OK so check this out. I'm a BIG guy and as such I really don't make light of people being overweight but this has to be said.

My friend and I were walking through the toy aisles at target. We were talking and having a good laugh when I spied it 0_0 :D POC 3 pegs FULL of carded figures. I almost shat myself and exclaimed much to my undoing. OH MY GOD they have the new joes in! Well I guess I said this a little too loudly because a very robust fellow in one of those motorized carts on the other end of the aisle perked right up, Shot out of his cart like a bat out of Hell and dashed to the pegs. He proceeded to snatch each and every joe off them and placed them lovingly in his basket. he then looked over his shoulder as he slowly sped away in his cart. I almost lost my cool and beat his huge ass. :mad: DE2( I want to cry now. That was complete bullshit what he pulled. My friend is never going to let me live that down.

I have 2 words Hotwheels guy.Some Hotwheels collectors will go after other figure lines,Star Wars mainly.I don't buy Hot wheels if I do they are treasure hunts for a buddy of mine.I am very sorry to here that.people have no class or manners.You should have grabbed what you could,you saw them first.That's what I have to do.I am sure the guy that grabbed the joes probably will put them on Ebay.The guy in the motorized cart must have been a NASCAR driver.

If there is any silver lining in that or anything I can poke fun at is the fact he was so out of breath and wheezing when he started pulling away, He may have a heart attack. Dude was red-faced and sweated up pretty good by the time he sat back down. If you ever heard that Adam Sandler skit "fatty McGee", you know what I'm talking about when I say the wheezing got so bad, that I thought the fire fighters were going to show up.

All I know is, I am a patient man and atleast now I know they're trickling into stores so if they come in, I can snag what I want. {Beach Head, Firefly, Alley viper, and CC.}

Oh and my contact at Kmart said the 3rd is the street date for them with the new star wars stuff so you may want to be there when they open if you want any. Well before the hotwheels guys show up. LMAO

Oh yeah, they had the Alphas/Mechs/figures. I only picked up a few of the figures, because I don't have a lot of extra cash on me right now. However, I've been having my son save his allowance for the last 3 weeks, and I will take him later this afternoon! Muahahahahahahahahahahahaha *breathes deeply* ....ahahahahahaaha!

I got a minty, mint Cobra Commander and Alley Viper. Man, I'm choppin' at the bit to get off work and stare at these guys.

It was so beautiful seeing them there that I almost cried.

EDIT: Joes only has a single row of pegs, and enough shelf space to fit the Mechs and Alphas side-by-side. However, it's still nice to see the new stuff.

COMPLETELY off subject, while on vacation this past week I went on a little hike with my brother and father in the Lake Tahoe area. While we were poking around we came across a HUGE natural quartz deposit. Apparently someone had already been mining it, because there was a 5 ft deep/6 ft wide hole in the ground with quartz piled all around the hole. According to my brother (he's a geologist) gold or silver is commonly found along with quartz, and a passing hiker confirmed that the "miner" had attempted to file a gold claim but was unsuccessful.

Now I know quartz isn't THAT exciting, but actually seeing a natural deposit on that scale was to me (I had only seen small deposits inside rocks). My brother and I jumped into the hole, and started looking around. We ended up finding a ton of clear quartz, smoke quartz, some mica type green stuff, some gold flakey stuff (my brother knows what it is), and A PETRIFIED TREE! I have to say I've seen all of that stuff before, but never found it myself. I'll take some pictures, and send it to if any of you guys are interested. I only took small rocks since I was going to be flying back, but trust me when I say there were some HUGE boulder versions of the same stuff.

My dad has always had a huge interest in geology and dendrology (trees). Whenever we hike in east TN, he will walk with his head straight up looking at leaves and identifying tree species instead of focusing on the ground in front of him. When we traveled the west when I was a kid, we visited every canyon and nat'l park we could. Brought back some pink granite from Mt Evans and souvenirs from Arches, Yellowstone, pyrite from CO, toured mines, etc. Love it.

I hit Jones Valley Target today and they had re-set as well.
They had some new Star Wars figs...Cloud Car Pilot, ATAT Commander and some of those anny figs. Also had an assortment of the other figs as well. For Marvel they had 1 red and 1 green Hulk, but none of the new assortment. If you have been looking for Transformers, they have all of the newest ones (War for Cybertron, Thrust, etc.) For Joes they had the Alpha vehicles and some figs. I actually picked up Storm Shadow and Duke on Saturday from University Target so today I got Snow Job and Beach Head. No CC and no Alley Viper. Also no Mechs, but they were still putting out freight while I was there so they might show up later.

If you see them at Walmart just have them price match Target. If TRU runs a Buy One Get One 50% off sale again have Target or Walmart match that. To match the sale you'll need the printed ad though. If either place claims to not be able to price match sale ads they're lying. I know for a fact that Target matches everything except clearance prices, and I've been told by a reputable source that Walmart does too.

Camper, did you ask any of the associates when their reset is planned for? If you didn't just call and ask the operator.

True, but just have Walmart call Target to confirm. I usually go to the Automotive department, or the Sporting Goods to do my price matching that way. Granted I've only done it once, but it was painless.

WM has always given me grief about printing the internet ad. I told them this is their circular, not an internet-exclusive price, and ended up having to get a manager involved. Took about ten minutes, everyone in line behind me was upset, I was extremely apologetic.

Complain to corporate about it, and you should get a $10 gift certificate. It's not in a company's best interest to give people grief over $50 or less. I know for a fact that Home Depot, and Lowes both have policies where an employee isn't required to have proof of the price difference unless it's over $50. I also know for a fact that Lowes, and TRU will give you a $10 gift certificate if you complain to corporate; I've heard Walmart does the same.

By the way, does anyone know what day the Huntsville TRU is supposed to get their truck in this week?

Yep, it was at my door when I got home yesterday. The box was beat to hell, and the holographic sleeve was pulled up on one corner. It irritated me a bit, but for the most part it looked good so I'm not going to complain. With the condition the box was in it could have been MUCH worse.

Yesterday was kind of a flop. Cray and I bumped into eachother at Kmart and he asked if I wanted to take a little fieldtrip. We ended up hitting the usual spots and were almost 100% let down. After alot of whining from me I actually handled a WFC prime and now I'm not so sure I want one. The head seems awfully small for his frame. I did get to pick up some Generations figs for my friend but we kept getting the same BS from employees at any place we asked about SW and Joes. I know for a fact some stores have Joes instock because it was a local target that I had the 'incident' with the overly robust fellow. We kept getting the same runaround though, "we are not going to be done with resets till this day", "We haven't received ours yet", "We can't put them on the shelves yet", and so on. I have to give it to Cray though, Man where I would be ok I'll try back later, He drills them like a true pro.

Indeed I had a fun time although we got flooded out in the afternoon.

oh and Cray let me know what all you wanted from 25'th besides that wraith and the MU shield soldier, I'll set em aside for you.

Well I finally got my hands on some POC. Picked up a minty CC for a fellow tanker. I picked up an Alley Viper, Firefly, and a Beach Head. I ran low on funds so I couldn't pick up a snake eyes or snow job. But those aren't a huge priority. I do so love the new firefly and alley vipers. If any fellow tankers come across these 2 and have no desire to pick them up for themselves, I would greatly appreciate if they could pick me up some. I'll pay or trade for them. I need 3-4 more alley vipers and 2 more firefly's. Any help on these would be overly appreciated.

On a side note. Who was it that was wanting a MU Cardiac custom? Let me know as I think I may want to take a crack at it. I only found 2 reference pics and they both are different body builds. One looks big and muscular, and the other is kind of sleek and mean looking. If you want a sleek one I have a spare Union Jack I'll use. If you want the Bulky one I have a few ideas for a body.

At the decatur target this morning. Cray called ahead and had them hold the case before it hit the pegs. As far As I know, yes it's still for Cray but, We are not sure exactly what's going on with it at the moment.
The target only got the 1 case in and I think it's stupid that Hasbro packed them in a very lopsided variety. 2 SE, Dukes and SS per case? I know these are considered the BIG 3 but man I think they should have either made bigger cases or lose 1 or 2 of those doubles in favor of more Alley Vipers or Firefly's.

I broke down and just ordered me a set of PoC so I could get my AV lol and I was one that mentioned the Cardiac. I have a Union Jack I was looking at as far as making him too, just know I cant do the lightning on costume

Hell for more Alley vipers, I'm almost willing to pay that. I honestly believe the AV are the single best molds and reuse of older molds I've ever seen. To me the only flaw I can find in it is the fact that the grapple gun doesn't like to stay on the backpack, But that is easily remedied.
As for Firefly, I want to make a 3 man bomb squad. With 1 as Firefly and the other 2 as vipers with the predator helmets. Obviously they'd be separate from Firefly as he prefers to work alone no?

@nort, You want me to take a crack at that Cardiac then? If I suck at it, no big deal but I think it'd be fun to try. I always liked that character and thought Marvel should have used him more often. But all my older comics are gone so I have to rely on the internet for reference. If I could find a SW magna guard I think his staff would work but I may try a homemade one with some wire/hotglue combo for the energy.

Edit: Oh and nort, any ideas on if you have those female bodies/heads and the deapool heads we talked about?

I found Juggernaut too, but I'm 100% sure he came in the Revision case instead of the Series 3 case. I say this because they had every single figure from that Revision case on the peg, but nothing except Juggernaut from the Series 3 case.

Partially. I got there at 9am and there were two stockers. I went to the Joes, saw that CC and AV were already gone. Stocker guy said, "Yeah man, we just put those out!" I said, "then either you're a Joe fan, or someone else has already been by." He didn't say anything else.

Only if you still want it, but don't feel like you're obligated to take it. I plan on buying 2 of each of the PoC figures (1 to open, 1 MoC), but I only bought 1 of each for myself at TRU this week because I wanted to leave the rest for other people.

@Edhaskel: He's not at all what I expected him to look like. He's really clean cut, and dressed really nice (at least when I saw him). Kinda gave me the salesman vibe. The only reason I know it was him was because he acted like a complete tool when I tried to talk to him, and the red flags went up. I spoke to Crayfish about him, and he confirmed that it was him. yeah I have a staff from grievous guard and an extra Union Jack so I can replace whatever you use if needed or send you parts.

I found Juggernaut too, but I'm 100% sure he came in the Revision case instead of the Series 3 case. I say this because they had every single figure from that Revision case on the peg, but nothing except Juggernaut from the Series 3 case.

ok so after opening my 3 poc figures I'll give my little 2cents opinion on the figures.

1st up is Beach Head:

I do love the basic mold and head sculpt on this one but I do have a few gripes with the figure. I was going to try and get atleast 2 one for a custom and one to keep as is. After opening the package and working all the joints I noticed his hands are in the 'monkey grip' is what I call it. I had to heat his hands up then squeeze a tighter grip and run the hands under cold water to get him to hold ANY of his weapons.
2. As everyone else is stating "2 knife sheathes-1 knife". This wasn't as big an issue as I had thought it would be. I had taken a 25th alley viper knife and placed it upside down in his back sheathe, Problem solved until I get a better knife.
3. Whoever designed his look obviously didn't think anyone would use his gas mask as it is almost prohibited from being placed over his head in any workable fashion.
4. Demon flippers, NUFF SAID!
With those minor gripes aside I like the figure but not enough to want a 2nd after all

2: Firefly.
I was only setting out wanting 1 of him but after tinkering with it I want 2 more to make his 'back-up'. The ONLY things I can find negative is the fact that his pack makes him top/back heavy and his weapons don't really fit into his persona but that is just a personal preference easily remedied by some armament swapping.

3. Alley Viper.
I honestly cannot say enough good about this version. He has gone to become my present favorite POC figure now. I do understand that 90% of the figure is recycled from various sources but DAMN, they did a banging good job. I really don't have a single gripe about this even though the grappling gun wouldn't stay on his pack, I just used a pin vise to make the finger hole on the rifle a tad bigger, Problem solved.
I know now that I want 4 more of these to troop build as it has so much potential as-is but also has the extra accessories to fiddle around with customs.
I intend to make a 5 man Alley Viper squad. 1 in a resolute alley viper style with the helm/goggles, light assault rifle and shield/tonfa for the squad leader. 2 with the maroon helm and heavy weapons/shield for the muscle. and 2 with gas masks and small arms for infiltration units.

10/10.

Keep in mind this was in no way an actual review and just my opinion. I just thought of sharing for my fellow Bama and Tenn tankers. And for those not wanting to open these so they know what to kind of expect.

All-in-all I am pleased with POC and am a little sad that I didn't have enough money when I got to see the lady at target open the case and let me have the 1st crack at it. I would have bought the whole case if I could have.

my next few I am wanting in the order I would like to pick up are: Snow Job, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and maybe a duke but I dunno about him yet.

Ok this is getting redundant. I called, went to 3 walmarts and got the same song and dance routine. All have yet to complete their resets and have 1-3 cases of joes/star wars/marvel universe in the back, but state that they WILL NOT be selling any until the reset has been completed. Each and every store that I talked to, someone has stated that IN FACT they do have them in the back room and they just WILL NOT put them out yet. I even had a stock lady bring out a case of joes and was going to open it so I could get out what I wanted, When another associate came by and bit her head off over them and took them away from her. He told her no matter what that they wouldn't cater to the scalpers and fanboys about the new toys and that they will get them out in due time as they see fit. I am not making that up. I hear those double rainbows all the way across the sky are so intense. As for seeing PoC in the wild, I almost always over look it since most of the stores have a single row of pegs designated. However, it is indeed beautiful, and never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

No restocks yet. As a matter of fact, I haven't even seen them show up at Walmart at all yet. I've heard that some WMs aren't expected to have a section for GI Joe in the new modular. Here's hoping that my area isn't one of them.

I'm expecting Huntsville TRU to get Wave 1 figures this week. However, that is purely my own speculation. IF the figures do show up here, does anyone want me to pick anything up for them? Shpwrk, do you want a Quick Kick figure to go with that Spirit?

I think with the Resolute AV helmet on and sans shield there are no COBRA symbols, and it's sort of black, reddish and goldish, hence the Transcarpathian thing.

My guess is they wouldn't release the old mold again, they'd want to maximize their investment in that new mold.

I have asked all weekend at every Wal-Mart in north Alabama and most of them say they either have 2 or don't have any. The ones that have them will have somebody go back and look and not find them. The other one may still be there but I doubt it because a friend of mine was going for the other one.

Cullman Walmart is doing their reset right now. Decatur said they are going to to start this week. It varies from store to store so I don't know about when the B'ham stores will start. Also...not every Wal-Mart is set to get Jabba....Cullman and Hartselle will not and maybe not Gardendale.

Stopped by Kmart too, and it appeared as if they did a reset but I saw no new product other than the new Jodo Kast. Something else that I noticed was there was no shelf space designated for GI Joe. The entire aisle appeared to be set with tags, but nothing with GI Joe on it.

I called yesterday evening and talked to a very nice young lady there and she went and got a case of POC Joes and even named off some of the ones I wanted. I asked her if there was any way she could hold them for me as I live 1/12 hours away. She said she'd gladly hold them for me up to 2 hours. I told her what I look like and would wearing and she said ok, I'll set them aside for you. I got there and spoke to a guy at the front and asked if I could get the joes that were being held for me. He informed me that NO and it is against company policy to 'hold' items for ANYONE. needless to say I was very upset then and asked why would someone tell me they could AND the fact I drove 1 1/2 hours to be let down and he said sorry sir it's against policy. Well I decided in upset mood that I'd try and calm a bit and I looked in the aisle with the joes and the girl came up to me and was very nice but was opologising like her job depended on it. She told me that the guy I talked to upfront had sold them to our 'friend' Daniel and he held them off the floor for him until he came and picked them up. She said this happens too often there and they get alot of complaints from customers about Daniel and the items being held back for him. This will be the 3rd time I have lost out because of items being held for him and I'm sick of it. I'm sure that what they are making off of his sales is nothing compared to what they are losing when people like me cannot find the items they are supposed to have. I usually try to pick up most if not all of what I'm looking for from 1 place if possible. I've passed on items at stores just because I could get them plus others I was looking for from another store. I know I'm not the only one this is affecting. I know of some on here and I'm sure Parents/Grandparents and even kids don't buy things there because of the newest stuff being held back/sold off to scaplers.

Cray has seen how I conduct myself in person. All I ever ask is what I paid period. unless I have to ship it or go far out of my way then yes a little mark-up might come into play but that is VERY rare.

I was so mad I actually set down the HISS and the few other items I had and thanked the girl for trying and left. The thing is I really don't have that much of a temper. My wife keeps telling me I need to be a little more mean sometimes, you know as long as it's not directed at her lol.

No worries, it's this kind of stuff that really offends me, and it offends my wife even more. If you guys ever meet Rosemarie you'll understand what I'm talking about. She's nice to me and my family/friends, but that's it. Think firey, red headed German with a black woman's attitude.

Was not me, but if you don't get any where I was going to mobilize my friends (both real life, and internet) to start calling. I was a guild leader for a VERY close WoW guild for 4+ years, and most of the core group (about 30 of us) still talk on the phone/email. I'm in Cullman but I go in any direction since it's like totally central to H'ville, B'ham, Gadsden, Jasper, Arab, Guntersville and so on. And yeah we all need to get together for a kind of swap meet. I really don't collect per se but I mostly make customs and have a rubbermaid tote full of joes/TF's and misc toys. That's why I never worry about mint on card items, they always get opened.

Oh and Crystal was one of the ladies you gave me the number for at TRU cust service. She said she called and talked to the manager and he said NO ONE is allowed to hold stuff for customers. He also said that he's aware of Daniel. Crystal told me that if I can get the names of the employees who are holding items for him and helping him obtain them before they hit the shelves to give them to her and she'll have it handled.

I really don't want anyone to get fired over it, I just want them to start doing their jobs and not catering to asshats like him. Oh I'm sorry he's a VIP customer. ~cough~ I shouldn't talk like that. :mad:

I got it for $79 ($89 sale price + $10 off coupon), and I would say it's worth it. The thing is freakin' huge. So far my only complaints are:
1) the Speeder Bike it comes with is a piece of crap (I expected quality on par with the BARC Speeder from the Turbo Tank)
2) the figure it comes with is atrocious

However, minor annoyances considering what it does come with.

EDIT: Sorry about the delay, but I was spending some time with my son before he went to bed.

Further investigation, the plastic is definitely of lesser quality than what the Turbo Tank is made out of, but I think the level of detailing within the compartments more than makes up for it. Give me about 20 minutes and I will take some pictures.

Ok, the pictures were focusing on the detail of the command consoles. If any of you want better pictures of the behemoth itself let me know, and I will add them.

The command screen inside the cockpit lights up with a blue LED.

The light inside the belly illuminates with a red LED whenever the klaxon goes off. (very cool btw).

Chin guns also light up with a red LED.

The "grappling hook" that Luke uses to "cut" into the main troop bay is very neat, and leads into a rather large section within the bay itself.

I was finally able to catch the department managers for toys at the Sparkman Dr, and University Walmarts. University is NOT getting any of the new Joes, but Sparkman will. However, they just started the reset tonight, and claim they won't have the new stuff out until late next week. Figured I would give a heads up.

For the record, I haven't talked to anyone at the Madison/South Pkwy stores, and I don't really plan to.

Did the University store have the RoC Joes in the clearance section or the main toy aisles? When I was there last night they were in the section where they had the school supplies. What bummed me out was they had the reset layout taped to the pegboard, and the Joes weren't on them. Plus I specifically asked the department manager about it, and she said they wouldn't be getting Joes until closer to Christmas. No big deal I guess, because I'll just go across the street to Target.

I mean the Vintage Figure auction alone he would have lost around $15, and that doesn't include all the listing fees he loses due to 80%(+) of his stuff not selling. Let's not forget about the time it takes to write everything up and mail the stuff off, plus the gas to run all over the place getting the stuff. Personally, my time is worth a hell of a lot more than a $5-$10 profit.

However, now that I think about it I would bet he is a salesman, and he gets paid to drive around. I wonder what his boss would think if he ever found out what he was doing. I should do some further investigation and find out where this guy works, and send his boss a nice letter.

This sorta brings up something else I was thinking about today. If this Scalper Dan guy wasn't such a douche about nabbing every little thing, and helped people out from time to time the rest of us would be working WITH him instead of getting him shut down. I used to see this sort of thing all the time while at retail. You act like a decent human being, and people will bend over backwards to try to help you.



I just got back from TRU, and they got ONE case of nonexclusive PoC and a case of Alphas. They also got a case of Vintage Star Wars, and 3 cases of Clone Wars figures. They did NOT get ANY Spirits, or Quick Kicks.

EDIT: I picked up 1xFirefly, and 1xAlley Viper. This brings my total to one of each figure except the Alley Viper which I have two of now.

Sorry guys I couldn't hook you up with those exclusives. I'll try again next week.

EDIT #2: Dang, I forgot to mention that the Hsv TRU got in the Iron Man 2 4-pack with the Army drones. Those bastards are freakin' huge too. I thought about getting one, but I almost puked buying the AT-AT yesterday so I couldn't justify another $25 on top of the Joes I picked up.
