Well this my Daina... She is my first Oktober Guard figure, I expect to do a few more... but at the moment I don't have the parts.
I like the results, I would like to have a more accurate "beanie" but I like her look with this helmet and I think it fits a role of a helicopter pilot. I am not competing with the con exclusives... it wouldn't be a fair fight, for me of course ... and I think Daina is one of the best figures on the set, the only details I don't agree is the obvious too large "beanie" and that his facial features are a little too "girlish" (it is a nice head sculpt) ... and for me Daina is more a beautiful and fierce woman!
As usual feedback is appreciated.
ps: the other detail I don't agree about the con exclusive Daina is her availability! :-(

Hell I like this head being used better than the actual Daina we got.

I like it. I have that same head which I wanted to use for this, but I don't want to paint the whole figure as I don't want to deal with paint wear/rub. I wish Hasbro releases that mold in the brownish color. Just painting on Camoflage, I can deal with...haha.
Great job!

Very nice! Did you have to mod the head to get it to sit properly on the neck?

Use Model Masters and paint rub won't be an issue.

Great work!
That mold was always a great sculpt, good choice.
Paint is super sharp and clean, although the camo could be a bit more realistic, it works fine.
Don't worry about the beanie, the helmet you've chose works perfectly.
I'd like to mention the incredible advance and evolution on your customs. I've saw lots of humble customizers here become some of the best, and you're on that path!

Easy Griff.... there's factory paint apps right there indeed, all flesh, face and boots is the original painting.. .everything else is hard work!
Tks man!

Don't tell anybody but I do too... hehe
And I didn't got the con one... but I am content with this one.

So far in this piece I didn't have problems with paint rub... I "sanded" many joints and the applied a diluted coating that made the paint more resistant. I know you are a lazy boy in matters of painting your customs.. .though I like many of your pieces.
That looks amazing!! I love it!
Thank you!
Very nice! Did you have to mod the head to get it to sit properly on the neck?
I did.. kind of... since I am using many Star Wars heads I developed a cheating method... I use a stripe of tape until the heads fits comfortably, I use super glue in the beginning and at the end of the tape) and then paint over it.
Looks good.
Tks!!!!!!!!!!

I use humbrol enamel mostly, is Model Master that more resistant?
I use humbrol because here in Brazil it has more availability then testors...
Great work!

Thanks man, really, there're some guys here that get on my nerves because of how good they are... still I try to find my own path.
Yeahh the camo could be more realistic ... I don't know if is possible to note.. .but there are 3 collors in the camo, dark brown, another dark brown and green.. but when I applied the coat the contrast vanished a bit... by the way, my inspiration for the camo started here
Soviet Army Stuff - Russian Military Uniforms, "Ushanka" Fur Hats, Gas Masks, Badges. Spetsnaz. - Product details (http://www.sovietarmystuff.com/Product_552_Russian_Army_Spetsnaz_VDV_Uniform_Camo _Suit_Bekas_SMOG_Pattern.html)
But I was humble enough to no try that... also I wanted that the main color to be the light brown.
That is an excellent figure!
Thank you man!
Tks all for commenting... I do my customs because I love action figures and GI-Joe ... but I don't feel they are really finished until I share the pics here in the forums

Meh, don't worry about realism, as i've said, it works great your way.
As a matter of fact, i'm not a big fan of 100% total realistic accuracy.
Gi Joe is kind of corny, so figures always have some degree of non-realism, otherwise they would be just soldiers.
Your Daina looks pretty cool and characteristic enough. :D

Thank you ... since the first time I saw that Juno Eclipse head I though it would do a great russian or german joe girl.

Too lazy to try and sculpt the beanie ... :-)

So cool. I have been using a similar combo as GI Jane for a couple of years. I love that head sculpt. There are some nice female head sculpts in the SW lines.

Yes there are. I just picked up a Vintage Imperial Navy Commander. Great head sculpt. He is definitely going to be joining my Joe verse.
