I was just getting ready to check out some old school saturday morning cartoons on Nostalgia Manila, and when it brought up the sight there was a link to this place:

http://www.agapetoons.com/Store_G_to_L.html

It seems they have almost every cartoon series that that I want and that is either way expensive, out of print, or not yet released commercially!

I put in an order, just to see what kind of quality this guy has but I thought you guys might dig it?

Also if anyone has done business with them before, I'd love to hear some feedback on them.

Wow. I'm tempted.

Still, I wonder how that site is still up. Must be flying under the radar, because that is almost preposterously illegal. Still, points for thumbing his nose at the man to that guy.

Wow, he's trying to be covered by legality but somehow I doubt that the GI Joe cartoon is considered public domain since it's obviously copyrighted and owned by Sony (Last I heard) And I'm pretty sure Justice League is still owned by Warner Brothers since they just put out a DVD set in March

I wonder though if I'm even allowed to be on his site? I work at an Network Affiliate TV station, I think I broke his first rule :D

At least a few of those series are not out of print or rare. But just generally, I would tread carefully around there. . .you have no way of checking the legitimacy of this guy.

Some of these series are in limbo (like Gobots) ...others have license holders...like X-Men Evolution (a WB incomplete release), Spiderman & His Amazing Friends (Disney, no plans at this time) & He-Man & The MOTU 200X (coming from BCI in 2008) & should not be on there. The main problem is there is NO feedback or critiques page or even when it was last updated... & no pictures of the ACTUAL product, just a lot of "talk" about how great the stuff is from the seller, & even for bootleg DVD-R's this seems very inexpensive. Similar stuff goes on Ebay for much higher start prices. I would say buyer beware, but if you do buy something & are satisfied, you should let us know... ALTHOUGH, I'm pretty sure this thread goes against the forum rules & will be shut down shortly as it's not an "offical" release...

I think I'm going to do the same. There are some awesome cartoons.

Just ordered the Joe season 1 set for $20...if it's a wash I only lose $20, if not I got the entire 1st season for mad $$...

I look at it this way, the fans wan these cartoons and the companies that hold the license to them are being morons. I ALWAYS but licensed copies of shows/movies but when their not available or buying the real box sets costs more than some houses...this is the action I take...

Let us know how it turns out because I think its a great alternative to not having them released at all.

Don't worry about that...just give me a week or so to get it in. I'll take detailed pics of it and do a review.

Like I've said elsewhere...I'd rather have an official release of the sets but I'm unwilling to pay the absurd $$ the OOP Rhino sets are going for.

If they'd only reissue them...

Well many of us Transformers fans are waiting for them to rerelease a Special Edition of Season 1 of TFs but that doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. Season 1 of G1 TFs was released on a poor set by Rhino. Sony now has the rights so who knows.

I've REALLY been leaning towards this set here:

I guess with a bit of tinkering you can get it into English and the quality os supposed to be really good. It's all over eBay for less than the Amazon asking price BTW...

A friend of mine got that box. IT'S NICE! I don't know about the episode quality but the set looks really nice. I just have the Rhino sets.

I have the Rhino G1 Season 1 box set but none of the others. I became jaded when they started splitting the seasons into 2x$40 boxes...

Then Star Trek the Next Generation was released @ $100/season and it made the TF sets prices look like a joke...

Sony no longer holds the rights to the TF series...the division that owned it closed this year and the rights for TF, GI Joe, & others are now up for grabs.
They had this Chinese Transformers Box Set for sale at Botcon 07 at a table that carried a lot of China/HK goods (like Roadbots). They had an open version that showed it came with a cards, & I believe a keychain for around $75, and the case was of that DVD tin material. I have to say I had a couple guys with me who did not own the precious Rhino releases (as I do) & for the life of me have NO IDEA why they didn't snap this up. @_@

I know that for some of you I'm about to sound stupid, but why don't you just go to a torrent site and download them and burn them to disc (I did, and mine are perfect)!

I agree that torrents are good in the meantime to get a quick fix. But hopefully "Official Releases" with all the bells & whistles will come out eventually. I know the original Joe 1st 2 Mini Series set by Rhino was really cool with that exclusive Snake Eyes attached, ...went and bought it on day 1.

Yes that is pretty stupid. Being a Star Trek fan I ended up paying only $20 for some blank DVD-R and recorded both Star Trek TOS and TNG. Would the special features have been cool, yeah but shelling out $100 for each season is a little steep.

I don't think your stupid, your brillant. :D
Where are these torrent sites? If you could PM me about it that would be great. We are fans of these shows and cartoons you would think companies would release them for us.

Ok, so I ordered my first item from these guys right after I first posted this thread on Saturday morning. I ordered the Transformers season 3 and 4. It is now Monday at 6:00 and it was already in my mailbox!! The box art is still frame shots of various scenes and it has an episode list on the back.

The quality in my opinion is.......OUTSTANDING!! considering these are "copies". I definitely recommend ordering from this guy based on my experience so far!!

Side note: I'm extra giddy right now because I have been waiting to see season 3 since I first saw the movie in 1986! and now I have it in front of me for $21 bucks shipped!

I hope this guy hangs around for awhile.

I have that Transformers set and it is really nice. The quality is excellent and it just takes a few menu clicks to get English playback.

That's a great question and I wondered that myself? I just ordered Thundarr the barbarian and I know that hasn't ever been officially released. I'll post my findings here as soon as I get it (which should be Wed. based on what I've seen so far). I also just emailed them asking about combined shipping and if the "bonuses" that they offer on certain sets were interchangeable? ( ex. I would much rather have g.i.joe the movie instead of spytroops the movie)

Dang it... I'm offering the GI Joe line, but not at his price... plus my copies aren't as pretty as his are. I just make strait disk to disk copies from the originals... might have to give up on offering it as long as he's in business.

Are his DVD rips?

How does his Sunbow season two look?

Here are my results so far:

Transformers season 3/4 = Excellent quality!, very fast shipping!

Thundarr the barbarian = Great quality, recorded from the boomerang channel, shipping took 4 days.

Herculoids = good quality, a few of the episodes are glitchy, shipping took 4 days.

Fantastic Four (93 movie) = ordered wed. still awaiting arrival.

As far as communication goes, I emailed them about 2 weeks ago about combining shipping and substituting the "bonus disc" on a few of his items and I have yet to hear back?

I thought I'd try out Joe Season 2 Took 6 days to ship (I ordered on a Friday and it's the holiday season) The quality is alright, I can see pixellation here and there and there a couple of glitches, nothing too bad, overall it's a bit fuzzy. I'll pick up a clear studio quality DVD if they ever release it since I'm realizing, I remember seeing most of these episodes from my childhood (I think I got real big into Joes around 85-86, even though I had been playing with them for a few years previously :) )
