How did you acquire DG Joes?

Surprisingly the hardest figure to find for me was Duke. I only found one Duke while I found 3 Cobra troopers in the wild. I bought 2 of everything else and left a couple figures for others. No sign of restocking.

Called the only Dollar General in the entire Los Angeles, San Bernardino area and asked if they'd seen the new Joes. The cashier said that she just got in one box and didn't know where to put it, so I asked her to hold it for me.

I then drove the 20 miles there during my lunch break, bought all six figures (much to the amusement of the store's employees) and then drove back to work.

I got a really cool story. I was on vacation when the DG Joes started showing up. I started calling all the DG stores in my area asking if they seen a small white box with 6 GI Joes inside. This lady that worked at the store remembered seeing one in the back room. I told her I wanted it and see actually when ahead and bought the set for me. She held the set for me until I got back from the beach. I offered to pay her extra, but see would would only take the correct amount.

I was averageing 5 stores daily for 14 days. I had the UPC and would ask the staff but they never had it. When they finally got it they told me that they could not pull it out of the back room or truck or whatever. I had to come back and wait for it to be on the shelf. They couldnt hold it or order it even if I pre-paid for it. I had to come back. Thats the same every store told me "Come back on X-day and they should be out by then". Well I kept comming back but someone kept beating me to them. Every single day, every single store. "Oh I'm sorry, someone was just here and bought them all".

Finally I found 1 store that had just recieved them that very morning, the UPC confirmed they had it in stock but of course "you'll have to come back on Wednesday and they should be stocked by then".
I told the lady helping me out: Look, I've heard that already at every single store from here to 3 counties over and I keep getting beat to the goal.

She explained that Dollar General dossen't pull thing from the back, they are very understaffed and she did not have anyone to help me. I told her I respected her possition and that I also worked in retail. I said "I dont know how much you make an hour and I dont care but I'll give you 10 bucks for 2 minutes of your time to look through those totes and pull that box out for me".

She took the money happily, she got me the damn toys. We laughed about it and I even wrote a letter to Dollar General telling them how great she was and how helpfull she had been. I omitted the part about the 10 bucks to them, obviously.

My wife and I had to go to a wedding ((I hate weddings)) in South Georgia and we happened to pass a dollar general on the way, we stopped just for the fun of it and lucky me, score!

The truly funny part is a women was adding them to the pegs as I walked in, I asked her if I could just take the whole box she replayed sure “because I have no idea where to put them, she then said make sure you tell the guy in the front that he needs to give you a coupon”. So it was an extremely nice find and wedding for me!!!!

I've managed to find at least 3 sets in my area. I kept a set, minus snake eyes, for myself. I sent a set, plus 4 across the pond to a tanker, via the help thread. I sent 4 figures to MD, to help out another tanker via the help thread. I've traded with 2 tankers in my local area to help out other tankers in the DG comfort thread, and I am in the middle of helping tankers in NJ and PA, that I've met through the provide dollar general comfort thread.

If none of your stores in your area have them or more importantly don't have a peg for them then it would be beneficial to you to jump start the store. By that I mean bring in the UPC's (I have them if you need them) for the figures and have the manager order them. Be nice and they might help you out. It's been working for me :)

I got them all at the first Dollar General I checked, about a week ago. The cashier said they had just put them out, so I got very lucky.

4 figures I got via a tanker here two from my buddy in Va...and I STILL have yet to see them in NJ...I know other have but I have yet to find even ONE DG figure in the wild.

Picked up the Snake Eyes and Shipwreck...

I found Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper, Duke and Shipwreck at my local DG when they first came out. I had read that the DG's would only be getting one shipment, which bummed me out because I really wanted Storm Shadow. Over the weekend my DG got another shipment and I got Stormshadow!!! I was going to pick up Snake Eyes but I didn't like him in person. They are getting at least another shipment I would imagine, so go back and double check...
