Resolute - why so short?

Not sure if this has already been discussed, but - has there been an explanation as to why Resolute will be so short (1 hour in length)? It doesn't seem like a decent story could be put together in such a short amount of time, and in such small episode increments (5 min.). Do you think this is more of an experiment to test the waters, and if it does well, there could be a future extension? Just trying to understand the point of all this. I hope it's more than just pointless action sequences (I do like mindless action, but still...).

Just a guess, but I think its like when the SW Clone Wars mini episodes first aired. Hopefully just a taste of thing to come.

there are many great hour long tv shows that tell great stories in that time (which is actually about 42 minutes after commercial breaks), so I am not sure why Resolute can't tell a great story in a full 60 minute period.

the only problem with the resolute line is all the collectors that support GI joe from the 80s only. Gi joe can not evolve, chainge or modernize at all, in their opinion. And if it does they just wont buy it! yes it's their right to do so but if there is enough of them they will do more damage to the line than good.

If you support gi joe buy the resolute stuff (leave the troopers for me though) and if you don't like it donate it to the kids then it's an investment in the future of the line.

That statement only applies to those who can afford to do that.

Animation is not as cheap to produce at it was in the 80's, and toys sales were a lot better then too. It was very easy for a company like Hasbro to commission 40 or so 1/2 hours of television. Today though, not so much. It's a test. If the show does well it will be moved to TV, and does well I mean, generates enough interest to bring on sponsorship when they sell it to a network and moves a lot of figures off the shelves as well. If these two items don't happen Resolute is done.

Well I hope the test goes well. I'd like my son to be able to enjoy GI Joe like I did. I have been acquiring all the 80s cartoons for him as well as the Sigma 6 stuff so he can appreciate good cartoons. We had our 80s GI Joe and now they have to modernize it for the Gen X kids of now. We didn't have iPods and cell phones like every other kid does now.

There'd have to be some major improvements to the Resolute figures before I buy another. I have no problem with the evolution of GI Joe, but I won't buy what I deem shitty looking toys.

Or if you have no interest in the resolute or movie stuff, please let it sit on the shelves so Hasbro can determine just how many Joe fans out there were only interested in buying the 80's remakes. Here's to hoping Resolute does not become just another VvV, Spytroops or Sigma 6. I didn't support any of those lines either and it's obvious that not many other Joe fans did either or there would have been no need for a Resolute line.

I really like the Resolute Trooper. I'll be glad to troop build him. I can't wait for Resolute; all I can do is hope for the best... a TV series would be fantastic.

The Resolute trooper is awesome. I can't wait to see some of the other upcoming Resolute figures. I believe there's supposed to be a Resolute Zap coming out.

It's an hour long so it doesn't overstay its welcome like other series. Transformers Armadaverse comes to mind.

There's been some excellent animated shorts in recent years - the ones that come to mind are the Clone Wars and Animatrix, but there have been others. I have high hopes for Resolute. I can't wait to find the figures!
