Took him 60-odd years to come back in the comics, but now Barnes is back by only the second movie??

I think this movie is set after the events of the Avengers movie. Cap's was asleep for a long while and Bucky was gone before him in the movie. So I think it's safe to say the time is right for him to make a reappearance.

That's what I think too. Bucky was cool in the 1st Avenger movie too, not some tag along runt like I thought he'd be.

Well I saw it coming but not THIS soon, I'm pretty excited! Before the announcement, I figured a sequel would deal with Cap mainly on his own, and maybe Winter Soldier for the 3rd movie, but I am pretty happy with this!

I liked that British secret agent lady... did she have a daughter? Maybe Cap can have his dance with her... no wait... the ages wouldn't match up. Maybe he can have a dance with her great grand daughter? LOL.
I didn't watch Avengers yet, did Cap have a love interest in that movie?
Yah, As you can see I don't care about Bucky. LOL.

I meant 60 years more in terms of comic content. So many other Cap stories to tell since his run began, yet they're diving in with the Winter Soldier.

I get what you mean. Captain America 2 should only hint at the Winter Soldier concept, maybe a teaser after the credits. Hopefully, it's not a full blown Bucky's return film!
But, since the actor playing Bucky signed a multi-picture deal, we all knew this was coming.
Cap needs time to adjust and feel comfortable in modern times before Bucky returns to tear his life to shreds!

I probably would have saved Winter Soldier for the third in the trilogy kind of thing, but I can't say I'm disappointed.
At least now we won't have to deal with the still-unaddressed retcon-induced plot-hole of:
Steve: "Hey Natasha, we've been friends and fellow Avengers for like 15 years and you never thought to mention that my best friend was still alive after the War and one of your trainers?"
Natasha: "Gee, sorry Steve, I guess it just slipped my mind...."
(And yes, I know his true identity was only "rumored" to Natasha, but you'd think it'd still be worth mentioning at some point.)

I understood what you meant, but being that I've seen the movie numerous times already. It really didn't surprise me that they chose to go this way. From the first time that I saw it, I thought that Bucky returning could be a possibility for part 2. You do have a point though. They could've chosen a different way to go based on all the material that is available.
I’ve been watching episodes of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and Zemo has become one of my favorite villains. I would love to see him in one of these movies. However, I’m not quite sure how he would fit in based on what has been introduced to the public already based on the last movie, or if he is even a viable option as a movie villain for Cap.

I think that's pretty cool I just hope the costume looks good. I have NEVER liked any of Falcon's costumes in the comics. While the other heroes from the 60's-70's got better costumes in the 80's, he still looks like he's from the disco era or like he could be a live dance performer at an ABBA concert.

For what it's worth though, Brubaker made him bad ass.

I loved the revision of Bucky by Brubaker.doing away with the smiley kid image and making him a hardened soldier was inspired.

I think we're down to Uncle Ben being the only guy in the entire MU who can't seem to push the lid off of his coffin.

Yeah, in all honesty they kind of combined the Red Skull and Baron Zemo to create the "Movie" Red Skull. The comic Red Skull wasn't all that much of a scientist...decent, but not great at it. He was more a master of espionage, sabotage, assassination, and above all political manipulation.
Trying to bring Zemo into the mix now would seem redundant with the Red Skull.
