mart wave, has been purchased in OH, CA, TN, and TX so far, according to reports. There are auctions going on EBay from a couple of sellers in CA.

Picked up the Gung-Ho and ShockBlast Walmart 2 packs at Milton Walmart, love these guys I always wanted a Gung-ho that didnt look like one of the village people with his hamburger meat hangin out. The Copperhead figure is cool, just a little disproportionate and needs a removable helmet.

if it was a repack then he went to a lot of trouble tying the figure back in and making sure the package was completely sealed off, plus the weapons gung ho comes with were strapped to hands with the lil rubber bands... I know what a repack is and this was not one.

You'd be surprised what can fool you. I could easily repack figures as I like to open the packages in a way to not damage them. The ROC line is extremely easy to repack the way they are build at the bottom with the close-able corners.

I guess the only thing I'm looking for right now is Wave 5 of the Marvel Universe. I would also like the DCUC Deadshot. I will keep an eye out for you, but all I have seen around here is maybe wave 5 and 6 I think. They haven't restocked those in a while.

No new ROC, DC, or MU in Macon last night. I hit all of the Wal-Marts. They still had two of the Iron Man/Spider Woman cp at Zebulon. I bought my son the Wolverine, Colossus, Ice Man, Blob SHS 4 pack and I got him the SHS Planet Hulk/Silver Savage 2 pack on clearance. Then I had to buy my daughter a Littlest Pet shop, so I had nothing left to spend on myself anyways. I do kinda like setting up the SHS figures and displaying them until my son is old enough to destroy them.

Might give normal people with work and maybe some kids a chance to actually get the toys they want. But thats kind of a socialist outlook I guess so forget that :)

It would also suck for somebody like me, who works 9:30 - 6:30 and hits Target on the way to work, or on the way home for lunch. And I'm no scalper.

Target has had a 'collectibles' policy for a long time. However, they seem only to enforce it at their own whim; basically, if the worker doesn't 'like' you, they can whip out the collectible policy and refuse to sell you whatever it is you're after. I've seen reports over several years of different stores suddenly posting signs about the policy - I can only assume the toy manager at that location has a bug up his butt about grown men buying toys.

Albany GA Wal-Mart finally restocked their Joes last week. It was still all waves 1 & 2. They've had some new Star Wars figures. I've seen Rum Slegg there. The Marvel Universe pegs have been bare except a single punisher for at least 2 months, maybe more. I don't know when it comes to DC, as I don't collect those.

Today at Gainesville Walmart they had a few black coat Dr. Rex's, 2-3 arctic Storm Shadows, and two Paris PUrsuit Baroness figures.

At Buford TRU they had some ParaVipers and a lone Nano Viper (but nobody else from that wave). And they also had the MU 2 packs series 2. 2-3 or Spidey and Magneto, 1 Hulk/cyclops and 1 Iron man and Spider Woman. the paint jobs on all of them were bad with the IM and Hulk packs being absoutely ATROCIOUS.

I'm not a big fan of that particular Snake Eyes, but I will get him eventually. I am more of a black Snake Eyes type of guy. As for the rest, I usually don't buy anything outside of Cobras, but I do pick up most of the Snake Eyes figures. The dessert Viper? looked pretty good and I really liked the Arctic Threat Storm Shadow. I wasn't to impressed with the rest of them. Plus the fact that I am broke didn't help the matter either.

So, after trying the Buford hwy/norcross kmart on Sunday and failing, I decided to stop looking and just wait it out till they hit saturation. Well, I was in Charlotte today for work and got done early. With the extra time I hit two kmarts that were on the way to the airport, first one had nada but the second one had the whole wave. They were freakin 9.89! Anyways, I left everything but resolute snake eyes. They also had a gray wolf PP SE which confirms my theory that every wave from now one will have the gray. Seriously...I thought the same thing in regards to Canton or Cartersville, but I know you all understand when there's that one figure you just want NOW. I had the same feeling when the original Star Wars POTF2 Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker was coming out in the late-90s. I drove everywhere looking for that thing. Ironically, they still haven't made a great version of that figure in all that time.

The Target in Macon has the new GI Joe Rescue sets with the Black Resolute Snake Eyes. They had about 5 of them. They also had the new Batman/Superman Public Enemy figures. I saw 2 Batman 6 in. figures and 1 Superman. They had several of both 3 packs and a couple of the 6 pack smaller figures. I actually really liked the smaller figures, especially the Lex Luthor in the black suit. I then went next door to Marshalls to see if I could luck up on a Best of 80s DVD set, but all they had were the SRO 3 packs. I was able to pick up the WWE Classic Superstars Demolition 3 pack for 9.99. I will probably go back and get the Brainbusters w/ Bobby Heenan. Hopefully I will be able to get to a few Wal-Marts this weekend.

I think I got the only Demolition pack in Macon, but it was so messy there may have been another one. I know they still had 2 of the Brainbuster sets. Yeah, they only had the one left when I went by there this evening. They had about 4 or 5 Snow Serpents. I think you are right, there will be plenty more in the coming weeks. I can still find Firefly and Barbecue rather easily I really got mine to do a Sgt. Slaughter figure, which I am now proud to say is my first custom. :)

I broke down and picked up a Rescue Pack on Friday night. I saw the same problem with SE. With a little effort, you can adjust the top half of the torso so that it sits normally on the bottom half. He looked much better once I did that. I wish the black version of SE had more paint apps, but I am liking him more and more each day. I still plan to get the grey version of the CS SE regardless. My SE is a little loose around the metal part of the hip joint allowing the legs to shift around somewhat easily.

I really like the Duke included with this pack as well. I've been using the Resolute Duke head with my Reactive Armor Duke body the entire time (I really like the combination), so I was hoping the Breaker body would work just as well with the head giving my Duke a nice non-armor uniform, but unfortunately it doesn't. I could lose the blue Neo-Vipers, but overall I plan on keeping the set.

I'm thinking about customizing the web gear on the left hip to create a pistol holster. I'm not sure if there's enough mass to work with. Oh, and the scabbard is warped a little and the belt seems a little loose. Most of it is fixable but overall the figure is badass if you overlook the lack of contrast.

I have noticed that the torso joints on the 25th and ROC figures can move left and right in addition to just back and forth. I have only tried this on figs where the top torso is askew from the bottom torso mind you so I can't say that it works for all on them. Essentially, I just use a little strength to shift the top torso to the left or right (depending on which direction I need it to go) instead on the back/ forth that they traditionally move. I have to hold the bottom torso firmly while I'm doing this. (This actually sounds kind of perverted.) I don't know if its supposed to be able to do that to be honest so who knows what damage I've done, but I haven't noticed anything permanent yet. I've done this procedure with ROCs Hawk, Helix, SS, and Rex to name a few. Does this make sense?

However, that was not the find of the day. Buf first a brief story.
Currently I'm a substitute teacher and work is, well, unstable to say it best. I really enjoy what I'm doing but it's becoming interesting as far as making ends meet and my toy collecting is SEVERELY limited right now. Not to mention finding much of anything worthwhile is almost impossible.

But despite all of that, today at Marshalls in Gainesville I found the holy grail of GI Joe. That's right friends. I found the Best of the 80s dvd pack!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in disbelief. amongst the strewn and scattered toys on the shelf I walked over and picked up the first DVD pack I saw just knowing it wasn't going to be that set but there it was. After recovering from the initial shock, I happily made my way to the check out and purchased the pack.

They also had a few of the wave 1 sro packs too, one of the air and one of the sea ones but that was it.

But that makes two toys I've been searching for for a long time that I've found this month which is nice (the first one was the 12 inch marvel legends icons Nightcrawler I got last weekend in TN).

Man-Bat and Joker are the ones I still need. I won't lie - I've worked MUCH harder for these than I should have had to, and even then without a tip from JCross I never would have found the first two I got.

My suggestion, even though it's more work for you to try - especially if there's a Wally near you that has been low on stock for DCUC for a bit - try talking to a toy manager and having them force an order for a case. Unfortunately even if they order a case you are not guaranteed to get a W10 case (WM in their brilliance did not assign their own exclusive a unique UPC code, they use the same one for all DCUC), but it increases your chances if you can actually speak to someone who knows what they're doing and can place an order. They should even be able to give you an arrival date for that order (and I'd start hitting the store a day or two before that, to be honest...preferably at night during stock hours).

Last weekend I was at a Ross and noticed that someone had jacked a Crimson Guard from the Crimson Guard five pack. They got the one closest to the open end and left the rest. Didn't really understand why. It made me curious to see if they would offer any kind of discount on the pack since a figure was missing, but I didn't want to go through the hassle or really spend the money on it since I'd just picked up the best of the 80s dvd pack from Marshalls next door.

There was still an Electro, Guardian, Red Hulk, Black and Red Spiderman, and 2 Centurion Iron Man figures. Nothing new in the Joe Section. They did have the UFC figures and the new DC Infinite heroes.

That would be great on the Black Canary. I would love to help out on the wave 8 and 10 figures, but I can't find anything DCU up this wave other than some wave 7 figures and maybe Cyborg or Dr. Impossible. So I won't be much help to you in that regard.

Also...the Russell Pkwy WM put out what looked to be 10 cases of MU the other night. Rulks, grey Hulks, DD, wave 5...tons of them. 4 full pegs plus about 30 figures they just put on a shelf further down the aisle.

Now if they would just restock DCUC....or if I could find someone working in that store with half a brain and a desire to do their job so I could maybe get them ordered...

Well if I ever get Black Canary I'm done with that wave as I'll have the 3 figures I wanted from it (Wildcat, BA, and BC). With wave 10 all I'm after is power girl.

Fortunately for me, most of the build a figures aren't enough of a draw to try and buy the whole set, or I'd be going crazy and would have already given up on this line. Never seen something so difficult to collect.

I picked up the MU wave 5 upside down Spiderman with the white number on his leg this morning. I found about four or five of the upside down Spiderman and this was the only one with the white number on his leg. Does anyone know if it is rare or just a production error?

I'm just hoping with the holidays coming that stores around here are going to start doing a better job of stocking toys. That's my hope for DCUC wave 10 at least. We'll see how that actually turns out.

But it is pretty bad that you had an actual arrival date and they didn't arrive. Maybe that means they'll show up this week. Don't give up yet; heck, I'd say you've had pretty good luck finding stuff lately.

Found a bunch of Marvel Universe figures today like Rulk, Hobgoblin, Electro, upside down spidey. Only ones I didn't see were Guardian and Namor.

They also had the Gigantic Battles or whatever they're called...the ones with Cap and Skrull Giantman and Goliath and Iron Man. Zero interest in any of that stuff for me. But at least they got something new at Cornelia Walmart.

I can confirm Lawrenceville area Walmart is $5, but nothing new other than the figures up to the Helix wave. Not bad if you passed on some of the early released ROC figures. Now's the time to get them for a decent price.

If you still have your receipts for WM figures, you can get them price adjusted! WM is the most forgiving on actual purchase dates, and in most cases, you may be within the 90 day return policy. It's like buy three figs, get one free retroactively! So, anyone see the new battle packs at WM? Anything new Joe related? I'm tempted to get a night raven at target with the reduction but I've got a feeling they'll be plentiful and cheap when they hit clearance. What definitely will be hitting clearance in early January is that rhino exclusive. I haven't seen one sold yet!

All of the ROC are also $5 in the Middle GA area. I also saw the MU revision wave with Union Jack and the Infamous Bullseye. So, if you missed out on Bullseye the first time around don't pay double to triple the price on eBay because he should be hitting your area soon.

Found various things today. I confirmed the $5 price on ROC at the older SWM in Acworth this morning. Both SWMs in Acworth had what I think is a new wave of MU figures with Jean Grey, Sunfire, Vision, Warpath, etc.) I picked up Jean Grey only. Still plenty left, especially at the older SWM. The TRU in Kennesaw had remnants of the ROTS wave of the SW TLC.

No sign of anything new in GIJoe.

Eisenhower WM in Macon has Marvel wave 6, except for Jean Grey. Had all the others. Vision looks great, but I no longer collect the line.

Just got back from my lunchtime toy run. Indeed, the Burford Marshall's had DVD sets 2-5. I bought 3, 4, and 5.

It seems like the Marshall's in the north metro area have been gearing up for Christmas since a week or two ago, and they put out tables with the overflow of toys. But, this particular Marshall's did not have these sets a week ago from what I could tell. My point is to keep checking Marshall's even if you already went recently and even if it seems like they already got their big Christmas build up of toys. They could still get in a batch of DVD sets anytime it seems.

Also, Burford TRU has several Benchpress and Snow Serpents. I also saw 2 back coat Rex figures among the other figures from that wave including para-vipers. They also have a Wolverine Origins Deadpool and Cyclops. (the good Deadpool, NOT the shirtless one) LOL!
