Hello everyone. I have been making dioramas with Sigma 6 Joes for the past year. I'm a former 12 inch scale man-- I find the 8 inch figures much more interesting and easier to work with. I'll be posting pics here on Hisstank in a few days. I use shadow boxes and crates from Craft Stores like Michaels, create scenes for the Sigmas and hang the boxes on my wall. It's an awesome way to display the toys and I'm thinking it could catch on. Just wait till you see. Well, I've pretty much exhausted all the legit figures in the line, now I'm looking to hack some of the figures up, sculpt, repaint, and customize. HOW?
My first question concerns the very basics of de-construction and re-assembly. I've read you should put the figures in hot water before pulling them apart. Is that true? What's the "cleaniest" way to swop heads, arms, legs, hands? Then, what tools do I need? What materials are required and how does one mold facial features onto the figs?
ALL ADVICE WELCOME!
