Almost there…now I just need some decals.
There was some airbrush work originally on the plane that gave me some grief thus the “textured” looking parts…other than that I’m extremely happy with it.

Thanks for the link but I'm going to get a set from J.Ruben. I have bought some decals from GIJoeHeaven before and they are top-notch...
...They just don't carry the V1 Rattler set...

Looks awesome!!
I've got one of these sitting in the basement...I was waiting to see what others did with them, wasn't sure the route I was gonna take.
But...those colors, with the new Wild Weasel coming out = WIN!!
BTW: did you try a 25th anniv fig in the cockpit yet? I haven't....as was wondering how they fit.

You hit the nail on the head…
I’m planning to use the 25th Wild Weasel as the pilot for this rig. The only opened 25th fig I have is a pre-articulation fix Firefly and he won’t sit properly (all of my other 25th stuff is sealed). The cockpit is rather roomy in this thing so I imagine a new fig will fit fine if the movement thing is fixed.

Damn! Nice custom! I'm in the middle of making one of these bad boys myself, but I'm working on making a custom gun turrent like the original. I know what you mean about the textured area, I had to sand down the plane and primer it over again. Seeing yours, I wished I had the time to finish mine! HA

You're doing what I would have like to accomplished had I possessed the skills necessary to do so. A V1 type turret would be super sweet but I must admit my model making skills are lacking. As for sanding the plane down...Once again, too lazy. All-in-all it's pretty good even without the sanding. I had some overspray issues here and there because of the odd shape but I really don't know how that could have been avoided though...
I look forward to seeing some of your finished pics!

D'OH GRRRRR BAH BLAH GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
You totally beat my to this. I bought the plane months ago with this plan, even have the ruben decals in reserve...
But damn fine job anyway. Email a pic to marauder John when you're done, he will love to see "what might have been" if his custom blue version of this jet had been made.

That is a beauty!!!
Is that the 'somewhat' 1/18 Elite Operations T-bolt that is sold at ToyRus?
The scale is a vast improvement from the Hasbro Rattler, but not as accurate as BBI's Elite Force.
Nevertheless, A-10's are awesome.
It looks great in that deep blue. If I see another one I might have to go that route.
I was going to repaint mine to be TF Movie accurate.
I'm thinking of making a Army vs Scorponok DIO.
RIght now Iron Man is flying above my Warthog.

Looks great so far.
Were you able to get the winged Cobra stickers? Those would look awesome on the fuselage and wings.
Just a couple minor suggestions:
Paint the trim on the cockpit to add realism.
See if you can round up some ordinance from the original Rattler on eBay and find a good way to mount some heavies to the belly of that beast.
Can't wait to see her with her pilot Wild Weasel in the cockpit!
