So, I'll give the whole story.
I got a Firefly from Walmart. The Wave 13 one. I go, open it, cut out the filecard, begin setting it up on the stand. I go to turn its left hand... now we all know the hands turn... this one just snaps off at the peg. It's right hand turns fine, but left is now broken. <_< Now, normally I would return it to the store, but having butchered the packaging (I don't cut filecards out worth half a crap.) and Walmart didn't have a second Firefly, or any other figure I wanted at that. It was 90% pegwarmers... so I decide to contact Hasbro, figuring they may have a solution. They tell me to mail it back, send me a prepaid mailing label to print, cool! Then I read "They will replace it or send something of equal value." Now, that made me kinda hesitant, but a handless Firefly doesn't do me much good, and gluing it back on means I couldn't exactly turn the hand, leaving it very... crippled. Fastforward to today, my "replacement" comes in. Cobra Viper.
...another of these crooked-wristed bastards. My Walmart still had three on the shelf last I checked. I bought two for myself before, and regretted it quickly once I learned of their curved hands of oddness.
Honestly, is this really the best they could do? I mean, I know it's more than other companies would, but still. I feel like I wasted my time going to the post office and buying a mailer, I could have returned it to Walmart and got another generic pegwarmer as a replacement.
A viper... ugh.

yeah i would be a bit bummed out too man, i feel you though on not returning it since they didnt have another firefly like you wanted. i would think hasbro would send you a firefly seeing as they make them. just post a thread and im sure someone on the tank will help you out and sell you a firefly.

I don't really need a Firefly that bad at this time, it's just the point of being stuck with another Viper isn't really good in my book.

i would call hasbro and say look...i bougth a firefly i expect one in return. if they don't send you what you bought try legal recourse or something. At least thats what i would do. my local news has a thing where one of the people helps folks out with consumer problems. maybe try that route? i'm vindictive like that :)

I'm not really looking for anything right now, just waiting on the new stuff... and warmer weather so I can spraypaint again...
Honestly, I may send a complaint to em, but it's not exactly worth legal recourse over a figure, to me anyways. Better things to do with my time... well, maybe not better, but I'm stuck in college either way.

that hand snappage has happened to me. next time try to heat up the broken wrist with a blow dryer until the rest of the hand peg falls out or it is soft enough you can pry it out. then just super glue it back to the hand. usually it is stronger than normal if you do that.

So far out of the 3 things that I have returned to Hasbro, I have yet to get a replacement of the exact figure. The last time was when I sent back the original Cobra five pack because Baroness had 2 left hands. I wrote a very specific letter about how this is the only set that I want in return and will wait for it to be in stock if I need to. I got a letter back saying that it was taking a bit longer because of my request. I was beginning to get a bit worried because the Cobra 5 packs had kind of disappeared in my area. So the next time I saw one I bought it. Good thing too. When they did send a replacement set it was the Legions 5 pack which I had just bought. So I gave a co worker Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander and kept the rest. It actually worked out in the end...
But as stated before, I'm almost willing to bet that nobody gets the 'exact' replacement. I'm pretty sure they just grab something and throw it in a box and mail it.

Sorry to hear about Hasbro's screwup and your bad luck with the snapped hand. I love the 25th Viper but the hands really suck. I had to fix the hands on all my vipers and now im really happy with them. If you want just ship me the hands and ill fix em for ya.

Man... if they sent me that dinosaur, I'd get the entire thing turned a Cobra Blue, with a giant Cobra logo on the side, then I would find where the sound stuff is stored on it and find a way to re-record/reflash it somehow... it would be the ultimate killing machine... :D

I tried turning the head of my Snake Rooney figure thinking the neck joint was newness-sticky, but it just snapped off. I just ordered another one and will be sure not to turn any more stubborn joints..Man these toys are fragile.

I bought an Alternator Tracks a few years back that ended up having a piece missing from his gun. I contacted Hasbro and they sent me a box to send the whole figure back in. Before I sent it off I noticed on the label that they could choose to replace the figure with one of equal value and quickly decided the hell with that and kept the Tracks figure, fixed the gun handle with a piece of plastic. All I could see was Hasbro sending me back one of the thousands of Smokescreen Alts that were clogging the shelves.
I bet if you sent back a figure of equal or greater value Hasbro would throw a fit though lol.

I had a Black Snake Eyes do the exact same thing when they were first released (and somewhat rare at the time). Hand broke off at the wrist and I couldn't find my receipt, much less another one to replace it. Although I felt somewhat guilty doing it, I was able to return it in an extra Comic Pack with Storm Shadow for which I had a receipt.
I can't turn my Baroness' right hand and have yet to try since I don't want to ruin another figure that I won't be able to find anywhere.

For a $6.00 toy? C'mom now, get serious. You guys need to chill out with this stuff. If you were unhappy, return it and get another.
