This looks like it it might be easy to power the LEDs. I think it would look cool if you could get it lit up...

Argh! I've been planning on hooking up a 25th BAT, I just can't get the stones up to drill/open a BAT...they're kinda rare around these parts... I might have to get jumping on this:)

Damn someone stole my idea. I had this whole plan to do a custom battle damaged B.A.T. with a red LED for his eye. I wanted it to look a bit like the Terminator's eye on the T-800 endoskeleton.

I even have an idea about using the backpack to hide the batteries and the switch I want to use.

The only problem is that I don't have the tools and don't trust my skills as a customizer.

Scoped out the pic on eBay and I'm not impressed. This looks lie it'll be a difficult custom unless you stick with illuminating the chest. The head is just too small to effectively add an LED and still have it look good.

Good luck to those who try this out, it will be impressive indeed should you pull it off.

I agree that the head is pretty small to try this on. Trying to make it look good would be a challenge. My idea was to drill the hole into the head from both the front and the back instead of going all the way through from one side. I would make the hole in the back of the head big enough for the LED to slide into. The hole in the front of the head would be alot smaller, about half the size of the hole in the back or smaller, just so some of the red light can shine through. I don't like the look of the LED popping out through the face.

I don't know, looks a little silly. Maybe lights on the chest, but not on the head.

I like your idea Scoop. It'd look pretty good that way...like you said just a big LED sticking out of the face sucks.

Micro LEDs would look better since they are way smaller but getting a circuit board cut small enough to fit along with the micro LED and then powering it would be a feat...

You don't really need a circuit board would be nice but its not necessary and you can save some room. You can just weld the components via wires. But doing this in a 25th would be much hard. This ARAH wouldn't be so difficult. Drill one small whole from the base to pass the LED wires then the wire would be inside the chest and you add the battery there. Then just find a spot to stick out the switch button.

Reason I said board is to elmintae a lot of the wiring and it could be shapped to the chest plate, but how are they powering it? Running cables down its leggs? LOL

Has to be a 25th or it don't count!

Looks ok, but yeah the LED is too big. At least it looks recessed a little, like it was pushed in through the back of the head. To run power, I would use small single pin terminals from a pc case on each of the two LED leads. I would then use 0.5mm wire to run power to the backpack. (he says Sonic Fighters backpack will be included for mods also). The gray buttons on the backpack could power the LEDs. Just replace the little speaker with the LED wiring, and it should light up right? Sorry I'm a dork about things like that.

Looks like someone was trying to cover up some BB damage.

Hmm sonic fighters backpack is pretty good idea however it detracts from the look a sit is too big! There has to be some micro crap out there to use to make this work!

I wonder if it would look better with fiber optic wires, like the ones on those cheap christmas trees.

Yeah, but painted black and trimmed with B.A.T. attachments sticking out of it, it might look ok. Maybe you could take apart a car remote to get smaller electronics???

I would agree with this point, they should have stuck to the chest area the head doesn't look quite right with that big ole light coming out of it

Actually the LED in the head doesn't seem so bad when you imagine a battle-damaged BAT. Sort of like an optic beneath his face shield has been exposed from an explosive. But I think red might look better.

Hollowing out the head and then cutting some clear red plastic and putting in a white/red LED inside its head would look hella cool!

Fiber optics are ideal because they are so small. A power source would be easy to hide in his body. If anybody needs a BAT or two to try this, PM me for trade.

That's sharp. Would be cool if it could lights up in the dark. Still, a very superb job to TTT.

Heh, I just saw this for the first time 10 min. ago, searched eBay for custom BATs...not too bad.
Someone out there is taking a stab at it LOL !

Lights would be cool but I can't remember any BATs having lights.
I would rather have a mini smoke machine of some sort, THAT would be cool :D

Smoke machine? Sounds difficult to get to that scale. TTT's blow this thing away and then some. If anyone can accomplish this, from what I've seen, it's you man. Maybe a small dual chamber in a chest. One half of the chamber would hold a small piece of dry ice, about 10mm in length and the thickness of a pen. The other chamber could hold just a few drops of water. Hook up some kind of valve in between that will allow the water to drop onto the dry ice, and...smoke.

Maybe the valve could come from the fuel system on an RC car? You could also use the cannisters from 2 in-line RC fuel filters for the chambers. Told you I'm a dork. Was working on cars way before collecting Joes.
