Bazooka...

I've been watching some old VHS tapes I found that I recorded as a kid... I never realized how slow(dumb) they make Bazooka. I like him in the comics, but the cartoon makes him out to be a bone head...

Every cartoon has to have the big dumb guy, I think it's the law. So the brilliant minds behind the cartoon took the obvious route and made the big guy the dumb one.

Bazooka was teamed up with his buddy Alpine in the cartoon ,Alpine was witty and sarcastic from what i remember ,so he was the "mouth" of the outfit ,and Bazooka was just the big dumb muscle guy ,so you had the perfect combo of "brains and braun" ?

I hated that the Cartoon made him look so stupid. But I guess every kids show had to have an idiot to learn what not to do...

it just amazes me how none of this seemed odd to me when I was a kid??? Bazooka, barbecues voice, and just all the other stupid little inconsistencies in the cartoon...haha! I watch it now and just laugh at what an idiot I was/still am

I think having Bazooka as a dimwit made him seem more belivable,i find that characters with flaws are much more interesting and three dimensional .

If remember correctly, Bazooka was a SGT and Alpine was a Specialist, a rank below...
