FINALLY! My ARAH Soft Master custom... :)

Here is my pride and joy for the summer of 2012!

I wanted this figure to fit in with my modern sculpt figures...and I believe he does. Using the vest and the ARAH sculpt to give him the heftier look was the right combination, I think.

Recipe:

1.) ARAH Road Pig head. I dremeled/sanded the flat top to end up with a fleshy, rounded, bald head. I then painted two shades--white closer to the ears and bottom of the hairline, and light gray closer to the top.

2.) ARAH Storm Shadow chest, arms, torso, and legs. I sanded the chest a bit so that the vest would fit as snugly as possible.

3.) Resolute Storm Shadow vest (thanks, Spectre!!!).

4.) I painted the body and vest separately. Once dried, I put the vest on the body and touched up. I used a mixture of Model Master yellow/orange to get my color; however, if I had to do it over, I would have gone with a lighter, more yellowish orange. But I'm cool with it--I used the Marvel comic issue 26 as well as order of battle issue to help me with colors. This figure falls somewhere in between.

5.) I had a fellow Tanker send me Arashikage decals for the vest, and "Wall-ah!" I glued a SE v54 scabbard to his left side to reflect the comic look as well as cover up the spot where the vest came together.

***I've included my son's version as well--pretty close for a 10 year old! His figure has the silver nunchuks and missing arashikage symbol on his arm (he used a red ninja version of SS '88), as well as the legs from Ryu the '94 Street Fighter figure.

Finally, the Arashikage temple, including: The Soft Master, Hard Master, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Kamakura, Jinx, and Billy. I have Zartan (the ss release from the comic pack that looks exactly like Zartan in disguise, posing as ss when he shot Hard Master) as well as the red ninja leader (who is basically Firefly, also known as the Faceless Master). I have a spot open to the right of the Hard master for the Blind Master when he is released...

I used one of the Anakin Clone War heads...the one that doesn't look AS angry, although still grim.

Yeah...that's why I added the resolute SS vest as well as the fact that the ARAH figure itself looks thicker all around when I place him amongst my other modern sculpts. As far as happier, nothing I could really do there.

Yeah, just have to be patient with the head. Oh, and be careful. My son got impatient and started sanding his Roadpig's head on the sidewalk (lol) and ended up with a slight hole in its head, revealing the hollowness inside. He covered that up with a drop of gray hair; but all the same...

Yeah...I've got Billy, SoftMaster, and the rescue of George Strawhacker SE completed so far. Would like to one day do Onihashi, Zartan, and Faceless master...but my son and I really want to do the Vietnam 6 in ME style! That may be two years away, yet.

Nah...he would look too tall/lean. I actually went the arah route so he would fit in better with my (mostly) ME figures.
