I found and purchased one Retaliation Ninja Combat Cruiser today at Target in Pennsylvania. Looks like it ships 1-per-case with a H.I.S.S. filling the other slot. It rings up in the system correctly for $19.99.

The date stamp on back is 21281 which means it was produced on May 7th, 2012, which I think was exactly 2 weeks before the press release announcing the movie's delay came out.

Julian date would be 12128

They could not have been produced and shipped from China in that amount of time.

How did you decipher the code date?

They could not have been produced and shipped from China in that amount of time.

It's standard date-stamping that Mattel and Hasbro have been using for years. First digit is the last digit of the year, next 3 digits are the chronologically counted day of the year.

I have seen toys hit the shelves here after being produced only 6 weeks ago in some cases. 8-10 weeks is the normal, average, typical time, which applies here. Anything longer than that usually only happens when things were held back for a street date or a lot of pegwarmers have been gumming up the system.

Yeah the Fangboat driver, Swamp viper is craptacular as well. Same 5 points of articulation no elbow bend, no ball joint shoulders or legs. No knee, foot or ankle articulation. Aweful figure.

I liked the idea of this for customizing since I hate the plastic colors they chose...unfortunately my local stores don't believe in stocking GI Joe, they just put out tantalizing peg hooks and shelf labels claiming that they sell the product, but never ever stocking it...what we really need in the lull is some rewind figure waves...make a GD single carded Alpine, and make him possible to acquire unlike that fabled last piece of the MASS Device...and single card some Range Vipers and other 7 pack exclusives that didn't get single cards...

The best thing you can do is take note of stores which are out-of-stock or have "limited availability" and then when they switch to in-stock status, you'll know they got a case in. I agree with you. I think this vehicle might have originally been a Cobra Vehicle and modern version of the Cobra Stinger. The figure looks like a modern Cobra Viper and where the Arashikage symbol is could easy have been a Cobra symbol. Also the doors are the same doors from the Cobra Stringer. It is a modern version, because there is more seat room and the missile turrent is modern missile turrent. So, I think this coulld have been a modern version of a Cobra Stringer, yet since the Joes have no big vehicle in the retailation series and Cobra has the Hiss Tank, this was switched from a Cobra vehicle to a GI Joe Vehicle.

I was surprised at how cool this vehicle actually is. Especially that the Arashikage symbol is a sticker and not printed. I definitely plan on grabbing a few more of these for custom Cobra Stingers

Who cares? If you don't like his price, don't buy it. I'd like to punch you in the throat for making that statement. These aren't exactly easy to find and the seller sees an opportunity. If it doesn't sell, their price will eventually fall.

On another note, this guy also has the Tread Ripper so it's possible he got these from Asia direct and I doubt they were cheap the way they're charging online.

You have to trim some plastic on the inside of the web gear, and I had to boil the vest to make it fit on Ret. Beachhead. After all that though, it looks great.

What not a Vamp mk II?

I see your point, espcially since it uses the same weapon system has the VAMP MK II, yet its color makes me think Cobra. I usually associate green or brown with Joe Vehicles, since most GI Joe vehicles are that color. I associate blue and black with Cobra vehicles. So, for me the color it comes in and the figure makes me think it was a Cobra Stringer, then because the Joes had no big land vehicles it was made into a GI Joe Vehicle.

One thing I do not like about this vehicle and all GI joe vehicles is the stickers. I really do not like putting on stickers.

Just stopped by my Target at East Hanover, NJ and found the Ninja Combat Cruiser. I really like the design of the vehicle and love the fact that Night Fox's torso armor is removable. I wasn't expecting that because I thought it was molded in one piece. Keep your eyes peeled.

Strange, I was at the Target in Clark the other day and most of the Retaliation items were on clearance for about 50% off. Got Firefly's cycle, the Hiss, and the moccasin. I also hit Menlo Park and Linden, but neither of those had joe stuff on clearance.

Don't know how to upload a pic from an iPad but the vamp and cruiser match exactly the same height at the tire flares but the cruiser tops the vamp roof by about 1/8 inch. Love this vehicle. Painted my tread ripper in camo and it looks great now too.

I think you can. You would have to take the POC VAMP apart, because the top on it is screwed in where the Ninja Cruiser is not. The pegs and holes look like they are the same and should fit. I will say, the Ninja Cruiser feels like it was rushed and does not feel as sturdy as the POC. VAMP. The tires do not fit tight and the top does not stay on. I plan on changing the tires like I did on my first VAMP and hot glue the top on for more support.

It's just a shell, so it shouldn't be a problem. Nice thing is the missile turret can come out and there's a hole for a mounted gun. So you can place a figure there as well.

If I understand correctly, then no. The the floor of the back, which is the same base mold as the two previous vamps, is higher that the two back seats. If you take a look at the profile view, the back sits above the wheel, where the seats sit even with the wheel.

Well, the dpci is definitely discontinued. I'm not sure if Target still ships discontinued dpci items to stores. I forgot to ask if they could check stock in warehouses. I figure they usually don't discontinue an item till it's been on the shelf a while and the warehouse has been empty. I know these are a special case.

I picked up a tread ripper the other day. I'd be willing to trade for a ninja combat cruiser with or without driver (but I'd like the rifle).

I picked up a ninja combat cruiser at a target in El Paso Tx, yesterday too. But I am having problems putting the information into my Database.

Is this thing considered a wave 2 release or wave 1 of the Bravo vehicles? Is the Driver Night Fox, a first version of the the character or another version of the character? The toy database here says this thing is unreleased, and YoJoe does not have it listed.

You have seven months to decide if you really want one.
Hasbro might release it again in another color, but why risk it. This is the 3rd round for the 'new VAMP', maybe it won't get another release. But with the cutbacks if they do release it might not have the doors and moonroof.

Ok, so after long anticipation I caved and picked this up today at Target, planning to use it as my Shock Trooper jeep. Sadly to say that I’m disappointed. I ‘ve seen all of the pics and tried to do as much homework on it as I could, but I think it’s either the colors, or lack of accessories or a combination of both. Maybe it’ll grow on me but given that my space is very limited, I can easily do without it.

Wow, that looks bad. The rims are the same color as the tires. The headlights are the same color as the body. No painted details, at all. Teal and light gray with black doors? Who came up with this color scheme?
