So why weren't these spirits passed through the spirit realm?

Yeah, each spirit was tied to an object. A roman coin, a necklace and a ring. These items were importaint enough to the spirits that they couldn't rest until the items were buried properly. In the case of the American fighter pilot, he didn't even know he was dead

liked the episode and it gives me chills at the ending with the pilot and his girlfriend flying away into the netherworld as Wild Bill just watches.

my problem with it is if they were ghosts and could walk through walls and such how can their ammo (manly the pilot) be deadly to the Joes ? i mean won't the bullets just pass right threw them ?

The bullets were "soul" energy, what I figured anyways, and as such would be harmful to anything with a soul.
