I just dont get TRU, all the infratructure for resetting was done weeks ago, yet walls of pegs are just sitting there empty....do they just not physically not have the stock to fill the pegs yet or are they just lazy....other than the cashiers, wtf do TRU employees do all day??

Well, I guess I should have said the TJ Maxx didn't have anything. Our TRU gets shipments on Thursdays, so I'll be heading there on my lunch break.

You're right though, I'm not sure what TRU employees do because there always seems to be tons of them standing up front talking.

Walmart here frustrates me the most though. I think it makes things harder since I worked retail (deptmanager/inventory manager), and I see empty shelves/apathetic employees everywhere.

Ok, just got back from TRU. They have restocked their Sting Raiders (they have about 10), Arctic Assault Shipwrecks (about 5 of 'em), but no Arctic Assault Doc.

Transformers are looking pretty bare, and no sightings of the Animated Arcee/Rodimus/Cybertron Ratchet.

Absolutely no Build-a-Droid Star Wars figures, and only the Jedi peg warmers in the Saga Collection. CW collection was pretty well stocked, but I don't like those, so I didn't dig into them to see if they had the newest wave. No Scout Trooper w/ Speeder Bikes. They did have a Galactic Heroes Snowspeeder though, I left it since I don't collect those.

They do have the Iron Man 2 toys in though, and they look pretty freakin' awesome.

I walked through all of the toys, so if I didn't mention something you're interested in let me know.

I wish they would put the labels in obsure areas, or at least on the bubble where they can be removed easier. If they were in an unobtrusive part of the card I might just leave them on.

You should talk to TRU corporate about that crap, when the avg customer dont get what they want even when they come back many times they just stop going to TRU to look I think corporate would be very mad about that

That's exactly right. I've worked retail before (for 10 years roughly), and my managers always said that it's better to piss off one customer than 20. By keeping all that stuff in the back for ONE guy they are pissing off about 20 more. If you have proof of this I would definitely turn them in. You could talk to the store manager first, and then work your way up.

Do you know if this is going on in Huntsville? If you do I will bring this up to the management here.

I have called corporate three times and told them about this...especially since on Friday the store director (Robert) and the backroom manager (Patrick) both lied to my face about a particular item (item name withheld so that you guys don't go looking for it before I find it ;) ) I asked if it came in and they said yes but could mysteriously not find it int he back...only to have it show up on Daniel's auction on Sunday.

Check your local Ross stores. I just found the Assault on CI at the University Dr location, and Defense of CI at the Carl T Jones stores in Huntsville, AL.

The Target exclusive Iron Man 2 "Hall of Armor" figures are showing up now...found them at Decatur Target. They are $12.99 each and since they are pretty much all the same as the carded figures...I only got the Mark VI since he is painted correctly (unlike the carded version).

DC Infinite Heroes seems to be a dieing line and not a lot of people look for them.

I am looking for a newer DC Infinite Heroes 3-pack that includes Sinestro, Parallax, and Guy Gardner with a translucent green head. All three figures are somewhat new (the first two are in the new sculpt form). If anybody sees it...please hide it and PM me (if you are in central or north Alabama) be4cause that is the only thing I am looking for.

I just got back from Kmart, and they didn't have any of the Sinestro 3-packs. The only ones they had were the Batman/Scarecrow/Deadshot (x2), Harbinger/Shadow Demon/Shadow Demon (x1), and Green Lantern/Star Sapphire/Black Hand (x1).

However, they did have all their clearance toys off an additional 50%, and all GI Joes were $1.75. The Joes were NOT marked, but they scanned $1.75 at the register. I picked up Arctic Assault SE, Flash, and Cover Girl (for the laptop).

Kmart also had Tag books for $5 for those that have kids.

I also stopped by Big Lots, and they had no GI Joes. They said they get their truck on Friday though, but they don't know what's on it.

South Parkway Walmart had Bravo vehicles for $15, but they only had the Gunship. Again, the prices weren't marked, but they scanned that way. I checked the other stores, but they were still $25. I would definitely check your local stores by scanning the bar codes.

Targets have started receiving Prince of Persia 4 inch figures. Found them today in Decatur. Fit in well with other lines and not as bad as people have been ragging on them. I bought warrior Prince Dastan and Target exclusive desert Prince dastan with Dagger of Time power.

You really have to look long at the paint apps but when you find a superb one...it really looks like Jake Gyllen...Gillen.....the dude from Donnie Darko. I was worried I would like the warrior look better...but the desert look is really looking great.

Also...if you buy the ones from Target..they have a different case ratio as 4 of the ones in the case of 12 are Target exclusives of the Dagger of Time activating causing it to glow and Dastan's right arm to glow also.

My wife called to complain about the store back just after Christmas, and when the representative on the phone asked for the store # she responded with an "Oh, yeah we can't do anything about that particular store". The woman wouldn't go into details, but it was almost like they're not owned by TRU corporate or something. *shrugs*

One thing I do know is they claimed that they don't have to honor online promotionals, and that was confirmed by the representative on the phone.

What sucks is a very close family friend used to be the assistant manager there about 15 years ago, and it's times like these that make me wish she still worked there.

For those of you who know what Minimates are (little block like figures that are now only sold at Toys R Us and specialty shops)...I use to a forum moderator for Art Asylum.

Anyway DC had just launched their attempt into Minimates Market by having something Marvel didn't....building block sets called C3. Wal-Marts would carry them. The only Wal-Mart who got all sets in the entire state of Alabama was the one in Madison....and when I called the company to find out why...the Wal-Mart in Madison was a franchised store...like an experiment in individuals owning their own Wal-Mart chain. I thought that was wierd but when I visited it...it did have a lot of stuff you didn't see at other Wal-Marts. Now this was in 2003 and since then it seems like they carry the same junk as everywhere else.

Our TRU is, for the most part, pretty good about getting their exclusives. The only one they had a problem with was the ROC SRO sets and they did eventually get those in months after everyone else had them.

Unlike our Wal-Marts. I am in utter horror that the new Jabba with throne will be a Wal-Mart exclusive. We never saw the AT-ST or the ROC Battle Stations. I did get an AT-ST at Ross here, though, thanks to thomas76.

I just give them a stone cold stunner lol, the first Thor I got (for my personal collection) was taken out of the back stock room at Wal-mart by me but it was because they weren't putting them out yet til that night (maybe they said even though there was nothing on pegs) so I just went and got one for myself :P Passed one of my friends on the way out and he did a double take and was like "dude, what are you doing back here?" Just told him "This did not happen and you didn't see me. Your people in toy section just pissed me off"

Well, I really don't know what to think about this. I emailed TRU's corporate office asking about the Star Wars EU wave figures, and they responded by saying that the Huntsville store is NOT going to get them. Not only that but they also said that what's come in is all that their stores are going to get. Here is exactly what they said:

TRU Rep: I have already checked for your local stores and there are no orders pending. Therefore there will be no further distribution to the stores in your area. The A-team movie figures have hit Target in Decatur so the rest of Huntsville should have them. I seem to have contributed something productive to Hisstank as the DPCI numbers I investigated ended up on the first post in the toys thread.

I stopped by on Monday (or Tuesday..it's kinda blury), and asked a woman to check the back for the new stuff. She claimed that it was against policy for them to do that. Is that true, or does anyone know?

My wife and I ate at Hooters on Saturday afternoon and afterwards we went by the Target West store and I had them check for me....they even went to the back...since there was someinthe back...and none of the ones in back were the new ones...no coupon fronts.

I also checked Decatur today....no new Iron man 2 stuff and they desperatly need it as their pegs are starting to run dry.


You have to give the Target people the DPCI number for them to go get them out of the back as Target has somne sick fascination with sitting on figures instead of selling them as soon as they get them...figure they would want money as quickly as they can get it.


DPCI numbers are:

TARGET DCPI NUMBERS FOR THE A-TEAM

087-06-1423 = 3 3/4" figures
087-06-1032 = Van
087-06-1035 = 12" figures


You will have to talk to a Target team member to get them...otherwise you can wait a few weeks for them to get off their butts and put them out.

I'm fairly confident that Alabama will not be getting any more EU wave figures. However, I am also confident that those figures will return later on. I have a hard time believing that Hasbro would invest the money for them, and not have plans later on.

Btw, have any of you guys asked if Target has the PoC stuff in the back? I know it was mentioned that the distribution centers had the stuff there, and someone posted the DCPI numbers. I wasn't sure if they had started to trickle into the stores' stock rooms yet.

Of the six stores here I've only found Joes at 3 of them (Governor's Dr, 5-Points, and Athens). So if the store in Gadsden is pretty far from you I would call them first. Word of warning, most of the stores seem to have two toy aisles.

If you guys have a Tuesday Morning I would check there too. I've seen the Bazooka wave at all three here in Huntsville. Each store only has around four figures though, not sure why.

tehy all seem to have been ok, I think you just need to look at their feedback, but as long as you get the money and have good feedback it would be up to them to prove you wrong.

Also, customs can be tracked with the little form you get, but when I recently got a quote to Canada for a small package it was around $12, it used to be significantly cheaper.

Australia must be insane now too.

Also, countries/postal services hate working together expect American customs to baseball bat it to death, then the poeple who receive it will beat it since it is from America.

I guess I have just gotten use to all of us helping each other out in the Alabama area and now maybe I have taken that for granted as people in other states seem to just want to make a buck.

I was in B'ham yesterday and saw "The Last Airbender" figures that are also in scale with Joe stuff...but don't know a single thing about it and passed.

After working retail for as long as I have (and becoming a cynical bastard) I've stopped caring if people call me a jerk. I'd just /ignore them, and never respond.

I think you're right though that the Alabama collectors are better than most. I know those California guys are all pretty cut throat, because I sent a buddy of mine in L.A. looking for that Whiplash and he about got run over at TRU. Just so you know I have people in Reno, NV/L.A., CA/Madison, WI/Florence, AL/Atlanta, GA looking for you. I wouldn't stress so much about it.

I never got into the cartoon, but it's something my son would definitely be interested in.

The Airbender figures look amazingly good. Say what you will about Jazzwares (A-team figures) and Spinmaster toys (Airbender) but I think they are LEAPS ABOVE what we got last year from Playmates with Terminator Salvation and Star Trek.

I almost caved and bought the main character but I think my money is going towards an A-team van.

A little update.I am getting over some minor surgery I had yesterday.So,I am going to be out of commition for a while.The only thin I am looking for is the Space trooper for a buddy of mine.Iam set on the EU figures I wave as wellas Arcee.A big thanks to edhaskil for helping me out with them.

Just FYI...To any Joe collectors in the Bham area that scored some 25th's at Family Dollar, you certaintly deserve them! Went to 2 yesterday in the West End area and was literallty nervous for my life....

No problem, GI C, I hate that you found them the next day, but doesnt that always seem to happen?? Give up on something and get it on the secondary market, only to find it a retail the next day.

I usually go to Family Dollar after I cut the grass (or after changing the oil in my car) for that very reason. However, there are a couple of stores here that aren't in bad areas.
