Transformers Vs G.I. Joe Custom Contest!

This is the Official Thread for the G.I. Joe Vs Transformers HISS Tank.com Custom Contest.

This contest will be split into 3 different Category's:

Transforming G.I. Joe Vehicles

Rule #1: The Board Member who enters this contest must present a G.I. Joe Vehicle or Cobra Vehicle that Transforms into any of the many Autobots or Decepticons in the Transformers Universe.

Rule #2: The entry must use a known vehicle design from the G.I. Joe Universe. No original designs will be excepted. This does not mean your Transformers must be made from original parts. Your Transformer can be made from any materials you wish to use. The finished product must look like a vehicle design from the G.I. Joe Universe.

Rule #3: The Custom entry must be able to actually Transform.

Human/ Alien Characters From The Transformers Universe

Rule #1: The entry must be a Human or Alien character from the Transformers Universe.

Rule #2: The body of your figure must be made from G.I. Joe 25th/ Modern Era Body Style construction. You may change the head, gear, weapons, swap body parts, and add extra features to the body including paint.

Rule #3: All entry's must include a custom file card and bio information for the character you have chosen to enter. The file card design can be classic or one of your own design.

Transformers G.I. Joe Team Up

Rule #1: You must repaint 1 G.I. Joe or Cobra Figure and 1 Autobot or Decepticon. This will be your Team up!
The figures for this part of the contest can be from any G.I. Joe or Transformer Line in the History of the Brands.

General Contest Rules:

*You must be a member in good standing here on the Tank.

*No public dispute over the contest rules or custom entry's will be permitted. ALL concerns are to be done in the form of a Personal Message (PM) to any of the HISS Tank MOD's. Any board member who places any open dispute on the forums will be disqualified from the contest and will also not be able to vote to pick the winner.


*The contest will run through March 15th 2009, giving everyone enough time to get there submission in! Please do not wait for the last day to post your entry. We reserve the right to close the contest early.

*Limit of 3 entries per member. You can spread these out over 3 different threads, or list them all in the same thread. That choice is yours. When you are done posting your entry inside the custom's forum, place the link to your entry inside this thread.

*Each Member must post their own thread(s). For example, "you" and I couldn't post our customs in the same thread, but you can post all 3 of your customs in your own.

*MODS can enter, just can't win.

*We reserve the right to change the rules for any reason at anytime. The contest is for fun and will always be run that way.

The Staff will pick the top 10 Finalists. Then YOU the members of HISS Tank.com will vote and decide who the top 3 in each category will be.

After the top 3 are decided in each section of the contest there will be a second vote to decide the over all winner of each contest.

Yeah, I was just looking at my Universe Hound & thinking Cobra Stinger.

Or make movie leader Brawl into the Mauler.

Or cut the engines off Universe Powerglide/Stormcloud put them on the wings. And get an extra engine & stick it on the back to make a Cobra Rattler.

Personally, I couldn't be bothered. Too much trouble. The prizes aren't worth the effort. Just my opinion.

that are "close" -- does it count if you just pick ANY
tank and repaint it as a MOBAT?

transformer, could I use one of the Lanard toy's
versions instead, as long as in the end it looked like
a Fang, more or less? (not sure if I could get the
bubble cannon on the nose for example)

Also, what if in vehicle mode you have a sculpt that
is dead-on for Joe universe but the paint isn't because
of the robot mode colors needed for the Transformer?
Some leeway given here?

You can use any parts you need to make your Transformer work. Just make the Vehicle Mode look like a vehicle from the G.I. Joe Universe.

I'm going to give it a go... a transforming Cobra vehicle. It probably won't look pretty, but in order to make it look good I'd have to be into plastic toy manufacturing...

1) Are we allowed to add or switch parts from the Joe vehicle to make a modified version? For example, could I change the gun on a FANG to a camera, or add miniguns to a Firebat?

2) Does the Joe vehicle have to be the same color as the standard version? For example, would it be ok to paint a RAM pink?

3) Do the robot parts have to come from an actual Transformer, or can it be from any robot line such as EXO-Squad?

The following are for the second category:
1) Saw you mention Black Spiderman. Does that mean ANY character that has appeared in a crossover with the TFs qualify as being from the Transformers Universe?

And for the category 3 questions:
1) Can the characters be original or another series? As long as one is made of 25th parts, and the other is a Transformer? For example what if I wanted to make a 25th Mr. T with a Transforming Van?

2) What about if say the character I want to do is linked through another character to the Joe universe?

Yes as long as it looks like the FANG and or the FireBat when finished.

I think its best to stick with the original colors for the Vehicle shell but the robot colors can be as needed.

All Parts are fair game.

Yes

They must be from the G.I. Joe and Transformers Universe. If you decide to do a character that is not well known it would be best to point out where they showed up in said universe.

The character must have made an appearance in any from of Media in the G.I. Joe or Transformers Universe.

See, this is what I thought too. I'm not really interested in making more specific Joe vehicles into transformers. I've already done a Landmine to AWE Striker and Powerglide to a Rattler. But I'd love to see a GI Joe/Transformers crossovers done in the style of how we have the Marvel Legends/Transformers crossovers. That way you can have TONS more creativity involved. Imagine an Arcee-to-Zarana, or a gang of TF motorcycle Dreadnoks with leather fringe and saddlebags. There's your winning contest.

well i have taken the plunge. i started cutting up a vintage 20 year old joe vehicle. hold up thats crazy. that thing was sitting up in someones attic for like 20 years and then i buy it off ebay. it sits on my shelf for about a year and then one day a guy takes a dremel to it. poor toy.
at first i wasnt going to do this contest, i was really disapointed with the hiss tank contest. and i thought this was past my skill level. but for some reason after looking at some of the early entries i figured what the hell. all i have is a image in my head and some pretty big plans. wish me luck. If it comes out like i hope it will, it will be freakin awsome.

Decepti-Cobra Xeno-Bio Integration program: Success

Due to the recent events ( see 'Megatron Incident' and 'Starscream is not to be trusted') we here at the labs have had a low turnout of volunteers for this program. I am sure there would be more support if I was to go public with the knowledge that Cobra has been implanting a Bonding program into the Xeno-morph robots while they under going the Cobra vehicle fittings. This makes them more loyal to a human host and obeying orders. Mindbender keeps demanding to be part of this program, I told him he was refused until he puts a shirt on, nincompoop.

Croc master is not the typical cobra trooper, communication was a best loud breathing and grunts.

Ripjaw is a Predacon( a more beastly descendent race of Decepticons) And a single minded robot. After reprogramming I found this creature to be no less docile, or obedient.

Bonding Process: Usually I like to use the Brainwave Scanner I retooled but in this instance something else happened. Both subjects began wrestling with one another, while in the reptile habitat. I thought they were going to kill each other. After a time both subjects were seen chewing through the walls and have not been back in the lab since.

"At times I am bothered by some of my more recent experiments this lab has been conducting. I'm building alien monsters to take over the earth, led by men and machines I cannot trust. I feel like Dr. Frankenstein when I'm told my subjects escaped through a hole in the wall and are terrorizing the locals . God I love my job!"

Here is my entry for the GI Joe VS. Transformers custom contest.

SIDESWIPE and CLUTCH in disguise.

After COBRA brought the Transformers back on line SIDESWIPE regained part of his memory. He then requested to be assigned to the CRIMSON GUARD which COBRA COMMANDER allowed. He was quickly given experimental upgrades for the STINGER model and ushered off to SPRINGFIELD, MA.

After COBRA left the ARK, TELETRAN 1 reactivated several TRANSFORMERS one of which was ARCEE. ARCEE then reviewed the security recordings of the ARK, and set off to try to rescue her brainwashed commrads. After stumbleing upon a small GI JOE force she explained the situation to the team leads SCARLET and CLUTCH.

The mission was a success infultrateing the terrorist cell in SPRINGFIELD and with the help of a fully re-programmed SIDESWIPE, CLUTCH was able to eliminate the terrorist cell and seize their equipment. The equipment that it turned out that needed to be studied the most was SIDESWIPE himself to determine if in fact the new STINGER design has any weaknesses that can be exploited.
