he looks great man but, the scope is backwards. it's supposed to be a 1x4 so the larger bell should face towards the shooter for eye relief

Look at that... I made a mistake. It happens.
Thanks for pointing that out though. Wasn't sure what that was exactly, so I placed it as so. I'm thinking the rifle needs a slightly stronger scope anyway, so I might just replace it.
Thanks!

if he's a sniper then you'd definitely want something more powerful. especially on the .308 (7.62mm) you equiped him with. marauders makes a great scope that looks to be something in the 6x24 range. that'd work great.
i have this (1x4) scope on my ar-15. 1/2" 3 shot groupings at 100yds all day long. any further than that and things get difficult for me to make out. i ain't got the best eyes

I couldn't decide what to put on the gun, but didn't want anything too big, you know? I'll find or make something a bit more fitting.
The other thing is, this guy is intended for more medium range shooting in an urban environment. No need for anything too crazy!

sure. i gotcha. i whipped a little something up lastnight. i just took the mgr 417 (or fos as the refer to it) and gave it a 20" barrel (which is ideal for a sniper). i also installed the scope i was referring to in my previous post. added an "advanced armaments" style suppressor (the suppressor collar actually slides over the barrel and clicks into place. no screw on crap. i created it by drilling out the mgr version a bit), finished it off by extending the stock and adding the mgr bi-pod. voila, m.e. stalker (or any figure that uses that torso) holds it PERFECTLY.
the pics are crappy and i have to clean up some putty but you get the idea.

I have that scope, which is probably what I'll use too. Thanks for the pics!
I will however, stick to using my modded weapons over that thing in your pic.:)

Oh... I have correct 1:18th scale issues that 99% of members know me for. Nothing personal on you.

gotcha. so you don't think the mgr hk417 is 1/18th scale accurate?

Not one bit. The whole gun is proportionally larger than what it would be scaled down correctly, regardless of which HK version it's allegedly based on.

guess we'll just have to "agree to disagree". i've held and shot a 417 (the 16" version") it's a wonderful .308 BEAST. the rail system is close to 3 inches wide and with the stock fully extended it's over 3 feet long.

Again, the WHOLE gun is proportionally too big. Individual components are not correctly scaled based on real counterparts.
If you like it, and use it... more power to you. It's just not for me.
