This is a good sign. If all is stable, we should be next.
My PayPal account is burning up to get this FSS started.

Originally I wasn't going to do the FSS, mainly because I wasn't even a member. But Im leaning more and more toward doing it now. And the figures I don't want, in pretty sure I can make my money back on them.

When the Joe store does come up what will be for sale? Carded Footloose, Signed Carded Footloose, loose Footloose, and 2012 Con hat and shirt.
Is that it or is there more. I know the newsletter said something about it, but I misplaced it..... Anyone know?

Word at the con was $25 per figure plus shipping, and since the club gouges on shipping I'd assume at least $7 per shipment of 2 figures, so basically on the low end expect the whole thing to cost $342.

didn't they say that the expected price of no more than $25 that they reported all along before the con was more likely to be going up now since all other figures went up? I seem to recall them saying that at the club roundtable.

I'm sorry, as much as I like the club. This year has been about nothing but a cash grab for them. The almost 15% jump in the con set, the $100 for the Indy truck, $75 for the dragonhawk, thirty for the parachute fig, the extra 25 GTs at an extra $100 a ticket. They are getting greedy. I hope the low resale cost of the con vehicles cuts into speculators and reduces sell thru next year to help reign in the club's price gouging.

What they said during the roundtable discussion was that when they originally quoted us $20-25 a figure that was based on an estimate they received from the Chinese manufacturer 8 months ago, and that they actually weren't sure what the cost to manufacture would be anymore because the price of fuel/plastics has gone in the last 8 months.
Then later that day, I had a discussion with one of the club employees who told me that right now they were thinking it was leaning toward being closer to the $25 mark now.
Ultimately though, I think this is just gonna come down to what they feel comfortable with as a profit margin. Because, even if they only did a manufacturing run of say 500 of each figure there is no way in hell it costs them anywhere near $25 a figure to get them manufactured. I hope they are intelligent about this though, because if they out price themselves they are just putting themselves up to more scrutiny and having the FSS be a massive failure financially could be really detrimental to the future of their business.

Probably a can of worms I don't wanna open, but what happened with MOTUC? I've heard that Matty collector sucks, but that's all I've heard.

Jeez... Where to start?
Mattel has recently upped the price on MOTU figures to around 25-27 dollars, and they're wanting people to invest in the whole years worth of figures instead of people just buying what they want. In addition to this, only a few months worth of toys will be shown at a time. You are in essence paying for several waves of figures you may not care about and have no idea what they will look like until they're ready to be released. Mattel also has a problem with releasing obscure characters before doing needed updates to well known characters. It would be like if Hasbro didn't do a ME Jinx but did an Ice cream Soldier.
Plus characters they have done, not everyone has or was able to get a hold of them. There are still people that don't have a He-man figure from a fucking MOTU line and that is inexcusable.
Doesn't help that Mattel has notoriously bad QC. Figures with two left feet, right leg on left side, left on the right. No hands, missing accessories, bleeding paint apps. And it's not like the Amazon Joes or anything like that, this happens a whole lot with Mattel.
Mattel has crap customer service which makes the previous problem even worse. Oh and Mattel has stated that they pretty much don't give shit about the line and if it doesn't meet the minimum number of people devoted to buying a whole years worth of figures, the line is gone.
I swear, as much as TF and Joe fans complain about Hasbro, those are nothing compared to Mattel. I have never seen a Toy company hate it's products and handle them as badly as Mattel. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell they completely screwed the DC line up, though I'm pretty sure it has to do with releasing a repainted Batman in just about every line and too many Green Lantern related Characters.

Man, it does sound like Mattel sucks. I just want the GJCC to get their store up and running. I wanna buy a Footloose. Seems like their QC is okay from what I've seen.
