i was starting to think Southern boys didn't like this hobby. i live just north of birmingham, work downtown, do most of my "perusing" at the walmarts, kmart, and target around trussville. the tru in hoover never has anything. you having any luck?

Saw BA CC, Rock 'N' Roll, Torpedo@TRU this week here in Montgomery. Wal-Mart got 'em about three weeks ago. Our TRU also got the Night Watch/Ninja sets this week. They also re-stocked with the older 5-packs (Joe and first COBRA). Guess they found a couple of boxes in the back. At $29.99 they're not moving very fast.

Every so often, the TRU in Mobile has some Joes [very rarely]. I get most of the ones I am hunting from the 5 Walmarts in town.

I'm in Huntsville...Yesterday I made a run..this is what I found...
Our TRU had quite a few Sigma Six figures, but only 2 single pack 25ths. They did have the exclusive sets and three or four Cobra 5 packs (1st one)
I picked up a wave 7 Snake Eyes at one of our many Wal-Marts, but everywhere else I went was a bust. All I seem to find are Cobra Commanders, Cobra Troopers and about 1000 buzzers!

I found a w7 SE, but nothing else. One Snow Job, and a handful of Cobra troopers and Air Troopers. All Target exclusives are gone, too.

In Mobile, I found some Vipers and HISS drivers at the TRU. I plan on going to Target and Wal-Marts. I just think Alabama gets screwed or either our retailers are retarded and do not know what is new.

Hey all, I live in trussville and have been collecting joes for awhile. I finally found the python patrol vipers at tru in hoover and robuck walmart today. Still no major bludd luck so I bit the bullet and got one off of ebay, I hate to do that but it is alot cheeper then making the bham circle and spending $20.00 in gas and finding nothing.

Anyway ... This place has a guy with a case FULL of old toys from the 80's. I run into him from time to time @ the thrift stores in center point. He has no clue what He's getting!! if it's a knock off Joe, or Transformer he dosen't know the difference. He just buys it, but sometimes hes right. Hey great info about the thrift store but I actually work at bob's on most saturdays and the joes he has he bought from me although he has beat me in poker more times than i beat him.
This saturday me and a few friends are goning to knoxville to the adventure con, I have been there a few times and there is alway great deals on toys and comics. On the way there we will make the oblijatory stops at the walmarts and hopefully find the new comic packs.

I picked up cp FF/SS and Copperhead/Trainwreck today at W*M in Trussville, left one FF/SS on the rack.
Target in Trussville also had a Transformers Animated Grimlock, for those of you who like them.

Some jagoff has been ripping open w7 "Flyboy" Duke and stealing the silver jetpack and leaving the rest. I have seen three like this at a Kmart and a Walmart within a mile of each other. This jerk even ripped open a SE/SS comic pack, though nothing was visibly missing, including the comic which was still sealed.
I have not been able to talk myself into purchasing this Duke; I do want the jetpack for my Grand Slam, but do not want this figure. However, I still would never resort to flagrantly defiling the product and stealing the sole piece I want. I need a new helmet for Fred since my dog destroyed it (gloriously, I might add), but I am not going to a store with a razor knife to procure one.

I was just at the Kmart in Homewood yesterday and they still had 2each of the Series 1 Cobra 5-pack and the Cobra Legions pack.
I just had to get one of the ser1 Cobra packs, the others are still sitting there.
Also as crappy a store it is ROSS, the other day had a few of the 25th GI JOE 5-packs got me one because I started a little late with the 25thA figures and missed out on it.

I pulled out some of my old stuff Friday and piced together a complete Night Viper, SE 89 and 91, Road Pig, Wild Bill 92, Rock Viper, others.

My wife and I are looking to purchase a new home, and she told me I can have a man room and display my collection. When we buy, I will gladly have you fellas over.

After looking over my stuff I think I may have to go back and get his HEAT Viper and a couple others. I just need a couple accesories here n' there to finish up a few. Specter, I will hafta run by that KMart this week. The one out here in Truss'Vegas has three Legions packs, but I just cannot force myself to buy one. I have an extra Beachhead and ordered the w5 revision case from BBTS months ago, so when it comes in and you are still in need I will shout you, and keep an eye out for the other two.

I now see why I am never able to find a great score at TrU in Hoover now. As many times as I have been out there this year, I have only gotten one CG and the twins cp.

I have had most of my luck at WM. Gotten most of my cp's between two Wal*Marts. Only one Snow Job at KMart, and saw the Flash that got away. Got Spirit and Will Bill at Target -- but everything else at WM. TrU is a bust.

Hey man thats crazy,I grew up in Auburn(went to school there,so did my wife)and I spent alot of time shopping Montgomery for joes before I moved to ......Mississippi last July.That's crazy weird.Anyway the Wal-Mart in Auburn is where I found all of wave7,but thats been several weeks ago while I was visiting home! Not to sound paranoid but Have you noticed that the findings of the vehicles have been up north.I looked at the other threads:NY,NJ,SC,.All our Kmarts suck @$$ in my area.Toy lines stores have no trouble getting Hasbro wise:Transformers and anything Marvel.The only toy lines that they get less of GI Joe and Star wars.The GI joe pegs for the single figures are always empty and the stores don't notice?

So apparently w9 is here. The Trussville WM had at least one case, but all that was left when I got there was Torpedo, WB, and Ninja Ku. They also had a TON of w7. Plenty of HISS Drivers, WB, Spirit, and Flyboy Duke, and another Torpedo or two. Also had the w4 cp's. Met a guy while there that said his friend bought the w9 this am -- the idiot that I am, I was watching Transfomers Animated and Spectacular Spider-man, both are awesome -- and that the Roebuck WM was fruitless and the Hoover TrU had the vehicles this morning but were sold out shortly after opening.

I had an epiphany staring at a lone recarded Torpedo at Ann Street Wal-Mart this morning:

If there were a brick-and-mortar store here that sold Joes for $15 each and I found what I was looking for...I'd get them.

So...I'm pre-ordering my basics now and will just roll the retail dice that I can eventually find non-essentials like army-builders. But I think I am pretty much done with going out of my way on dry toy runs. I'll stop by places that are en route to other destinations but no more circling the Montgomery area.

I put the leftovers at the Boulevard Wal-Mart on one peg just to see how much one peg can hold. At saturation point, a peg can hold twelve Joes. So I wonder why whenever Wal-Mart (or Target, or any store for that matter) restocks, it's almost always one case at a time. Since most of these new action figures are one-per-case in a case of eight, one case=one collector. Since there is space for approximately 48 carded action figures, it would seem to me that when new waves came out each store would get at least 4 cases. Don't know if it's the stores themselves or Hasbro limiting product. I admit that marketing and retail are not my areas of expertise. At any rate, there'll be more for y'all on the pegs...if you can get to them before scalpers and each other. I'm pimping myself out to the online retailers now, at least for single carded Joes.

I will second that, as I open all my toys I hate that there are people out there that will buy up ALL the new stuff and sell it on ebay for a $4 to $5 mark up, with gas the way it is now they cant be making any profit. I have not seen any w9 yet. They only had 1 single carded up since at least Friday. I left a note asking them to please4 stock the singles, but I am sure that will be tossed and ignored since the woman will know it was me and think I am a scalper or something. DAMMIT.

I know the feeling.I had the Legacy wave 2 figures in my hands.Sorry you have to wait till the 26th.Back to GI Joe.I think the reason why she said what she did is that at some of the Walmarts in my area there is no place to put the vehicles.I only saw the vehicles at 2 Walmarts.They are most likely wait to reset.Again,it just a theory.

Montgomery Target had the Shipwreck/Copperhead, SS/FF, and Duke/Red Star comic sets. I'd never seen Duke/Red Star before. I think two of each.

Every cp made are overflowing one WM near me. The one where the evil, foul henchwoman would not sell me toys.
When I finally found the Duke/RS cp, I put it back. I just don't like it. Duke looks like he is in his 20's fighting an aging Russian leader. And the do not have enough holsters for their weapons. I liked the RAH RS back in the day cos of his gun. This one was an easy "pass" for me.

Sorry for the late post but found all the new vehicle 2 packs at the irondale WM on monday night, they had what looked like 2 or 3 cases worth. I was able to get a complete set and they were a buck cheeper than TRU.

NOW GO GET THEM AND IF YOU SEE ANY SCALPERS RUN OVER THEM NOONE WILL MISS THEM.

I asked someone when they were going to put the joes out and got an answer of sometime in the next month. They did have some of the new 12 inch figures, firefly and ss comic pack, battle damaged se and ss pack, as well as 2 single carded cc in helmet(without mass device), and 2 vipers.
They did have 1 Forces of Valor M1 Abrams tank for about 30 bucks. I'd love to get it but didn't have the money. I have the FoV Bradley and it goes great with my joes.

I was in a WM today in bham and I spoke to the toy dept manager. I asked when they expect to get some more gijoes in, Manager stated "they have been ordered but when they come in a man and his wife buy all of them(scalper)". So this tells you that it is going to be hard to find them if he beats us to them.

The DVD sets hit Montgomery Target. They had 1 of each this morning, I got the last two. They might be in Prattville. After work last night I did a toy run up to Millbrook and Prattville. Found three Major Bludds at Prattville Wal-Mart. It was weird. They had four cartoon Baronesses, the 3 Bludds (which I got because I'd wanted them to open for displays), and a bunch of COBRA Commanders. Millbrook Wal-Mart still has Python Officers, Vipers galore, and one Comic #2 Snake-Eyes along with an army of TF Flints and Roadblocks. I wonder if somebody bought up the Bludds and Baronesses in Millbrook then returned them to Prattville??? If Wave 9 ever hit Millbrook there was no evidence of it (the telltale Torpedo and/or Wild Bill).

Gump TRU still had the Serpentor vehicle set as of this afternoon.

Target in Montgomery still had nothing new. Prattville Target was restocking the toy isle this morning but didn't have any joes out. They did have 2 cool looking Sherman tanks from the Forces of Valor line in 1/18. Lady told me they get the trucks in on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the mornings and if I checked in the afternoons they should have everything out. I don't get to Prattville much so I don't know if it would do any good. The Montgomery Target sucks or either I just never have any luck when I go in there.

I tried to find a pic but could not. It will just say (or indicate) something like "GI Joe 3.75 wa5 08" or similar. The vehicle box says something like "GI Joe Vehicle Assrtmt wa1."

Good first,

Went to Homewood KM nothing new but, Snake Eyes with BLACK timber!!!!!!!!they didnt have that the other day.

Homewood WM reset toys two times in one week. First doubbled the joe pegs,great. second, less than before the first setting,SUCKS. then they moved all the joes back to the baby toys(they are all alone with preschool toys and nerf)
