And no! This doesn't belong in the spam section.
You think the fandom will ever move away from zombies & ninjas?
Some things have really been run into the ground lately. Star Wars, super heroes, Batman, ninjas, zombies. I am so sick & tired of seeing this shit constantly. Anybody else? Seems like the only place to find anything new & different is in video games.
Back in the late 70's & early 80's they were popping out new original stuff every few months. But then it all stopped suddenly. Now all we have is the same shit recycled over & over again.
Ya know what? I really don't care about how Megatron turned on the Cybertronians & forced the Autobots to flee Cybertron. Ok? FUCK MEGATRON! And FUCK OPTIMUS PRIME! That story has been run into the ground! I'm supposed to be excited over the new Fall Of Cybertron video game? Why? I already know that story inside & out. Oh look it's Metroplex! Ya know what? FUCK METROPLEX TOO! I also know how & why Batman became Batman & Spider-Man became Spider-Man. Why do they have to keep shoving this same shit at us year after year? I don't care about your origin stories & reboots anymore, we already know.
Then something new & original like John Carter shows up & it immediately bombs. The same old stale shit like Avengers, Spider-Man & Batman automatically win the box office every single time. Oh look! Thor is fighting Loki.....AGAIN! Didn't we just watch this movie a few months ago? No, this time Captain America, Iron Man & the Hulk are in it so it's totally different. Guess what, no, it's not! "Thor" & "The Avengers" are the same damned movie!
So Hasbro plans or was planning to give us a whole line of Zombies & ninjas in GI Joe? Seriously? They gave us 1 member of M.A.S.K. What the hell was that about? They can't give us the whole M.A.S.K. line, they can only give us 1 fucking member to tease all the M.A.S.K. fans? Ok, so you hate Star Brigade, that's fine. But Payload was released in 1987. They can give us a shit load of zombies, ninjas & Dreadnoks but 1 fucking astronaut is too difficult??? Kids don't like astronauts, science fiction or outer space anymore? Out of all the different figures they produce 1 astronaut is out of the question?
There's this local comic book nerd mental case I know that doesn't talk about anything else but Star Wars, Batman & super heroes CONSTANTLY! If I try to talk about something different like Dragon's Dogma or Mass Effect he pulls out his cell phone & checks for new messages & the only reply I ever get is "huh!". Doesn't hear a single word I say & just says "huh!". I told him last night that I would absolutely love it if I never had to hear about fucking Batman or Star Wars ever again. That just killed it. He had nothing else to say. Do they have a name for people like that? I know it's a serious mental disorder but I'm not sure what it's called. Is it obsessive/compulsive or something else? I was planning to get him back by only talking about Mass Effect whenever he's around. But I can't do it, I'm not a dick, jackass mental case like that. I tried but I just can't hold it together long term.
Ok, I just felt like throwing that out there for shits n giggles. I was mainly going to rant about ninjas & zombies in GI Joe but figured I might as well add all the other stuff that's been pissing me off lately.

I know he's not technically "new" but it's something different from the usual crap we always get.
And the checking of the cellphone thing... ADD. Dude should probably take adderall to stay focused.
I don't think he has a problem focusing. He stays focused on the subjects he's interested in. I think he pretty much does it on purpose whenever somebody talks about something he knows nothing about. A normal person would show some interest in a new subject, try to learn a little about it & form an opinion. But this guy is just stubborn or spiteful. If you're not talking about Batman or Star Wars he immediately shuts you off. Won't even give a new subject a chance. He's interested in what he's interested in & to hell with everybody else. You listen to what he wants to talk about or else he turns you off & goes to check new text messages. He only does what he wants to do at all times. He's like a little kid that never grew up & has to have his way at all times. I dunno, I'm just wonderig if it's an actual medical condition or if he's just a natural born prick.
*In before some says.. "Another Steel Grave Post"...
I don't really have anything special to say. SDCC looks pretty cool. I like all the new MOTUC figures & it was totally awesome to see my 2 favorites displayed next to each other, Spikor & Stinkor. Never thought they'd actually make Spikor.
It sucks that most of the Marvel Universe females are in 2 or 3 packs.

I bitched about it for the first day. Over on the Bioware forum I've been posting stuff like "you guys are STILL going on & on about the ending?" or "40 pages & nothing's been said". lol Stuff like that.
The good thing about that is you have to go look for it. It's not shoved in your face constantly like Batman or Spider-Man. If you want to talk about the ending of Mass Effect you have to put effort into it & go to the sites that talk about it. But everywhere I go friggin Batman & Spider Man & Star Wars is shoved down my throat. And Justin Beiber. This fuckin dude is all over Walmart just like the Olsen twins were a few years ago. You can't take 2 steps in Walmart without this douchebucket staring at you.

I'm with you man...to some extent. I like the zombie vipers/hazard vipers compound z theme that ran around a bit. That concept case at joecon just about made me sick. I hope that most of that shit goes away forever. I love Gijoe and where ever it goes is ok with me cause we have history, if there is stuff that comes down the tube that's don't like...I won't buy it. I think the cool thing about today's world of Gijoe is that so many people can create there own stories and make there own custom figures or vehicles that it really doesn't matter to me how many ninjas and monsters show up in the line. If there is a figure or playset or jeep that's want...I'll make it myself.
Oh and John Carter from mars is in my opinion still the best movie I've seen this year.

I'm looking forward to the Zombie Pack displayed at JoeCon as it should match well with a storyline I am contemplating. Some of us just aren't customizers.

Snow White
Battleship is my favorite. They cranked the volume & it was a total blast. Most fun I've had in the theater in a long time. I went to see Snow White & then I saw Battleship a second time. That was the best day at the movies!

Ok well why so many ninja in Joe? Well for one the two of the most popular characters are ninja. Snake-eyes and Storm Shadow. Ninja have been apart of the Joe mythos since 83.
And the new movie is chalked full of ninja that is why they are ninja crazy because this is the movie line we are talking about now.
The Zombie thing.....everyone is doing zombies ( I have to admit I love the Zombie Viper)...hell I am just waiting to hear they are making Marvel Zombies as a live action movie. Look at how popular The Walking Dead is.....
To my point Hasbro has always played follow the leader......when Captain Planet came one the scen Joe's suddenly had Eco Force....Jurassic Park comes along Joes are now hunting Dinosaurs.....Aliens are popular Joes starting going in outer space. Just say no to drugs Joe's have the DEF. Going into all kind of crazy directions is nothing new for Hasbro.
All of that crap is a BIG reason why the ARAH line ended in 94 right when someone said hey maybe we should get back to more miltary but it was too late.
I am not saying this the end of Joe...we got some badass stuff coming up but once te movie stuff goes this movie line will end just like ROC and something new will take it's place...which I am sure we will see what that is at Toy Fair in Feb and next JoeCon.

As always Steelgrave, the point of your rant has merit, and I stand behind the very ideal. Something new would be great.
But EVERY SINGLE example you use to make that point is moot. Avengers was awesome (nothing was ever done like that before). Zombies in GI Joe is awesome (and was still pretty much brand new a year ago). And Fall of Cybertron will be awesome! Even if you know the story, you've never played/lived through it or pwned anyone while doing so. I could go on...but thats the problem you're having.
I understand your frustration, but please work on your comparisons and analogies or don't use any at all. That what makes no one want to focus on your initial idea, dude.

The Club will probably be coming out with the Ultimate Ninja Showdown set next year and then they will follow up with the Dawn of the Undead set the next.
I am with you dude.
Hasbro is reportedly "frustrated" that their Joe products are not reaching retail. It is a no brainer why.
Along with getting a new version of Duke, CC, SE, and SS every single wave we never get to see anything else.
Keep in mind, Hasbro designers seem to be hard at it sculpting some pretty rad shit. Yet the big wigs at Hasbro axe it all in favor of yet another Duke, CC, SE, and SS.
And they are "frustrated" that their line is a doomed peg warmer series.
They repeat their mistakes over and over and over.
We fans lament on Hasbros seemingly inexhaustible supply of inability to change.
Ninjas and Zombies.
I cannot think of a worse line of peg warmers ever.
When the dust settles, even Dollar General won't carry the ninjas and zombies.
Its all a joke. Mother forgive me.

I also have great idea on how to market the upcoming waves of Joes.
Since Hasbro is goofing things all to hell and when the dust settles, even Dollar General won't be stocking these ninja and zombie figures because these are just stupid peg warmers.
Hasblo will still be frustrated because they still cannot figure out why kids and collectors alike are just totally sick of v85 Duke, v186 Snake Eyes, and v892 Storm Shadow.
So, I envision a new marketing strategy for Hasbro. 2nd Tier Mexican fast food favorite Taco Tico(but their food actually does tastes better than main corporate whore Taco Bell) can give out promotional G.I. Joe figures for free with the purchase of any Extra Value or Kids Meal.
2 Beef Enchiladas, beans, chips, a medium drink, and one Duke!
This idea is going to revolutionize the distribution of G.I.Joe. I can hardly wait to make this so!!!!!

Corporate America will tell you what you want, and it is nothing even remotely new and original or innovative. I blame technology. The internet, computers and smart phones all have created a world that THRIVES in A.D.D. Instant gratification of the hottest, newest thing that's instantly forgotten after the next newest thing comes out. So what sells in this kind of climate? The things that seem to be elevated above the rest; ninjas, zombies, superheroes. Hollywood in particular wants a guaranteed sure thing, so they stick to a formula that has been proven successful. And everything stagnates. I haven't seen a new movie that has impressed me in years. But I've read several dozens of books that would make amazing movies, but it won't happen. Or worse, it does and is terrible with hardly any resemblance to the book.
But for every one of us that want something better, there are legions of those that are happy to get spoonfed the same tripe over and over and clamor for more. And that's the way it will be until intellectuals take back the world.

it's the current Hollywood trend of the past 5 years or so - redo as much older movies as we can, add lots and lots of cursing and people will see it.
Video games have become as unoriginal as the movies...how many Call of Duty clones are there out there. Nothing sells but shooters is the new Mantra. Occasionally we get a Portal but not very often.
Hasbro is just like any other company looking to make money - jump on the bandwagons and hope you can sell some product before the fad fades.
Unfortunately, I don't see that model changing anytime soon across any medium because people apparently love the shit out of the same stuff over and over again.

Zombies are very down to Earth, that's why people like to pick on them. They are truly part of the 99%.
John Carter suffered from horrendous marketing and no executive leadership at Disney. No other reason.
Everything else is marketing with the occasional nod to fans. Ninjas were proven with sales and stuck around. if they don't remain popular, they GONE. MASK was a tip of the hat to our generation, and wasn't meant to spark it's own line of figures.
Avengers has had over 1/2 decade of movie tie in marketing behind it to prep people, plus fifty plus years of name recognition, it was destined to be a hit and I loved it.
If G.I. Joe suffers from anything, it's brand confusion at the packaging and marketing level. They've done a great job of keeping the line not only going but changing, and you can never have too many Duke variants! Honestly though, take a look at the line laid out year to year, we've had some lean times but so did all the other toy lines, and things are pretty damned good right now. It might be a real blessing the film was held back for almost a year. Better a moderate hit tomorrow than a bomb today.

I'm down with no more origin stories... that shit has GOT to stop... I never thought this would happen, but I'm not the least interested in seeing Spiderman and while I really enjoyed the last Dark Knight the new one looks like fecal matter on a stick...
I can't say I'll agree on the Ninjas and zombies... as for Ninjas, what is cool about that is that Hasbro is finally breaking away from the entirety of Ninjaville being Snake Eyes and stormshadow, and Smurphette (ummm... Jinx...). Going a little crazy with the Ninjas IS a cool idea and Hasbro should be thanking Jon Chu for the nudge....
As for the astronaut thing, yes, in the same way hat exploring Ninjaville is kind f cool, I would have shat my pantaloons to see a full-blown team of astronauts in realistic space gear, even if it started to skew a bit futuristic.
The Joeverse is all about putting these teams in different scenarios, and so it's kind of fun to explore those. One hard-to-locate Zombie does NOT an endless swarm make... unless he's REAL good at biting other Joes... but so far that has not been the case.
I'm not sick of Ninjas or Zombies, but I WOULD expect to see them as part of a short year or two run of the line.
As for Astronauts, what would most excite me is for Hasbro to have a storyline wherein old spaceship tech was used to combat a threat, not unlike the way the USS Iowa was used in "Battleship" (Don't start! I'm not gonna go down THAT road with anyone...) so that we could have a legitimate smattering of Joestonauts from different times in space travel history. In that way they could test a run of maybe six figures and see if there is enough interest to do vehicles.
But no more origins!!!! Got a story? Just tell it and move on....

I am all for any direction that makes the line popular with the kids. If they want zombies and ninjas, give 'em what they want.
I'm not a big fan of the "super realistic military" type figures, but if that gets kids buying... Then that's what Hasbro should make.
I would happily sit on the sidelines for a year or two, passing up figures i didn't care for, if it meant the brand was growing and we were creating a new generation of G.I. Joe fans.
But that would hardly happen. I would buy every unique Ninja, and i would love to be able to select from several different zombie figures. And if the line does go "super realistic military", as long as the kids are buying it i'll deal with it.

I havew 2 main problems with the ninjas:
#1 Back in 82 GI Joe said MODERN MILITARY. Ninjas are from ancient feudal Japan. If you're going to move GUI Joe into a huge ninja craze like they're doing with Retaliation. Then you might as well take them back to muskets & horse back. WTF do ninjas have to do with "MODERN MILITARY"? Did the president send ninjas out to Vietman, or the Gulf War? Did ninjas hunt down Saddam & Bin Ladden?
#2 Cobra had 1 ninja, Storm Shadow. They had 1 Saboteur, Firefly. 1 Weapons supplier, Destro. 1 Mercenary, Major Blood. 1 mad scientist, Dr. Mindbender. etc etc. So why isn't just 1 ninja good enough? And if Roadblock is a ninja now, does that mean Rock n Roll is too? WTF

This idea is going to revolutionize the distribution of G.I.Joe. I can hardly wait to make this so!!!!!

Just 1 question: How can kids buy GI Joe?
1st problem is the price. Save $10 for 1 GI Joe figure or save $10 for a used video game?
2nd problem is the availability. GI Joe section= EMPTY. Video game section= FULL.
3rd problem is fun factor. A GI Joe figure is cool for about a half hour. Then it becomes a useless chunk of plastic that takes up space & collects dust. Video game can be played for days & is lots of fun, then when you're tired of it you can trade it in for a new game.
Heh! No wonder toys are losing to video games.

He only does what he wants to do at all times. He's like a little kid that never grew up & has to have his way at all times.
Well Pot, it seems you've met your Kettle.
WTF
G.I. Joe was never "modern military" in the 80's. It was "modern military FANTASY." No "modern military" on Earth had laser troopers, giant towable laser cannons, and jet packs when ARAH hit.
Oh, and in case you forgot, the Larry Hama scripted (so to speak) story that first introduced Storm Shadow in the comics? Yeah, guess what? He was palling around with a whole gang of Red Ninjas. They never had "just one."
And seriously, people need to get over the butt-hurt about Roadblock being a "ninja commando." It's not as if it takes more than half a braincell and a tiny spark of imagination to ignore that tidbit of marketing and appreciate (or not) the figures for what they are rather than what the silly words on the generic packaging say. There wasn't NEARLY this degree of butt-hurt when City Strike Duke came out, and he's essentially the exact same thing.
Heh! No wonder toys are losing to video games.
Video game sales are down almost 30% from this time last year.

Zombies: I think Hasbro held off making these because they may think the concept is reaching its zenith and by the time they get them to shelves its over. Any zombies at SDCC? Dragon con? if not then it is pretty much done.
Origin stories, I hated this back when they kept re-telling origins in the comics especially Punisher.
Thanks to the internet age "everyone" is "dumb" and has to have every little detail explained to them in a movie it seems; or so Hollywood thinks. There is a distinct lack of interest in looking into things further or researching after the movie. Prometheus was not about Aliens at all, it was a message about Religion and/or the eternal question of man's origins and the ever curious nature of humanity.
Ninjas have always had some sort of allure, not sure why, I never cared for martial arts movies or tv series. Perhaps it is the thought that you can do so much damage (Bruce Lee aka Quick Kick) with just your hands and feet. or Perhaps it is the mental discipline that they need to focus, or the mystery of a masked individual.
and someone PLEASE give Steelgrave some astronaut figures? The dude needs some joy in his life.
maybe you will get some in the micro figure line.

I'd be all for Payload, Countdown, and Astro-Viper being made/remade. Astro-Viper (v1) was one of my favorite "later era" Joe figures. Just loved that bulky space-suit and armed jetpack getup as a kid.
But then again, our "modern military" doesn't send special ops guys into space to fight terrorists (much less on their own space shuttles), so I guess we can't have astronauts or it might offend Steelgrave's sensibilities. Oh well!

I think it's interesting to see incarnations of characters throughout various comics/cartoon/toys even, they can be redesigned, refurbished, yet however, the intrinsic parts of their character still remain. For instance, Rock and Roll, he's still that badass that his 1983 File Card says he is and it still applies to his character in Resolute. That's what I think is cool.

Okay one thing, before you claim stuff like Transformers is being run into the ground you have no idea what the 3 current transformer comics are doing. 2 Don't have Optimus or Megatron and they take place on cybertron and in space! and they're NOT prequels like war for cybertron.
I just wanted to get that out there because all the work IDW is doing with the comics is great and new and I just wanted you to know there are new things in some brands.

The problem you are having is the assumption that anything is actually "New". There are really only a handful of plots, and character archetypes... It's just how you shuffle them around. Excellence is in the appearance of newness. It's like rotating produce at a grocery store. Also excellence is in the execution... And some of those ninja and zombie sculpts look just fantastic. I think its great to be passionate about your hobby, but if it leads to anger over your unfufilled whims, maybe its time to re l-evaluate your POV. (I've been there and had to do so)

at the end of Amazing Spiderman they made a jab about this, the teacher said (paraphrasing) "there are some who would say there are 10 basic stories you can tell, I say there is only one: Who Am I?"

I like ol' Steely and think he brings up a valid point, even if many here would prefer to shoot the messenger and ignore the message. GI Joe toys as presented as concept ideas at JoeCon being overrun with ninjas and zombies is a cop-out (maybe pun intended). I can understand and forgive the ninja thing for the movies; it's clearly kid bait and the movie is trying to reach a mass audience. I even like my rubbery Red Ninjas (except the hands). GI Joe has a much larger creative potential than is being utilized, but I'm not the one calling those shots. I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed.
I'm trying to wipe Prometheus from my memory.
You're not the only one.
Origin stories, I hated this back when they kept re-telling origins in the comics especially Punisher.
"Welcome back Frank" was a steaming pile of crap, but Enis' later (and earlier- KILL that Marvel U) work in the main series was awesome. After that series ended, everything I have seen following it has been utter garbage, to the point I don't even look at new Punisher titles any more.
Prometheus was not about Aliens at all, it was a message about Religion and/or the eternal question of man's origins and the ever curious nature of humanity.
That's how it was marketed, but what it actually was: an expression of Ridley Scott's butt hurt at being seriously one-upped with his own concept. That movie had so much potential, but in the end was just another self-righteous, self indulgent, high concept, low content CGI crapfest. It's worse than the acting in AVP: Requiem, 'aliens' or no.
I was thinking of quitting joes and buying an electic guitar that looks like James Hetfield's circa 1988 and getting a huge Marshall Amp. Got to try new things. Keeps the mind fresh.

Thhe stuff like Star Wars and super heroes does well because there are big companies pyushing this stuff, they push it because it makes them big money.
There really wasn't much behind John Carter (other than Disney) but it had no marketability, so they didn't push it as hard and it floundered.
The ninja thing I don't get, ninjas were big in the 80's.
Zombies however, are the new big "thing", lots of mass market appeal, so it gets applied to LOTS of stuff.

I'm all for the modern and realistic GI Joe, but I'm also all for the more fantasy element GI Joe as well. I think there's room for both. And there's not a single rule that says you have to A) buy them or B) play with them side-by-side when you do buy 'em.
At no point did I say "Hey, Joe doesn't work, let's re-purpose our characters for a new generation... personally, I only read ARAH comics and only sporadically at that, I love the ARAH cartoon and tolerate some of the newer stuff, but don't consider it canon. Joe for me was cast in a die when Sunbow released the first season of the cartoon back in the early '80s.
Having said that, in the same way that you are tired of origins stories (and who isn't...?) you have to allow for different story elements to crop up from time to time. Since I never considered Snake or Stormy to be legit Ninjas (not dressed the way they dress.... ) the infusion of a more Ninja-esque Ninja group is actually kind of welcome.
As for Zombies, well, who doesn't want more zombies? The Walking dead are just chock full of story possibilities and are frankly riding a tide of popularity. Doesn't mean I want Joe to always be fighting zombies, although to be honest we really SHOULD unleash those puppies against Al Qaeda....
It doesn't diminish Joe to add some fantasy to the show. It gives it a sense of fun and color. If you want a strictly realistic soldier movie you can always turn on Saving Private Ryan. But for me the premiere early Joe movie was Predator, which had a unique and divergent cast who went up against a tough fantasy opponent and it was downright fun to watch.
Unless of course you prefer that Larry The Cable Guy movie where he's in the army, in which case I have nothing further to say to you.

Zombies and Ninjas are what the kids find cool so they keep the brand fresh.
If the brand isn't fresh it goes the same way as the numerous movie lines that ended up in the penny clearance bin.

The problem with John Carter was it sucked, no it wasn't a real stinkburger, but it SHOULD have been better, the changes made from the book (like the inclusion of the grey robed guys) shifted the entire focus of the story.
To the adverage person Avengers is new, most have a very informal introduction to them if any at all. However, the way the movie was delivered (with basicly 4 prequels to introduce the mains) is pretty new and original, never been done before.
Ninjas: I'm ok with ninjas to a point (pretty much if you look at the old ARAH line anything before and including Night Creepers in 1990 I am fine with, after that, primarly Ninja Force, I get kind of uptight about). I am hating that everything has to have 'Ninja" on the toys right now, to me this is very shortsighted. It's especially troubling when you consider every time Ninjas have an overwhelming focus the line goes on "Hiatus"
The Ninjas shown in the case, I admit I would grab that one with a skull, he rocked, a couple of the others were interesting but nothing to write home about.
Zombies, if you mean just GI Joe, well they really need to have a presence in order for us to be sick of them. I would like to have the Zombie figs shown in the case though, those rocked. But Joe itself has only had 2 figures that can be considerd zombies (Toxo-Zombie, who to me is the funniest figure ever made, and Zombie Viper) so really it's not been to bad yet.
If you mean in general, well that's easy enough to ignore, the only Zombie stuff that has ever stuck with me is the Ramero "Dead" films and The Walking Dead, each for various reasons.

FUCK M.A.S.K. TOO!

ok wow dude a few things here.....
first I think you need to consider the basica fact the Geek Sheek is here to stay...for now. that means all your beloved geek stuff is gonna get overdone or at least mainstreamed. In the end thats a good thing for everyone BUT those who like stuff to be theres alone and undergound. Its like all those fans who loved Limp Biskt till it was all over mtv then they said it sell out music! lol!!!
same with comics and all the geek stuff. so Basically with out being a dick I say get over it.
Second this makes me think of a subject that I have wanted to start a thread about, and that is timeless propteries. has it occured to you that the propeerties you have named are timeless? starwars batman spiderman zombies vampires have all bridged several generations what makes you think they should be "new" or "better" than they have already been established? nor would they ever go away? You dont want starwars to go away, really your dont your tired of it cause you may have been a fan of for a long time and want something new, Ok I get it so go watch Battlestar! (if u have not already)
the property you named MASK is not timeless thus you want more of it but does or will MASK do what TF starwars, spiderman, and batman can and that is be a timeless property that can span generations? IDK but clearly hasbro is not willing to take a chance to find out.

If those zombies and ninjas were dressed in neon space gear, Steelgrave would have jerked off all over himself.

More Astronauts and robots please. My Defiant is lonely. Ninja's rule! There may be too many SSs and SEs, but there can never be enough ninja's. Zombie's might be overplayed... but I still love them.

I actually read that whole thing you post..
*In before some says.. "Another Steel Grave Post"...
That's hilarious, because all I read was the "I feel like ranting." part of the title, and didn't even have to look to see who was posting.

"Zombies and Ninjas are not original. Stick with just re-doing all of the old ARAH figures, please."
(yes, I know that isn't what you're saying, it's just something I feel whenever I see someone complain about Zombies and Ninjas not being "original")

if Hasbro decides to keep zombies around (shelf life on their popularity is growing shorter every day) They will need an "anti-zombie force" to counter attack the threat.

John Carter is far from new, Edger R Burrows(sorry if that's not spelled right) wrote a bunch of books about him over fifty years ago.
There aint nothin new under the sun.

I'd just like to point out that John carter is not new, but is over 100 years old, and there have been previous movies made based on Burroughs story.

WTF
apparently the president did send ninjas to Vietnam since Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes were both there. :)

You know something new I'd like to see, Steelgrave?
Posts from you that are not rants/complaining about how butt hurt you are about not getting what you want. But I don't think you have it in you to do that.
Just collect ARAH stuff. You'll be happier. and so will the rest of the tank since you'll complain less.

Ninjas and zombies are getting too much attention in pop culture. Before you even say it, we'll get a Ninja Cooking show on the Foodnetwork. A Zombie beauty pageant. Zombie make-up line. Ninja restaurant. There really is one in NYC.

I don't know anything about any rants from Steelgrave, because I don't pay that much attention, but this made me lol.

There is something uniquely phsychological in the human attraction to monsters. That being said, I think companies will continue to exploit this as people continue to show interest in monsters. Who knows? Maybe Hasbro will introduce Lycan and Vampire Vipers to the viper corps in the following years.

Actually with what Hasbro showed at Joecon, they really didn't get as far into the whole Zombie and Ninja stuff as they were apparently going to. The movie of course has everything to with the infamous ninja clan, but that is the movies' selling point for the sales side of things.
No I didn't miss what you were talking about. Please note that I also didn't read through all the pages either.
I have felt the same way about many movies. The ones that really pop, to me, are the ones that actually show originality in filmmaking, story, special effects, characters. A new twist on any of these archs make me want to clap for its awesomeness.
Avatar, for example, was not a favorite of mine. Why? because it had everything that I have seen and heard a million times. 3-D, who cares.
I understand where you are coming from with this reboot this and that. Well, you can choose to go along with everything at a mind numbing pace or find something better to do with your life. Don't let what everybody likes get you down and don't join them because you feel like you have to. The point is to like what you like and to hell with everyone else. Be the change and do it because you want to see something different.

Ehn, I don't see the Club going that far. I think their fan/member base wouldn't be too keen on the zombie thing...UNLESS it was Cesspool, a couple Toxo-Vipers, a couple Sludge-Vipers, and a bunch of Toxo-Zombies.
I'd buy that
multiple times probably...

All steelgrave wants is something new. Who can really argue with that? Why argue with that?
Because as someone pointed out, he's not even asking for something new. He's asking for more remakes of something(s) old that just haven't been remade yet.
That and the ONE Zombie figure we got in the Joe line in recent years WAS new. But he's complaining about it because it was a Zombie.
That and if Steelgrave actually quit the hobby the dozen or so times he's claimed/threatened he was going to he wouldn't have anything to complain about.
