View Full Version : Questions Replacement hand for joes and cobra

One of my first G.I. Joe figures was the straight armed Cobra Officer. Even though I am very careful with my stuff, I always wanted the figure guns to run parallel with their arms. The stress ended up breaking off his thumb. This seemed to be common for my friends at the time. This officer was different than the rest, so I called him Offier Claw, since he had the different looking hand. I have seen figures that had lost their whole hands. I know you can get replacement arms, but want something a little different. Has anyone made replacement hands? I am thinking metal looking fists (think MOTU Fisto) or karate chop (think MOTU Jijitsu). Maybe even a metal looking hand with spikes. Someday I would love to learn how to cast plastic parts, but has anyone made such a part/parts?

I've replaced numerous ARAH Snake Eyes hands with the hands from JVC Snake Eyes. It's great beacause the newer hands are much more flexible and won't break PLUS it gives the old figure wrist articulation that he did not have before. In addition you can get JVC figures pretty cheap and/or trade for them pretty easy as they don't have much value anymore. I just cut off the old broken hand with snips, sand the area flat and drill a hole for the new hand stem. I usually trim the stem down a little. The stems aren't always centered so look closely at what you're doing and drill accordingly.
