"It has a long, uninteresting Wayne Enterprises designation. I just took to calling it...The Bat."

Still working on a Batman figure to go with it.

Actually, it's a fairly simple recipe. The new HISS, the Bat from Mattel, 25th Roadblock guns, and the barrels from the Jungle Viper guns.
Lotta glue, sculpting stuff and styrene.
I think I have WIP pics somewhere, I'll take a look.

This is amazing, you did a great job. Mattel's version of this vehicle is pretty disappointing but vehicle design is so cool I'll probably buy it anyway:/

That's what most of this is. Just bashed it with the new HISS. I think if I had planned it out a little better I could have made it a two-seater. And if I could have found better pictures, I could have done the underside more movie accurate.

I don't know why they always have to leave out the second seat on helicopters. I know this is made by Mattel but Hasbro always does it too. I swear to god they'd make them with no seats at all if they thought they could get away with it.

Seamless man, this is beauty. I had to read through all the comments to figure out exactly what else besides the Hiss canopy was used. Great job at removing that handle from the ship too. Flawless all around!

I like what you did with the vehicle. Not much of a fan though. For a flyer, I can't make head or tail of it. The fans are on arms? The bat looks like leftovers from Tron.
awesome bro.... i'd say its hell of a lot better than the original... way to go..YO JOE!!!!!

Thanks for the comments, gents.
Boy, people either really love the vehicle (not my custom, but the vehicle itself) or hate it. There isn't too much middle ground.
I will also second the complaint of unclear dialog during the film. The music was so loud that I couldn't understand what people were saying half the time. I hope they fix that for the DVD/Blueray/Digital release.
It is definitely stopping me from seeing it a second time in the theater.

(Although I agree the vehicles left a lot to be desired).

I almost bought Mattels crappy version of the Bat, but realized that unlike your awesome work, the Mattel Bat has a hollow bottom. Meaning, the top looks ok, [if you ignore the handle, smh] but its missing the entire undercarriage! After seeing yours, I could not bring myself to buy it... Great work! I am super jealous. Wish Mattel could have gave us something more like your Bat.

At first I thought it was a ghost hawk, then I realized it was the new hiss,. Excellent job, can you take pics of the underside?

1:18th scale of course! ;-)
Thanks again for the comments, gents.
I might have a picture of the underside that I can post, but honestly, you're not missing much. It's pretty rough under there. This was my first major attempt at using styrene. Plus, I finished this before the movie was released, so I had no idea what the belly was supposed to look like to begin with. WB played that one pretty close to the vest.
If I was just getting started on this, I might give it a go at trying to make the cockpit seat two. I think it's possible with some work. And I'd try to add the louvers on the belly.

It looks great. Slap some blue LED's underneath, and it won't matter how rough it looks.

Sounds like the theater you saw it in wasn't calibrated correctly. I believe the dialogue, music, or both are on separate tracks they can raise or lower independantly. We didn't have this problem in our theater the night we saw it.
I forget the movie, but one I saw multiple times was in a theater were the dialogue wasn't turned up enough. All the other times sounded fine.
