I bought a Split Fire a few years ago off ebay and it didn't come with instructions. I noticed it had holes for a speaker and a battery cover, but the cover had a triangle head screw in it and there wasn't actually a button where it said 'play' and 'demo' so I assumed it was originally going to have sounds but Hasbro decided not to.

Well, I was perusing ebay today and saw one listed that said it had "sounds and movement," so I looked it up on YoJoe.com and they are supposed to have sounds. I opened up the battery cover to find there aren't even contacts for the battery terminals! Is this an early prototype or something?

Now I have to get a new one and see if anyone wants this one for customizing or something. This type of stuff seems to happen to me a lot and I don't know how!

It was rereleased in 2004 VVV packaging. The electronics were removed on many VVV repacks.

Looks like my Ringneck is the same way. Well that sucks. I didn't buy them in stores when they were out, so I assumed the ones I got on ebay were the same ones. Thanks for the info.

That bites. I've never heard of this vehicle before. I thought you were talking about a model of the British Fighter plane. This vehicle is awesome, though.

Dollar General got tons of VVV vehicles sans electronics. (back when VVV was out). I'd happily take that one off your hands depending on what you'd want for it.

Any interest in the Ring Neck? I'm thinking $10 each but shipping would be like $15-16 (or a little less for just one)

A similar thing happened to me also... At a local dollar store there was a blister packed spaceship that was exactly the right size to seat a star wars fig in... After I had bought it I examined it carefully and found a battery section, an open loop in its' top, and a tiny hole in its rear section... Clearly this had been designed to hold a motor and fan and "Fly" from a string tied to the ceiling. It also turned out to be an almost exact(Only the color scheme was different, and oversized wheels were added to the bottom.) copy of one of the ships from Star Wars, the A-Wing fighter. The bad thing is I've hadn't seen any for sale again for years now.

I was thinking about getting a Split Fire to customize for my Dino Hunters custom team. PM if still available, and maybe we can work something out.
