No offense but what a crap cartoon! Tunnel Rat was a bumbling idiot and the weird Asian animation is just the last kind of animation I would choose for GI Joe. I don't know anything about Sigma 6 so I took time to look up the figures on yo Joe....the figures aren't my taste but I can see the appeal....but man that cartoon...ughhh...

This is an old topic I'm sure but since I have never even seen a Sigma 6 figure nor heard of it until last year, it's new to me. What say you? Do I need to give it a chance? I watched the vacation in Vegas episode if that matters.

I remember being angry the figures went that direction but I watched the show one morning...It sucked...caught a few episodes on the Hub...It still sucks! It is terrible...Tunnel Rat is so annoying that you feel your stuck in a Lupin the Third spin off! In my opinion It is even worse than the Dic cartoons and thats hard to do!

First, the first 18 months of Sigma Six was freakin AMAZING toys. I know not everyone cares for figures larger than 6", but as far as the quality? One of the BEST action figure lines of the past 10 years, IMO.

The Show...eeh...
It was still a hell of a lot better than Transformers fans were subject to between Energon and Cybertron at least.
Second season, however (episode 13-ish on) is a VAST improvement, so I'd at least suggest watching some of those.

The 8 inch ARAH inspired toys are some of the best action figures EVER made. The show sucked though.

I watched parts of a couple of S6 cartoons the other day and had to turn it off. Cheesier than some of the Sunbow stuff.

Try watching the first three episodes of the second season. Those were decent, especially the third one. And yes, vacation was terrible.

The light hearted attitude of the show kills me! Everyone is cracking jokes and doing that voice over crap where they say out loud every single thought process they have. "Oh no, Cobra infected the system with a virus and I cant microwave my tacos!!!" That gets to me.
I do think the animation quality is absolutely awsome! The vehicles where bad ass.

I may end up watching all of the episodes because I heard the vehicles were awesome. I never really got into the S 6 toys, but I thought they were cool.

Sigma 6 was garbage about the only cool part of the cartoon I liked was the robotic dog but at that point i had forgotten it was even a G.I.JOE related cartoon.. my best advice for sigma 6 is.. this was intended for kid's ages 4+

I like some of the accessories that came with the figures and their takes on some of the characters....the Recondo figure looks cool and I'm digging shipwrecks tats. I could've seen myself wanting a few ofthese as a kid. I'm not really sure about the larger figures though. I do remember not liking the sgt. Savage figure I got one Xmas as a kid.

The vehicles were awesome, its too bad they were not in scale with ARAH figures.

Versus Snake-Eyes dressing as a back up dancer in drag during ARAH series?

Sigma is not for me as a cartoon, but the kids love it, the style was the cartoon rage briefly too. There are skeletons in all incarnations of Joe's closets...

The R.O.C.C. and the R.H.I.N.O. are. And the Dragonhawk and Vamp are just a small mod away from carrying ME figures.

It was a sad attempt to update and modernize Joe by giving it an already tired Anime feel. I have a hard time with a Real AMERICAN Hero being updated by making it more like Anime. Racist comments notwithstanding, it suffered from some hideous voice-work, worse character design (seriously think THAT iteration of Scarlett could do damage to anyone?) and overly complicated animation that would more often than not shoot itself in the foot.

The largest problem with it is that it did not so much have an "I am not taking myself too seriously" approach as it had an "I'm taking myself wayyyy too seriously"... except whenit doesn't.

It did not know what it wanted to be...

i thought the toys were pretty sweet, but only bought a few, but much like everyone selse the cartoon is absolute TISH.

I was specifically referring to the latter two. And that Cobra Firebat jet, I really liked that design as well. If I ever find a decently priced Dragonhawk I will snatch it up and try to fix that cockpit.

The cartoon was indeed god awful and whoever was involved should be ashamed of themselves. But damn those toys were refreshing. I really wish they would try that again.

I watched it for the first time also on the Hub Network. It reminds me of Pokemon-style anime. I watched that episode when they were in vegas, i want to give it a chance. I'll watch a few more episodes but I still keep watching the old ARAH episodes

Sigma Six showed up during one of my "off" years as a Joe fan. I recall getting pretty excited when the show first came on thinking that it might be a great way to get me back into the hobby and was a bit let down. Having said that, I'm always happy when anything JOE pops up, from bad cartoon to disappointing feature film.

Sorry, but that cartoon was pure crap. Renegades was a million times better all around. I'm a little ashamed that I even watched Sigman 6, honestly.

I watched about half of an episode once. About the same amount of time I needed to see how awful Renegades was.

I tried to watch with alcohol. Now my wife needs to explain another black eye to her friends. Does anyone have any meth? It may make the show better.

The DIC cartoon version is a masterpiece compared to Extreme, Sigma-6, Spy Troops, Valor vs. Venom.

I just saw this yesterday as my first episode!! I couldn't bear to watch it. I got up and did other stuff, just had it on in the background like I do with baseball games. I agree 100% with the OP. Awful, just awful. Scarlett looks ridiculous!!

As a supporter of anything Sigma 6.....the cartoon was shit. The toys on the other hand......were awsome. The toys still hold up with heavy play over the last how many years.Sigma 6 really came into its own when it lost the S6 title and changed to Combat squads and Adventure team sets.It was ahead of its time.

Agreed, the cartoon was bad, but the toys were amazing. I just wish they'd been in 6 inch scale, I think that would have launched the line into epic status.

The kids and I gave the cartoon a try, just like Renegades, that didn't last long. The toys on the other hand are great. My youngest son and I always have battles with them. They also come with a heck of a lot of weapons and accessories.

The animation is great. Gonzo is a solid studio. It's the voice-overs that I have trouble with, personally. Though, I must say it's not an absolutely trash like some people make it out to be.
