Went to my local TRU today for the fresh stock and what I was expecting a 30th box, because that is that the stock guy told me was coming in. Low and behold a case ove wave 2 POC. I was super happy because I got into collecting after POC and was happy to get retail for the figs.

Keep an eye out at your local Walgreens. The one by me has been gettng many older POC figures lately in lieu of Renegades, Cobra Shock Trooper, Aleey Viper, Jungle Viper, Beachhead etc.

My TRU has literally 36 Renegades CCs on the pegs since before Christmas and no other figures... He now has surpassed Arctic Destro as the worst peg warmer I have encountered. These will never sell...

I did not even know these were shipping. Like I said, I bought the Jungle Tracker dude since he looked pretty cool and he makes me think of Predator. The Beachhead was not bad either, but I like the Resolute one better. Actually, if I had the money (they were $10 a piece), like the Alley Vipers, I would have also gotten the Riot Troopers.

Damn, I wish my area would get some more cases. My area largely passed over the entire POC line when it was new, and the cases that finally have come in are just weird. Get this; w1 Storm Shadow w3 Duke w4 Skydive and for some reason my area got a Lifeline and Airtight from the 30th line packed in. Hell I haven't even seen an Arctic Destro, that's how desolate Joes have been here.

Seems like all the POC that are shipping out are pretty random, I guess Hasbro is just squeezing out the last bit of stock they had left over.

Well, the easiest route Hasbro has to keeping the pegs filled without pushing out more movie merchandise is to re-release in-demand waves. PoC had some waves that were hard to find and it would be relatively easy of them ramp up production on figures that already exist. The fact that these figures are re-appearing so quickly makes me wonder if TRU had them in a warehouse and never shipped them or was this on Hasbro's end? Either way, we can be sure these weren't made since the movie announcement - just too little time.

I've got 20 Shocks, 20 Vipers, 20 Blue Shirts, 20 Zombies, 20 Bats, and 10 of almost all the other major Army Builders...all opened and displayed.

What we'll see on the BSTs is people having 10X of the ones in stock - Ultimate SE, Beachhead, etc. as soon as these aren't available on TRU in the next day or so and then they'll be back up to $20. To me that's hoarding or I guess capitalism.

If they're opened, I'd say you're a troop builder. If you keep them all sealed, then it's probably hoarding. If you're selling them at a triple markup, then you're just paying for your 3 meals, gas, entertainment, and all expenses incurred on the day you ordered/bought them.

You never see Hasbro reps in stores helping them keep the pegs stocked anymore..

Retail has been so shady since the re-emergence of single carded Joe figures back in 2007. Many HTF figures are missing before a case gets put out for purchasing as well as fluctuating prices makes it not even worth the hunt anymore. I honestly think Hasbro doesn't really care too much about how well the G.I.Joe brand performs in retail. Poor distribution is a continuing issue that we all raise as a concern for each Q & A and nothing has changed over the last two years. Complete waves do not get sent to Target which is the most accessible retailer nationwide, but Hasbro claims that they are not aware of this? Are Hasbro reps even held responsible for reporting these trends to corporate for the brand to be evaluated?

Also, the case layouts are completely dumb. For HTF figures like Low-light and 30th Storm Shadow its easy to see the demand for these after a few months of the waves being within retail. Why not send out a refresher case to distribution centers that have at least 2 each of these figures? This is a easy way to make sure that everyone has a fair chance at getting figures they want but Hasbro just wont do it!!!

And for Retaliation? WTF was the thought process behind not continuing the brand due to the film's delay? It kills me that Hasbro thinks its smart to not have any new merchandise for the Christmas season. WTF!?! This is dumb as a bag of door knobs. The film's success doesn't naturally guarantee the toys will perform well in retail. Also, with recent trends, the big three toy retailers do not evenly get all wave/case assortments in every region due to street dates and poor case layouts that hinder more figures being requested as predicted. If they have another sale for the retaliation product that included "gijoe" then you can get a nice price adjustment. With a retroactive bogo these will be $7.50 a piece.

It's POC the revision case Hasbro offered earlier this year. TRU probably planned to use them as backstock should the Retaliation toys have done well enough to make shelf space for them. Since the movie toys have been clearanced and they have Joe figure pegs, that's what's going in them.

You really need to think a bit more logically about marketing, distribution, and manufacturing lead times.

While I would also love to see this, unfortunately Hasbro has made it pretty clear they are focused on what they need to do to get back into retail selling massive numbers. And I think the DTC failure has only reinforced that for them.

Actually, Hasbro has more pull then you think, they continue to make questionable judgments that counteract the success of the Joe brand. I know this first hand by knowing people that work at Hasbro, Toys R Us and Walmart and from working in retail myself.

Retailers are to blame more than Hasbro, but Hasbro has control over the assortments in revision cases especially if the brand has demonstrated that it can sell. The only reason people can make so much of a profit off of an action figure online is because nothing is done to make a figure easier to find once it is shown to be a "hot-seller".

Also, there are shady practices from retailers, especially in the MD area. I've seen first hand how people are either resilient to help anyone when it comes down to finding more product in the back. On more than one occasions stock people that are nice enough to look in the back for certain figures always find them in odd locations. Its just frustrating to even try looking anymore.

As far as the retaliation toy line, Hasbro actually takes a lost in the long run with the toyline going on clearance shelves after the first case assortments are sent to stores. It's really a no brainer; continue to market the brand in the interim of the film being released with newer product.

You should really understand that not everything is as concrete based on what Hasbro reveals as regular business practice with retailers.

Hopefully some of you can complete your POC collections now, because IMO it is the best ME line period. My only complaint (a small one) is the basic filecards, but over 90% of the figures are great; lots of articulation and accessories.

The Croc Master and Blowtorch spoken of are variants - I can't remember what the Croc Master looked like, I wanna say maybe Python Patrol, but the variant Blowtorch was and olive drab and tan color. Supposedly, these were to come out at retail, but no one ever saw them. IDK if anyone has one at all.

As per your advice, I called TRU to see what could be done about price matching yesterday's order and, though I was on hold for more than 15 minutes, the representative was helpful enough to begin processing a refund for the difference of $36, but they won't refund the tax. It's supposed to take 3-5 days for it to appear, according to him.

Thank you for the direct number Dave, was able to get this done while eating lunch :). Didn't even realize TRU did price adjustments over the phone, what I'd been doing in the past when I needed an adjustment on a TRU.com order was to just haul the stuff to a store and get the adjustment done there. This saves me a trip which is fantastic.
