Wave 5 at retail!!

I basically canvased the entire West side of Phx, AZ this afternoon- from Bell Road down to Bethany Home- and at my last stop was able to find nearly all of Wave 5 on the pegs!

I cannot express how elated I was to find these- especially when Wave 4 is still a no-show in my area. I just wanted to make board members aware that these ARE out there, and let the hunting begin!

The release of these figs has got to be the oddist i have ever seen in a toy line.I guess it is keeping scaplers on their toes.I'm a collector and have no idea on the release of these toys.

With previous waves (excluding wave 2, I think), BBTS was pretty good about getting figures to early pre-orderers soon after they were first sighted at retail. However, if you didn't pre-order early, you might be waiting a while, as they also have allowed more pre-orders than stock initially received.

I picked mine up at the Walmart on Bethany Home Rd and 19th Ave. They had a nice gaggle of Waves 2 and 3 out, but somehow a mostly complete set of Wave 5 made it out on the pegs also, so I (understandably) snagged 'em. Oh, and in case you plan to go out to this store immediately in the hopes that they replenish their stock hourly, I'd give it 24 hours before trying again, as their Wave 5 figs are g-o-n-e.

Oh, and sorry I have yet to post pics. I know many of you have been kind enough to load pics when I've wanted to see things, so when I get a chance I'll try to take one.

Nice find! I work right down the street from that crap-hole of a Wal-Mart and they never have jack when I pop in for lunch. Oh well, at least I was able to find Wave 4 last week at the Wal-Mart at 44th and Thomas (closer to home). I'll check there tomorrow for Wave 5.

The wave 5 figs are already on ebay. They probably showed up late yesterday because no one has bid on them yet. The seller seems to have two of each figure.

I wasn't able to find Gold Destro or Black costumed Snake Eyes from Wave 5, but thankfully the rest were there. I'll predict that Gold Destro is going to be the hard one to find, at least until more of these show up at retail in late 2007 and early 2008.

I just want more people to be able to find Wave 5. I know how utterly soul-deflating it can be to travel from store to store throughout the weeks and find nothing, so I want these to be out there en masse for the true fans.

I decided to open Snow Job this afternoon and wanted to share a few thoughts.

Hasbro has completely blown away all expectations with these figures (the 25th line in general), Snow Job not least of all. SJ was always a favorite of mine from the 80's lineup, and now he's jumped right to the top of my list. The detailing is incredible- removeable ski mask, parka hood, various pouches, belts, and military accoutrement. This figure is done completely proud in every possible way.

I couldn't have asked for anything more from Snow Job, and if- years from now- he's ever remade, the technology would have to be pretty incredible to outdo this version.

This bodes extremely well for another of my highly anticipated favorites- Torpedo. I've seen the one pic of him online (as has every other Joe fan by now), but one pic does not a review make, so I'm looking forward to more information on this guy.

Hope this helps some of you in tiding you over even slightly until you can track down Wave 5 at retail.

Ah, a West-sider. Well over here in the EV, I've found a ton of Serpentor and Lady Jaye at the different Wal-Marts and Targets. Just did some latenight shopping there and they (along w/ hooded CC) are all I can find.

Although, I did find a Kay-Bee that had a few from each of the first 3 waves but none that I needed so I threw them back.

I also see the arm articulation problem is still not fixed after 5 waves, when will hasbro use double joints in the elbows???? what goed is a gun if the figure can't hold it properly. Who cares if it adds 0.2$ to the price, it not like collector's will not buy them then!

You must have left one CG behind, because I swung by that Wal-Mart today and he was the only Wave 5. I'm glad to have him! A much better figure in hand than the initial pictures suggest!

Yeah, I'd love to be able to pay $5 for each of these. As it stands, I'm usually paying at least $12. That's Europe for you I guess - where I don't think anyone selling them.

However, the arm articulation is fine, particularly for the latest figures - with Beach Head and Firefly for instance it works just fine. If Hasbro were to use double elbows they'd most likely then skimp on the bicep swivel.

These can't come soon enough.

Got a full wave 5 and 3 extra CG's today at Walmart in SLC, Utah.

Surprisingly, as sad as it sounds...SE having the true black treatment makes him my fav in the wave. Add second uzi and tuck v2 sword in his webgear back and it is beautiful!

I assumed based on what I've been reading online lately that CG was 2 per 'case', but maybe that's not true. Even though I wasn't directly trying to lessen their supply and screw fellow fans, I purchased two myself. Perhaps they put out extras, or someone was considering a purchase and put it back? Regardless, I'm glad that you snagged one!

This is an extremely good question, Firefox. The knee articulation makes sense for those extreme leg poses, but these figures can hardly hold their weapons in reasonable poses w/out stressing their wrist joints- especially odd since the 80's Joes had zero problem with this issue.

Please Hasbro- double joint the elbows on future Joes!
