As I broke back into customizing this spring by biggest peeve to tackle were some of the more memorable classic Joes that just seem to get lost in the background. At least in my collection anyway. A big one for me was Mutt. It's not that he was a fav from childhood, or anything of the such, but I felt he needed a grander update beyond what the 25th line had given him.
I hope you all enjoy this updated take for Mutt. Note that this is actually the first time I've had to match a flesh tone. It was rough, but I think I did a good job with it.

Excellent job! I love the parts you chose and the paints are super clean. I think you did a good job matching the flesh tone. I hate matching flesh tone and pretty much just repaint all the flesh tone now, b/c I don't have the patience for matching it.
Very solid.

He's one of my favs too. I have the 25th version sitting and staring at me asking when I am going to get to him but haven't figured out how best to go about it yet. Yours is very nice.

Great job. I really like the use of the POC Dusty upper arm as suits Mutt well. I will be starting mine tonight!

I love that. Mutt is one of my favourite Joes and that's a fantastic version of him.

Neither did I when I set out to tackle this one. I really think it came down to the mods I was forced to make the Renegades Law vest to make it fit over the collared shirt torso; having to cut away the high collar of the vest to fit the torso while having the foresight to leave the front as a neck guard prompting the addition of the crotch guard.
Someone else mentioned really liking he large kneepads. I think this ended up being a character that they really suit.
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am extremely happy with this update and will strive to deliver the same quality from here out.

This a great 30th update! I'd buy this for sure if Hasbro released a version close to yours.

I feel the exact same way, and this custom of Mutt is stellar.

Thanks CS! I keep a base flesh tone around that I ended having to cut with a little white and a hint of yellow. I did run the darker base over it as a wash, but you barely see it. I was thrilled in the end that it matched up. I just not ready to repaint heads with eyes and eyebrows just yet. I did thicken up the black on the mustache and even out his sideburns though.
Looks great! I like the parts used.
On the fence about the legs at first, but now that I've used them on two separate customs I've really come to like the parts.
Beautiful update! Fantastic parts selection and paint apps as usual buddy...well done.
Many thanks.

I would love to see what everyone else's take on Mutt with or without these parts would look like.

I am pretty sure they won't, which is why this had to happen.

Thanks! I wasn't even reaching for the stars with this one : ) but he was a nice surprise when finished.

Many thanks. I didn't even have him as a kid, but the cartoon had a little more influence on me than the comics and he was a staple in that aspect.

You did a great job on this custom man. Hasbro really needs to re-do Mutt. I hate those upper legs on the 25th version.
