Now that Hasbro is liscensed to produce SW toys and owns GI Joe, this opens up the possibility for a crossover between the two. How would you handle a crossover between GI Joe and SW? What would your ideas be? And what do you think is the best idea:
Mine are:
1. GI Joe Jedis vs. Cobra Sith
2. Dr. Mindbender Clones Gamorrean Guards, unleashing them on the Joes.
3. Cobra enslaves the Wookies and Ewoks.
4. Imperial Ships for Cobra's Space Forces and Rebel Vessels for the Joes.
Or
5. You have a better idea, as possibilities are endless.
I would love to hear any suggestions.

I did a dio on this long ago... In this an ancient spaceship escape pod crashes to earth, and it has several nonfunctional SW Battle droids inside it, and both Joe and Cobra are fighting over the droids.

My idea would be no Joe/SW crossover.

There was already a Joe/Transformer comic crossover... Maybe a Transformer/Star Wars crossover could be done.

I've been trying to make this connection for awhile. It's a tough nut to crack. I don't know if the 2 universes can crossover so easily in a plausible way!

hmm so the Ninja Joes vs the Ninja Cobras only with lightsabers? nah
2. Dr. Mindbender Clones Gamorrean Guards, unleashing them on the Joes.
do-able but limited possibilities GGs are not exactly invulnerable or swift on their feet.
3. Cobra enslaves the Wookies and Ewoks.
How?? and as far as Ewoks why??
4. Imperial Ships for Cobra's Space Forces and Rebel Vessels for the Joes.
so basically you wind up with GIJOEs and Cobras with new vehicles
Or
5. You have a better idea, as possibilities are endless.

better?
maybe.
Star Wars
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, so it is feasible it could be in our universe.
I would avoid any and all Star Wars as we know it. no ships no lightsabers definitely no characters such as Luke, Darth, etc.
Here is how I would do it. and this is just quick ramblings.
A sith lord ( a new one we have not heard about) is killed by a pack of Jedi because only a pack of Jedi could take him down, but before doing so, he uses Obi Wans trick and becomes one with the force. He drifts in space a tortured soul and becomes more and more evil as isolation sets in and his mind warps. Then his essence, his ghost, winds up on Earth, circa 2012. After traveling for centuries with no body and his mind becomes so twisted from the constant loneliness, this new force of evil is unleashed on Earth.
things unexplainable start happening, terrible terrible things, gruesome deaths of civilians, reports of bizarre events. After drawing attention to himself the Sith makes a HUGE mistake, He wants to take corporeal form again. After all his mind is unfathomable to a human. So he finds a human and takes over their body. As with the Emperor the body becomes mildly deformed, the Sith realizes his mistake too late He is still powerful but now he is trapped. Enraged the crazy Sith goes on another killing spree Force Lightning courses throughout British Parliament many die.
The SAS calls in the Joes for help.

I would avoid the characters we know but maybe a clone troop carrier crash lands on earth when its hyperdrive flakes out. Maybe a few hundred years ago. Hyper drives are finicky so traveling faster than the speed of light might essentially be timetravel. At any rate they crash and most of the clones are kept in statsis. Only a few with a droid accompaniment watch out over the ship. Maybe a star destroyer in size with 5000-10000 clones.
Since the earth was so underdeveloped finding the neccessary resources proved futile so instead they ended up teaching earthlings a thing or two over the years.
I suppose you could say anyone was asleep on that ship. Maybe even Darth Vader was there and he woke up from time to time and maybe even made his way to Scotland to start a small dynasty. This family gained immense wealth over the years with their advanced technology.
Other sleepings guests of the ship could have gave rise to all the monsters of legend.
But back to the present. This ship would probably have crashed in Brazil which is why it would still remain hidden. At some point it gets discovered, maybe a driod gets loose, and it turns into a mad dash by everyone yo get the tech. Cobra, JOES, DESTRO, RED SHADOWS, HYDRA you name it.
From this tech comes BATS, lasers, Clones (ie Serpentor) and it turns into a true Mission Brazil.

The person he takes over is Cobra Commander who is now a deformed Sith powered madman with a dual personality (due to the Commander fighting the Sith internally for domination of his mind/body)! Destro doesn't like the Sith pulling Cobra's strings, so he leaves and takes a few Cobra agents and his tech with him!
I can see the Joe team taking the fight to the First Cobra Empire's forces as a ragtag "Rebel Alliance". MAYBE even have Destro and his deserters working together in a shaky alliance, each out for their own goals?
Hey, this is starting to get interesting!

Actually I would have left Cobra completely out of it. Maybe much later in a future chapter I might have stuck them in there as a small base who became victims of an assault by the Sith. Maybe.
I also would have dived deep into the psychology of being alone for so long and its effects Maybe even tossed in Psyche out teaming up with Interrogator for a chapter where they try to analyze a weakness..
and this Sith is not omnipotent he is just intelligent and elusive.
and brutal.

of course the shrinks fail because the Sith is a total wack job, and they can't possibly use their book learnin' to figure him out. Then there are dire consequences when they think they have a plan...

Really, I love Joe, but lightsabers vs. swords would be crushed. Lasers vs. guns, ditto. And we joke about the Storm Trooper armor, but I bet it can deflect most projectile weapons. Joe (and Cobra) would be crushed in the crossover. Palp and CC would never join up, Palp would see no advantage (and I say Palp because he is technically the main villian even though Vader is much cooler, but Vader would feel the same way I think).
SW and Star Trek is a much more plauseable crossover.
Of course keep in mind that this is from a guy who mixes SW, Joe, MU, Wrestling and whatever else he can find, but that is comedy based which lends to more ease of mixing.

I love both franchises and on the surface it seems like a match made in heaven but honestly the Star Wars universe would crush the GIJ universe as far as technology, fire power, and individual skills and abilities. Just no way to make it really work in my opinion.

Totally agree. Joes are no match for Star Wars or Transformers either. Hasbro has bundled a Joe figure with a Transformer vehicle, which is a cool marketing gimmick, but for an official storyline they don't mix at all.
Troops of Doom is awesome stuff!
Thank you, sir! :D

Agree with this.
Though I do admit, your Dr. Mindbender creates an army of Gamorrean Guards sounds interesting.
