Here's the first installment of my 1982-era G.I. Joe team file cards. As I mentioned in my Part 1 thread (here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-general-discussion/249819-g-i-joe-arah-pre-1982-part-1-a.html), there are undoubtedly some historical and technical inaccuracies, and I've made some changes based on my own personal preferences, but hopefully there's nothing too hard to swallow. I've reserved spots for the few that I haven't proof-read yet, and will get them all up as soon as I have the time.
I had originally copied and pasted the PDFs, and I could view them initially, but for some reason (maybe lower connection strength) I couldn't see them anymore when I came back to post more. So I copied and pasted the text from the Word document, and posted a link below for those interested at seeing the "official" DOD Special Orders form I created.
Starting out with...

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject developed an enthusiasm for communications devices early in his childhood, salvaging parts to build his own ham radios and learning multiple languages in order to talk to other operators across the globe. When he had graduated from high school, Specialist Six Kibbey enrolled at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and finished just one year when he decided to enlist in the Army, certain that it would be more beneficial to use the G.I. Bill to pay for the remainder of his education instead of taking out additional student loans. After completing Basic and Infantry Training, Specialist Six Kibbey was assigned to his first duty station where he showed a marked proficiency with the standard communication devices his unit trained with. A matter of being in the right place at the right time, Specialist Six Kibbey was selected to reclass as a Telecommunications Operations Chief, attending the Signal Corps’ Telecommunications Operations School at Fort Gordon. He was then literally shipped off to Southeast Asia and Vietnam where he was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group, working under Project GAMMA. Specialist Six Kibbey served two tours of duty in Vietnam before he returned to the US and decided to reenlist in the Army, since he had already received a far more interesting education than he could have dreamed of at MIT. During this time, Specialist Six Kibbey furthered his military training after acceptance into Ranger School where he graduated with distinguished honors, immediately followed by Airborne and Air Assault schools. With some of the Army’s most rigorous courses behind him, Specialist Six Kibbey set his sights upon furthering his technical training, applying for college courses and eventually earning his Master’s degree of Science in Engineering, as well as attending the Army Language School at Monterey. Specialist Six Kibbey was then selected to participate in the Defense Advanced Technical School at Arlington where he was exposed to some of the world’s most advanced communications systems. Having already proven his multifaceted skills as a soldier and communications operator, Specialist Six Kibbey was quickly inducted into the Signal Center’s Covert Electronics Training Course at Fort Gordon before his deployment to the Khmer Republic as part of a CIA/SAD mission support element for Operation “Cradle Net”. Specialist Six Kibbey’s subsequent actions denote a versatile and adept soldier, working with the U.N. in Argentina and undercover in Laos, as well as part of various other classified operations such as Project FRONT DOOR and Operation “Single Window”. The only blemish on Specialist Six Kibbey’s otherwise flawless record is a near court-martial after a CID inquiry discovered decrypted classified coded information in his possession. The ensuing interrogation led by Agent Provost failed to yield any real evidence as to how or why Specialist Six Kibbey had come into control of the sensitive documents, and all charges were dropped when Colonel Abernathy acknowledged that the files had been planted in Kibbey’s custody unknowingly. In exchange for this favor, Specialist Six Kibbey agreed for a reassignment to Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.
Notes:
“He's efficient and self-assured and has an uncanny ability to turn adverse situations to his favor.”

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject was a mechanic at Manny's Mean Machines and was heavily involved in racing street machines prior to enlistment. Specialist Five Steinberg was drafted into the Army at the very end of the Vietnam War. After completing Basic and Infantry Training, Specialist Five Steinberg seemed to have a difficult time adjusting to the Army’s stringent regulations and protocol. After receiving two company level Article 15’s for minor infractions, Specialist Five Steinberg’s chain of command offered him the chance to reclass in a field to which he was better suited. His attendance at the Transportation School at Fort Eustis displayed a marked improvement in Specialist Five Steinberg’s military bearing, so much that he graduated at the top of his class and earned a seat at the DOD’s Advanced Driving School at Aberdeen, again finishing with the highest marks of all his classmates. Specialist Five Steinberg’s name was pulled for a Diplomatic Security Service detail where he served as an escort driver over a period of several months. At the suggestion of another driver, Specialist Five Steinberg began to apply to some of the Army’s more elite personal development courses, attending the Air Assault, Airborne and Ranger schools. Specialist Five Steinberg was then attached to a UN Special Security detail in Borovia, escorting a U.S. diplomat. When the detail was assaulted and the diplomat abducted, Specialist Five Steinberg took command the two surviving security team members, tracking down and rescuing the diplomat. After receiving a commendation for his actions in Borovia, Specialist Five Steinberg was enrolled in the Executive Bodyguard School at Langley, followed by the Close-Quarter Combat Advanced Training Course at Quantico and the Covert Ops School at Langley. Specialist Five Steinberg was personally selected by General Austin as his personal driver after he was promoted to the Pentagon. Of all the team members selected for Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA, Specialist Five Steinberg is easily the least obvious, but he has displayed the kind of tenacity and grit that cannot be taught in any school.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject developed an insatiable need to know how things work early in his youth, frequently dismantling all of the electronic and mechanical devices in his parents’ house. He excelled in school, earning a scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley. After completing only two years, Specialist Six Gambello dropped out and enlisted in the Army when a discussion with a campus recruiter persuaded him that his education and training would all happen on the job in the Army, instead of receiving several years of training in college and having to search for employment where he would then begin to gain work experience. Once he completed Basic and Infantry training, Specialist Six Gambello spent much of his first enlistment meticulously learning every aspect of the military system that he could from the hundreds of Army Regulations and Field Manuals available for study. After Specialist Six Gambello had comfortably settled into the Army, he was selected for Airborne School. When his enlistment came up he reclassified as an Electronics Maintenance Chief, where Specialist Six Gambello graduated at the top of his class into the Ordnance Corps, impressing his teachers so much that they suggested him as a candidate for the Top Secret classified Operation “Clock Mirror”. After his release back into his regular unit, Specialist Six Gambello applied to the Ranger School at Fort Benning, earning his Ranger tab and within a year was selected for the 75th Rangers’ 2nd Battalion, where he was assigned to Project UNIFORM TEMPO as part of a trial run squad outfitted with experimental electronic weapons. Specialist Six Gambello was then sent off on several missions to the Republic of Sudan and Ecuador before selection for the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) Responder Training Course in preparation for Project DEEP SHOVEL. After the Top Secret classified Operation “Glass Razor”, Specialist Six Gambello was reassigned to Aberdeen Proving Grounds and tasked with field testing and modifying some of the military’s most advanced prototype weapons, including the XMLR-1A (Shoulder-Fired Laser Rifle). Specialist Six Gambello’s unique set of capabilities and exemplary record placed him at the top of the list when candidates for Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA were being chosen.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject was an amateur pilot in his early teen years, earning his first license at the age of fourteen. Enrolled in Blackhawk Technical Institute and earned an associate degree in Industrial Engineering. After graduation Captain Barney decided to voluntarily enlist in the Army instead of waiting to get drafted while the Vietnam conflict intensified. After completing Basic Training, Captain Barney was selected for Officer Candidate School, having already completed ROTC and earning exceptionally high marks in all previous testing arenas. Shortly after arriving at his first duty station, Captain Barney was deployed to Vietnam and served one tour of duty as part of an Air Defense Artillery unit. When he completed his tour, Captain Barney requested an enrollment into the Army’s Engineer School where he acquired the skills of a Combat Engineer. Several months after the completion of his engineer schooling, Captain Barney attended the DARPA-run Defense Advanced Technical School where he was able to use his skills to field test some of the most state of the art experimental weapons systems in the world, while offering input on how to improve them. Captain Barney later attended the Ranger School at Fort Benning, followed by the Northern Warfare Training Center at Fort Greely. While stationed in Germany after given his first command, Captain Barney was selected to be a part of NATO’s Weapons System School (formerly the NATO Special Weapons School) at Oberammergau and graduated at the top of his class while field testing the military’s innovative experimental individual jet propulsion system. Captain Barney’s career as a steadfast tactical leader with cutting edge technological prowess on these advanced weapons systems platforms has earned him a position on the Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA team.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject was an outstanding athlete in high school as well as a positive role model to his peers, excelling in his studies and ultimately being elected class president and valedictorian. His intentions to go on to college and study engineering were put on hold when an Army recruiter convinced him that the government would pay for his college education. Graduating first in his troop from Basic Training and in the top ten of his class from Infantry Training School, Sergeant Graves was then selected to complete Airborne training before assignment to his first duty station in South Korea. When his first enlistment came up, Sergeant Graves opted to reclass as a Small Arms/Artillery Repairer, and shortly after completed the Air Assault School in Fort Campbell. The exhilaration of continuing his elite training as a soldier had almost entirely overridden Sergeant Graves’ high school dreams of a college education, and he set his sights on attending the Ranger School at Fort Benning. Afterwards, Sergeant Graves was quickly assigned to the 75th Rangers’ 1st Battalion where he was immediately deployed into the Republic of Turkey as an intelligence operative after his induction period. When the CIA began assembling military personnel for their Operation “Mask Web” in the Honduras, Sergeant Graves was selected as a security team member. His next mission was Project MANOR HAVEN, followed by a deployment to Irkutsk where Sergeant Graves trained with the elite SSRU as part of an international military war games exercise. After an unusually long period of inactivity, augmented by some rigorous drills, Sergeant Graves was assigned to Operation “Green Horizon”. Sergeant Graves’ steadfast professionalism and motivated elitism has earned him a coveted reassignment to Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject comes from a very politically involved family that is well-connected and monetarily persuasive. Colonel Hawk took advantage of his family’s influence and wealth to procure an enrollment at West Point, where he graduated at the top of his class. After receiving his commission in the Army as a Second Lieutenant and excelling at both A and B Officer Basic Courses, Colonel Hawk quickly gained a variety of training and experience as he rose through the ranks. After attending Airborne, Ranger and Air Assault schools as well as the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) Responder Training Course, Colonel Hawk was enrolled in the Army’s Intelligence School at Fort Holabird, followed by the Jungle Operations training at Fort Sherman in Panama. A Captain at the time and in command of his own Company, Colonel Hawk was deployed to Southeast Asia where he served two consecutive tours of duty in Vietnam as a part of a Field Artillery battalion. When his final tour was finished he returned to the US and was promoted to Major, after which Colonel Hawk was assigned to the joint-CIA Operation “Counter Mark” where he remained for nearly a year. Following his release from the CIA Colonel Hawk was enrolled into the Covert Ops School at Langley, succeeded by the Close-Quarter Combat Advanced Training Course at Quantico and the Northern Warfare Training Center at Fort Greely before he was selected to serve with NATO as cadre to their training mission in Belgium and in the US on the Range Command cadre at Grand Forks, North Dakota. After he received his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel Hawk attended the US Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas where he received specialized training under the School of Advanced Military Studies that prepared him for his next assignment to the US Aerial Early Notification Global Command Electronic Visual Reconnaissance (USA ENG COM EVR) Missile and Radar Training project located in Montana and Greenland. This illustrious career was nearly cut short when Colonel Hawk received his next command as the head of a UN Peacekeeping Mission security detail at a refugee camp in Borovia. When a terrorist was taken into custody, it was discovered that he had planted a bomb somewhere within the camp grounds but would not say where. Colonel Hawk delegated the responsibility of coercing the terrorist to divulge the location of the bomb while he simultaneously organized the evacuation of the refugees and assembled several teams to perform searching sweeps of the compound in a desperate attempt to avert disaster. Staff Sergeant Wilkinson quickly learned the location of the bomb, and an EOD team was sent into the orphanage to deactivate it without incident. An investigation following the incident headed by CID Agent Provost claimed the unauthorized use of interrogation tactics by Staff Sergeant Wilkinson when he had been left alone with the terrorist. Colonel Hawk assumed full responsibility of Wilkinson’s actions before a military tribunal, relieving Staff Sergeant Wilkinson of any culpability of prosecutable action while endangering his own career. During the trial, Colonel Hawk was adept enough to spin the situation in his favor by making a guilty verdict reflect unkindly on the presiding officers. As a result of Colonel Hawk’s actions he received a promotion with the condition that he accepted a commission to field command the newly created Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject was a marginal student throughout his teens, more into surfing and playing bass guitar than planning his future. He found a focal point to strive for when a high school friend of Staff Sergeant McConnel’s was rescued by an Army Ranger after nearly drowning while surfing a notoriously dangerous spot. Staff Sergeant McConnel began researching what it would take for him to become a Ranger, and vigorously built his own training regimen. He enlisted in the Army as soon as he had his high school diploma in hand, completing both Basic and Mechanized Infantry Training at Fort Benning, Georgia where he graduated at the top of his class. The adjustment of military life was admittedly difficult at times for Staff Sergeant McConnel, particularly the “bureaucratic foot-dragging” that prevented him from getting into Ranger School for several years. During this period of waiting Staff Sergeant McConnel was accepted into Air Assault School, received additional training at the Pathfinder School and followed that up by attending the Airborne School, all at Fort Benning. Having proven his desire to rise above his peers, Staff Sergeant McConnel’s chain of command approved his request to enroll in Ranger School where he completed in the top five of his class. Finishing up his first enlistment by attending PLDC and receiving a promotion to E-5, Staff Sergeant McConnel reenlisted and reclassed as a Cavalry Scout, but shortly after assignment to his second duty station he was quickly selected to attend the Drill Sergeant School at Fort Jackson, remaining on cadre for a year and a half. Staff Sergeant McConnel was finally selected for assignment to the 75th Rangers’ 3rd Battalion, attending the Covert Ops School at Langley after his orientation. His first assignment as a Ranger was a hostage extraction in the Republic of Zaire, followed up by a Pakistani-led UN Peacekeeping Mission in Sierra Gordo. An avid outdoorsman that keeps his body in peak physical shape, Staff Sergeant McConnel’s general altruism makes him a natural selection for Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject’s father and three brothers were all martial arts instructors. Staff Sergeant O’Hara, the youngest of five O’Hara children, began her formal martial arts training at the age of nine, proceeding to become conversant in a multitude of defensive, acrobatic and combative styles and earning her first black belt by the age of fifteen. After high school Staff Sergeant O’Hara attended Stanford Law School near Palo Alto, California, graduating summa cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree and passed the bar exam, practicing law for a very brief period prior to deciding to enlist in the Army, a move that stunned all of her family and friends. Even more unexpected was the fact that Staff Sergeant O’Hara turned down a guaranteed slot at OCS (Officer Candidate School), opting to enter military service as an E-2. After graduating at the top of her class from Basic, Staff Sergeant O’Hara attended the Civil Affairs School at Fort Bragg. She spent a short amount of time as a Civil Affairs Specialist before Staff Sergeant O’Hara felt an urge to do more with her life. Having already made E-5 and attended PLDC, Staff Sergeant O’Hara used her martial arts talents as a spring board to procure a more challenging skill set from her military career. Her chain of command approved her attendance at the USMC Tae Kwon Do Symposium where Staff Sergeant O’Hara impressed a number of high-ranking officials who began to watch her career with great interest. After she awed the cadre at both the Airborne and Ranger Schools, Staff Sergeant O’Hara was honored with a rare opportunity to attend the UK’s Special Air Service (SAS) School at Sennybridge Camp and Army Field Training Centre, Wales. Out of the initial class of 202, Staff Sergeant O’Hara was in the top ten of the final 24 members that graduated. After completing this grueling course, Staff Sergeant O’Hara received orders to report to Fort Huachuca, Arizona to attended the Security Agency Test and Evaluation Center where she reclassified as a Counterintelligence Special Agent, scoring extremely high marks and proceeding to the Covert Ops School at Langley, and after nomination by a selection board attended the FBI National Academy and USMC Sniper School at Quantico, Virginia. Once her formal training had been completed, Staff Sergeant O’Hara’s first mission was to infiltrate a domestic anti-government militia at Laramie, Wyoming while posing as a sympathizer. Staff Sergeant O’Hara was then deployed to Grenada to thwart an assassination plot against a visiting Ambassador, followed by her participation in Project DOVER FLOW. Another deep cover assignment ensued; this time Staff Sergeant O’Hara infiltrated the IRA in Ireland to stop a major trafficker of illegal arms. This exemplary record is a testament to the strict professionalism of Staff Sergeant O’Hara, and stands to reason that she has been singled out as one of the top five candidates selected for reassignment to Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject attended Swarthmore College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree and minoring in peace and conflict studies. Initially an anti-war activist, Sergeant First Class Craig soon began to understand the necessity for military and police forces while studying the plight of the Igbo during the Nigerian-Biafran War. Instead of furthering her education, Sergeant First Class Craig decided to take action and enlist in the Army against her parents’ wishes, immediately shipped off to Fort Leonard Wood where she attended Basic Training and graduated at the top her class from Military Police School. Sergeant First Class Craig began a promising career as an MP, a period during which she attended Airborne, Ranger and Air Assault Schools, as well as serving on cadre at a temporary joint-FBI Special Assault Course. Shortly after her first reenlistment Sergeant First Class Craig’s superiors encouraged her to reclassify as a Chief Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Sergeant, recognizing that she had a future better suited to working inside of the Intelligence community. And while she served in her new capacity as fervently as she had while an MP, Sergeant First Class Craig soon felt the itch to be actively engaged with the world and making a difference where she could physically see the results of her work. Fighting to get into the Army Institute for Military Assistance (previously the Special Warfare Center), Sergeant First Class Craig was eventually accepted and finished in the top ten of her class, furthering her abilities by attending the post-graduate Free Fall Parachutist and Close-Quarter Combat courses before she was enrolled at Langley’s Covert Ops School. But it was on the range at the Target Interdiction (Sniper) Course that Sergeant First Class Craig found a renewed purpose in her life. Completing the course with some of the highest scores on record, her new skill set was put to work in Malaysia while on Operation “Rolling Blade” and as part of the joint-CIA Operation “Total Cover”. But Sergeant First Class Craig’s mettle was truly put to the test on her next mission where she had been deployed to Equatorial Kalingaland as part of a human intelligence gathering mission to gauge the socio-political environment. A week into the mission, Sergeant First Class Craig’s team was caught up in a Soviet-backed Kalinga-Rouge rebel uprising. Her squad secretly retreated to the grounds of a monastery that also housed a school, but their presence was reported to the rebels by a local sympathizer and the Kalinga-Rouge diverted their attention to the American forces on their native soil. With no regards to the priests, school faculty or children, the rebel forces indiscriminately fired their weapons onto the grounds, pressuring the squad to defend the monastery and everyone trapped within. Two hours into the fighting their mission leader was killed by an RPG. Sergeant First Class Craig, herself injured by small arms fire, assumed command of the team and after more than fourteen hours of sporadic firefighting had successfully driven back the rebel soldiers. During their debriefing, the surviving members of Sergeant First Class Craig’s team all asserted that for every round that exited the barrel of her rifle, a rebel soldier fell and did not get back up. It was her cool leadership and expert marksmanship that saved Sergeant First Class Craig and her team in that impossible situation, and subsequently earned her the position as Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA’s cover support.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject comes from a family with a strong military background; both his father and grandfather were career Sergeant Majors in the Army. While in high school, Specialist Five Freistadt developed a healthy interest in advanced mathematics, pursuing the more abstract fields of calculus and trigonometry in his free time that enabled him to plot the trickiest of artillery azimuths and tribulations in his head once his military training began. The summer after graduating from high school, Specialist Five Friestadt briefly entertained the notion of attending college while his father pushed his son to enlist. A compromise was reached when Specialist Five Friestadt enlisted to earn the GI Bill for a post-military college education, the remaining cost of which would be covered by his father. Initially enlisting in the Army Reserves, Specialist Five Freistadt gained such an overwhelming respect for the military during Basic and AIT that he decided to switch to Active Duty and quickly began applying to some of the Army’s toughest schools, including Air Assault and Airborne Schools, successfully completing both before the end of his first enlistment. When offered the opportunity to reclassify, Specialist Five Friestadt switched to Combat Engineer, attending the Engineer School at Fort Leonard Wood. After attending the Jungle Operations Training Center in Panama, Specialist Five Friestadt was selected to fulfill a support role in a CIA/SAD controlled special operations mission in Beirut. Eventually Specialist Five Friestadt was accepted into Fort Benning’s Ranger School, where he performed marginally well until he was captured during the escape and evasion part of his training, when the cadre had already pre-selected him as a washout. Under extreme duress, the best a candidate can typically withstand the mental and physical stress is less than three days. However, already knowing he had officially washed out of the course, Specialist Five Freistadt continued to hold out for longer than seven days, relenting only after he was offered a position with the newly formed Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject enlisted in the Army out of high school, graduating from Basic and Infantry Training at the top of his class and was selected to attend Ranger School prior to his deployment to Southeast Asia, where he was assigned to an LRRP (Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol) Recon Platoon. Sergeant Light was still a Private First Class when his LRRP team was ambushed while on patrol, killing everyone in the squad except for him and a new member, Specialist Four Arashikage. With no way to call for an extraction, the two use their survival training, subsisting in the jungle of Vietnam for over two weeks before they return to their base camp. After being debriefed and given time to recover from their injuries, Sergeant Light and Specialist Four Arashikage were reassigned to another LRRP Platoon (shortened to LRP from Dec. 1967) under the command of MACV/SOG (Military Assistance Command Vietnam/Studies and Observations Group). Towards the end of his second tour, Sergeant Light is caught in the crossfire of pursuant NVA forces while crossing an open field at an extraction point to board a UH-1 Iroquois helicopter. Unable to continue, Specialist Four Arashikage falls back to recover his team mate, disobeying Staff Sergeant Wilkinson’s order to leave him, mistakenly assuming Sergeant Light had been killed. While still recovering from his injuries, Sergeant Light was shipped back to the US early and granted an extended leave to allow him a proper rehabilitation period. But tragedy struck a third time when Sergeant Light’s father, mother and twin sister were killed in a head-on collision with a drunk driver on their way to pick him up at the airport. After fully recovering and settling his family’s estate, Sergeant Light returned to his unit, resolving to receive as much specialized training as he could with the belief that he would return to Vietnam. But after attending Airborne and Air Assault schools and attending the Northern Warfare Training and Jungle Operations Training centers, Sergeant Light grew dissatisfied with the military and decided against reenlistment. Between the years 1972 through 1978 Sergeant Light was living in Japan; it is presumed that he was in contact with Specialist Four Arashikage’s family during this period. After returning to the US Sergeant Light retreated from society and lived as a recluse in the High Sierra Mountains. When Colonel Abernathy selected Staff Sergeant Wilkinson as the first member of Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA, Wilkinson advised him that the second man he should select was Sergeant Light. After tracking him down at his cabin and convincing him to join their team, Sergeant Light was reactivated to active duty status and pushed through a myriad of TRADOC and contractor-operated specialized training courses, excelling at Close-Quarter Combat tactics and mastering twelve different unarmed fighting systems including Karate, Kung-Fu, Jujitsu, Chinese Sanshou, Soviet Sambo and Israeli Kapap. Personnel Evaluation:
Subject was the warlord of a large urban street gang prior to enlistment. After the death of his younger brother from gang-related violence, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson stepped away from his life as a street thug and decided to use his fighting instincts to serve his country. He enlisted in the Army, completing Basic and Infantry Training at Fort Benning and graduating at the top of both classes. Immediately after assignment to his first duty station, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was quickly run through Airborne, Ranger and Air Assault schools, where he aggressively displayed the tenacity and mental acuity that would forge his resolve to be a career soldier. Within a year of the completion of these schools Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was deployed to Southeast Asia to participate in the escalating Vietnam conflict, where he was assigned to one of the LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol) units under the control of MACV/SOG (Military Assistance Command Vietnam/Studies and Observations Group). Towards the end of his first tour Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was assigned as the squad leader of an LRP (shortened in December 1967) team. Two members of this squad were the sole survivors of another LRP team, a Sergeant Light and Specialist Four Arashikage. The unit performed exceptionally well over the following months until they were decimated after unwittingly walking into an NVA encampment. Wilkinson, Light and Arashikage, the sole survivors, evaded the NVA aggressors and made their way to a predesignated extraction point and escaped, despite taking heavy fire that nearly killed Sergeant Light. After this incident, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was transferred to an intelligence gathering position working jointly with the CIA as part of Operation “Fixed Wind”. When he had completed three consecutive tours of duty, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson left Vietnam and returned to the US. Using some of the connections he had made through the CIA, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was placed upon a fast-track to becoming an operative for the Special Operations Command, training at some of the military’s most elite schools. He spent the following two years attending the U.S. Army School for Military Assistance (previously the Special Warfare Center) where Staff Sergeant Wilkinson completed all of the requisite training related to selection for the Special Forces. This training was augmented with the Free Fall Parachutist Course, Target Interdiction Course, Close-Quarter Combat Course and Combat Diving Course, as well as attending both the Northern Warfare Training Center and Jungle Operations Training Center. Several Defense Agencies had taken an interest in Staff Sergeant Wilkinson’s career, and the CIA ensured his entrance into the Army’s Intelligence School and Covert Ops School at Langley. Shortly after his completion of these additional courses, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was loaned out to the CIA to work undercover in Darfur, Western Sudan. This mission is almost immediately followed up by a lateral deployment into Libya as part of Operation “Heavy Sender”. When released back to his regular Special Forces unit, Staff Sergeant Wilkinson was deployed to Borovia as part of a UN Peacekeeping Mission security detail serving under the then Lieutenant Colonel Abernathy. Staff Sergeant Wilkinson came under scrutiny for using unauthorized interrogation tactics to discern the location of a bomb planted by a captured terrorist. Lieutenant Colonel Abernathy assumed responsibility for Staff Sergeant Wilkinson’s actions, since he would have used the same methods to avert the potential catastrophe that could have happened. When Colonel Abernathy was acquitted and promoted to helm a newly developed stand-alone combat force, the first soldier selected was Staff Sergeant Wilkinson, who gladly accepted his place in Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject comes from a blue-collar middle class background. First Lieutenant Pulaski put himself through college at the University of Pittsburgh on an ROTC scholarship while working as a heavy equipment operator. After earning his Bachelor of Engineering degree First Lieutenant Pulaski entered into the Army as per the terms of his ROTC scholarship, completing Basic Training, Officer Candidate School and then graduating at the top of his class from Armor School and taking an additional Reconnaissance course. First Lieutenant Pulaski was then selected to participate in the XAFV Training Project as a cadre member. After his release from the XAFV Project, First Lieutenant Pulaski completed both the Airborne and Ranger School courses before his selection to attend the Covert Ops School at Langley. First Lieutenant Pulaski was assigned to an armor unit at Fort Knox that was activated and deployed into Trucial Abysmia, a tiny hot spot located on the north eastern coast of Africa bordering the Middle East. While on routine patrol in convoy formation, their column is attacked, knocking out First Lieutenant Pulaski’s tank and badly injuring his gunner. The remaining tanks of the column are drawn away, pursuing the main force of the attacking rebels. Left alone, First Lieutenant Pulaski quickly surveyed the situation and attempted to call for assistance, but the radio had been disabled in the attack. Turning to tend on his crew, First Lieutenant Pulaski discovered his driver and loader had both been killed. While stabilizing his gunner, they began taking fire by a small rebel group that had split off from the main attack body and doubled back. First Lieutenant Pulaski manned the .50-caliber machine gun and single-handedly held off the attacking rebel forces. Once the fighting had died off and the rebels had retreated, First Lieutenant Pulaski pulled the injured gunner from his tank and safely placed him in a hidden alcove while he checked the other disabled vehicles for survivors. Not finding any, First Lieutenant Pulaski returned to his gunner and attended his injuries while waiting for a search and rescue team to come and find them. When the sun set and it became obvious that they had been presumed killed in action, First Lieutenant Pulaski carried his gunner out of the desert on his back for more than twenty kilometers to their base of operations. This act of determined heroism secured First Lieutenant Pulaski a slot in Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA when candidate selections began.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject was accepted into Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) out of high school, earning a Master’s Degree in Engineering. Sergeant Melendez enlisted in the Army after deciding to pursue a career that would give back to the community like his sister and brother had before him. Initially choosing a career as an Anti-Armor Infantryman, Sergeant Melendez decided to reclassify as a Combat Engineer in order to “get the most” out of his college education, and attended specialized courses such as the Sabalauski Air Assault and Airborne Schools, the Jungle Operations and Army Northern Warfare Training Centers, the Ordnance and Sapper Leader Schools, as well as Ranger School and the Close-Quarter Combat course. Sergeant Melendez has assembled a respectable résumé in a short amount of time, but it was his congeniality and camaraderie among his fellow soldiers and irrepressible optimism that enabled him to outshine the other prospective candidates under consideration for selection in Special Counter-Terrorist Group DELTA.

Sounds interesting, but we seem to be missing the links on the first page.
Corrected. Not sure what happened, but everything looked good when I first set this up. When I came back to add and edit, there was nothing visible except for my original text. So to simplify it, I copy and pasted the DOD Special Orders text, and supplied links for those that want to see what the original documents look like. I'm pretty pleased with how close this resembles the file I used from my own military records. Hopefully everyone can enjoy these.
I've been working on them for a little over a month, and while I still have four more to finalize, they are all at 95% close to finished and should be up in the next few days.

Eventually I'd like to complete a profile for everyone. I always wondered from whose perspective the file cards were written. I'd assumed it was General Austin or Flagg, but after reading Declassified, I was starting to think that Sparks wrote them for Austin or Flagg, and later Abernathy once he was removed from the field.

Just added Snake Eyes' bio/file card. There's a bit of assumption regarding his real name and hometown, or even how old he was when selected for the GI Joe team, but I used a lot of ideas that have been inferred by the original Marvel and Declassified series. For those interested, see some of the links and following discussion here:

A side note I forgot to mention; the USASOC Abbreviated Expert Training Development course is entirely made up. I cobbled it together from other real military courses and centered it at the Special Warfare Center at Ft. Bragg. There are other elements of some of the previously posted file card bios with similarly made up bits of information, used to pad out their resume.

Added the final three members of the original team; Stalker, Steeler and Zap. Now that these are finished, I need to start figuring out how I'm going to put together some of the enemy dossiers. I'm not only going to include Cobra, but was thinking of incorporating Action Force's Red Shadows as well. I always liked the idea of the G.I. Joe team fighting a variety of enemy forces.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subject is in command of the terrorist organization Cobra, a growing threat that has been quietly taking root across the globe over the last five years. Very little is known about Cobra Commander’s background or how his operation began, but by all accounts he is a man driven by an unquenchable thirst for absolute power, an egomaniac with a deep-seated paranoia and delusory ideals off-balanced by a probable schizoid personality disorder. His goal is nothing less than total control of the world, its people, wealth, and resources. Cobra Commander rules over his minions and sycophants without any apparent compassion, demanding total loyalty and allegiance to his every directive. It is presumed that Cobra Commander has had some sort of formal military training with possible leadership schooling, but this cannot be confirmed. As the Cobra organization continues to amass its followers, spreading their doctrine across an increasingly dissatisfied world population, Cobra Commander has recently begun supplanting his operatives from third world countries and infiltrating the governments of the most powerful leading nations in order to attain his ends, which he chooses to achieve through revolution and chaos in some form of “charismatic socialism”. Through these ends, he has accumulated a massive fortune that has enabled Cobra Commander to purchase large tracts of land in dozens of countries, and it has been rumored that he employs an unknown number of “faithful” (i.e., brain-washed) body doubles at these locations in order to retain the appearance of an all knowing, all seeing presence over his supporters. Cobra Commander has also appropriated some of the most cutting-edge technology and experimental military weapons systems in the world, most of which are still in development. In order to do so, he has recruited some of the most ruthless mercenaries available who in turn have kidnapped renowned businessmen, leading scientists and key military leaders at Cobra Commander’s behest, forcing them to reveal their top level secrets and stealing cutting-edge technology to outfit his faceless legions. It has also been reported that Cobra Commander has employed a number of unscrupulous scientists that have no moral qualms about conducting psychological and physiological experiments on human subjects, including Doctor Venom, who is wanted by the FBI and Interpol for performing unauthorized mind control trials on unwitting test subjects who became catatonic after his attempt to perfect his “responsive provocation influence” method. It is unknown how many people have fallen prey to the multitudinous schemes hatched by Cobra Commander before his return to domestic soil, but every effort must be made to capture this dangerous man and topple the Cobra organization before their twisted doctrine can take root in the US.

Personnel Evaluation:
Subjects are the front-line leaders of Cobra’s ground attack infantry units. Candidates selected for enlistment into the Cobra Officer Corps typically have a background in military, law enforcement or security fields and receive a battery of test gauging their mental acuity, physical endurance, critical decision making skills, discipline, personal pride and allegiance to Cobra Command. As with all entrant enlisted cadets, the basic Cobra Officer must submit to a specialized form of indoctrination into the ethos of Cobra Command’s mission statement. Once entered into the ranks of the Cobra Officer Corps, the basic Cobra Officers can expect to spend at least one year as the leader of an Infantry squad before favorable reviews can allow them to be promoted to another higher level in the Cobra Command military organization. There are several fields that a Cobra Officer can advance to, including Infantry, Armor, Artillery, Transportation, Naval and Aerial branches. They also have the option of serving with other environmentally specialized units including the Night Watch, Python Patrol, Desert Assault and Arctic Assault. At the time that a basic Cobra Officer is eligible for their promotion review, they have already become qualified experts in hand-to-hand combat, demolitions, espionage and disguise, as well as field command, communications and small arms proficiency.

Subjects are the most basic foot soldiers of Cobra Command’s military forces, and are all entered into the ground attack infantry units. Once accepted as a basic Cobra cadet, they must submit to a specialized form of indoctrination into the ethos of Cobra Command’s mission statement. After successfully undergoing this initial instructional block of training, the cadet undergoes a rigorous battery of tests that measure their physical endurance, discipline to follow orders, mental acuity and critical decision making skills. Next, the cadet must withstand a rigorous sequence of basic military and survival skill classes. After the effectual completion of these preparatory courses, the cadet is now a Cobra Trooper and is assigned to a basic Infantry squad where they can expect to remain for the following year. At this time, the Cobra Trooper can request a performance review that gives them several options to choose from if they meet certain requirements. They can either transfer laterally to one of the environmentally specialized units including the Night Watch, Python Patrol, Desert Assault or Arctic Assault teams, they can voluntarily enter the Cobra Air Corps as Viper Pilot, or if their scores are high enough, they can advance into the Viper Corps or the Officer Corps. Personnel Evaluation:
Subject attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Science where he earned his Doctorate degree in Experimental Psychology, studying at both the Department of Biology and Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. His professors saw a promising career ahead of Archibald Menov, a bright student full of wild, revolutionary ideas, but after graduation he unexpectedly took a position on the medical staff at Holmesburg Prison in Philadelphia. During this time, the US Army had been paying the lead staff members to perform experiments with mind-altering drugs on the prison population in an attempt to determine the minimum effective dosage required to incapacitate 50% of the population. Shortly after these unethical tests had begun, Dr. Menov was recruited by the CIA’s Office of Scientific Intelligence and put to work on their MK-ULTRA trials. He initially impressed his superiors with results born from his radical ideas, working alongside Operation “Paperclip” scientist and ex-Nazi Dr. Karl Dietrich, but after close to a decade of untethered experimentation Dr. Menov’s tests had grown far too eccentric and outlandish, and he was banned by the US government from practicing medicine again. Dr. Menov fled to Argentina where, using connections he had made through Dr. Dietrich, he was able to set up a jungle laboratory where he could continue his research. It is believed during this period that his total emotional disconnection from humanity took hold; working in almost total isolation, free from the interfering scruples of any associates, he developed an egomaniacal God-complex as he continued his genetic experiments involving botanical toxins derived from the local fauna. He would then use the unwitting indigenous population to test out the mind control applications each serum would produce, an act that wholly went unnoticed due to the turbulent revolutionary period of Argentina at a time when thousands of people were forcibly disappeared by the government. Frustrated by the low-yield results of these serums, Dr. Monev began to develop a mechanical device that would enhance the effects of the drugs. Eventually Dr. Monev’s Nazi-backers were hunted down and captured, or began to die from old age, and it became apparent that he would require a new source of financing. It is unknown how he initially came in contact with Cobra Commander, but the two began a symbiotic relationship that enabled Dr. Menov to finish his Brainwave Scanner, a device that can forcibly extract the memories of any subject fastened into it. Other fields of experimentation Dr. Menov has been dabbling in are the genetic augmentation of carnivorous plants, biological nerve toxins, the augmentation of human physical strength and endurance as well as the genetic cross-breeding of human and animal traits. Dr. Menov is a dangerous man with a brilliant mind full of terrifying ideas that he is not at all hesitant to bring to life. With his backing by Cobra Command, there is presumably no end to his horrific crimes against humanity.

Keep it up, man! Love the Dr. Venom bio, a bit creepy though. Where'd you get the idea for the botanical stuff? I don't remember seeing that anywhere else.

That was actually from the GI Joe Collector's Club file card for him. I thought it seemed a neat idea; there are so many holes in the character's background that could be filled with all sorts of biographical information that the sky really is the limit. It's always exciting to find out something that Hama has decided to add, like how he did with the Declassified series, even when something might not fit in exactly perfect with the original Marvel series. But so much of that was done because 'X' figure or vehicle was new and had to be forced into a story as an advert for the toy line, especially later in the series, that a lot is subject to personal preference. You could tell how much Hama hated the idea of Raptor when you re-read the Marvel series. But there always seems to be a way to make something fit in a 'cool' way.

lol, man whyd you have to give Venom the same birthday as me....lol
I like that youre gonna do the Red Shadows, you should add the Men of Evil too. The fan club made a set for the 12" line thats basicly a Cobra trooper with the MoE logo in place of the Cobra.

I've been picking birthdates completely at random. I know I share some pretty interesting birthdays with a variety of people, including Duke Elington and Hirohito. I have been looking at the Collector's Club Men of Evil line. I'm not sure how much time I'll have to continue this in the future as other projects are on the horizon, but hopefully I'll get the first decade of the ARAH years finished at some point.
And thanks to those that enjoy these!

Has been a while since I've had time to make further additions, but I recently completed writing up the Cobra Officer and Cobra Trooper dossiers.
