OK, first let me say I have been a Joe fan for 30 yrs, and will all ways be one. That being said I have to say, I just bought the G I Joe Retaliation Ghost Hawk II, and I have to say this toy is a huge let down. I mean come on the duke figure is awful, he doesn't even have legs that bend at the knee, he is straight armed and straight legged. Wth? And the missiles are only half formed and when looking at the thing from underneath the hollow tale and bombs look awful and extremely cheap. Has Hasbro lost so much money that they have had to cut such corners? I know the toy is large and only 19.99 but I would have gladly paid 25.99 if it allowed them to fix this glaring piece of crap. I am sorely offended that Hasbro has done this, and now I am afraid to buy any other of their new toys in case they are as shoddy as this one. Maybe I am over acting, but I expect better quality from Hasbro.

Hellooooo Alabamian!! I agree with you 100% on the quality. I passed on the movie crap and focused on loose Renegades and some Resolute figs. I never got the Resolute packs and found them for 30 bucks each online the other day.

Was this really a surprise? Haven't we been going nuts about this since the reveals at Toyfair in February? Or when they were released six weeks ago?

I'm not trying to bust your balls homey but if you didn't know this was coming, you lived in a dark, desolate cave for the last 7 months.

The drivers for the vehicles are all like that.

Some of the later waves of Retaliation (like most other sub lines for Joe) will contain some of the better figures.

It's just a matter of if they make it to retail. Hasbro will re-distribute wave 1 again next year or around the Holidays. (Hope for the latter) These have to sell through before the better stuff show up.

Sucks you were in the hospital off and on for 8 months. There is some decent Retaliation stuff out there like the Joe trooper and the red ninja.

At the JoeCon, Hasbro responded to the lack of articulation for the new line. Basically, they want to provide a driver/pilot figure for all vehicles for the kids (toys target audience) and to keep the price reasonable cut the articulation.
It was not well-received (IMHO) but understood by most.

BigBri1001
07-06-2012, 10:57 PM
That's a cop out on their part, they know that 70% off their sales come from those above 20 yrs of age and prob 20% of the kids that play with the toy got it from a parent who bought it because they remember GI Joe from when they were kids. Bottom line they wanna make more $ at the cost of their true customers.

what REALLY sucks about the Ghost Hawk is the wings pop off SUPER EASY! I was trying to mount all the missiles and the wings kept popping off! I am seriously considering gluing the thing together! I know they have safety standards to follow, but the 30th Skystriker didn't have this issue! Glad I got my Ghost Hawk for free! (without pilot, which was no biggie at all).

kids dont like playing with toys that fall apart. por ejemplo... my son likes his new hiss and ghost hawk just fine, when they keep falling apart on him he doesnt like it.

Ya know I was thinking about gluing em on as well. Cause I had the same problems putting the missle on. shame on you Hasbro, I mean how did this thing pass quality inspection? For a company who said they were making the vehicles to be geared towards kids, must have forgotten kids DO NOT like toys they have to keep putting back together, every time they pick it up to play with it.

This is part of a new marketing strategy, make toys that break really easy or fall apart so that you have to buy a new one to replace it.

I don't know how many of those huge plastic orange General Lees I went through, probably half a dozen, they just did not jump as well as the one on TV.

Usually, vehicles like that I just try glue. However, some vehicles with severe issues get stripped of all useable parts and the carcass winds up in the garbage can.

My only complaint about the Ghosthawk 2 is that it only seems to have bombs and missiles. It should have a machine gun too. Other than that, I think it kicks azz.

although the sky striker wings might not just fall off for no reason, they would still pop off if you were a kid actually playing with it. i bought mine a while back and the only few times i have touched it,wings and missles on the ground. how embarassing it was, because i was showing it to someone and it fell apart like a wet crap in my hands

God I hate that "It’s for the kids" excuse. It doesn't even make sense. So what, Hasbro is saying kids like cheap crap and are ok with it? I don't think so. I was a kid when the best vehicles of the entire Joe line were being made ("82 to '86) and I loved them. I would have been appalled with something as cheap and crappy as the new Sky Hawk or whatever it’s called.

We knew what crap toys were when we saw them and so do the kids of today…..maybe even more so.

How can they make such great figures (POC, 30th, etc...) and yet not be able to make good vehicles? It kind of blows my mind.

RAM, sidecar wont stay on mount broke. FANG roll bar on engine didn't fit right, Dragonfly skids and trigger wore out or broke. Wolverine tow cable, too short. Missiles on MMS won't fit right. Whirlwind gun mounts stripped out. ASP gun shields snapped, Stun Flags broke. thumbs on straight arms snapped off.

Well then you must play very rough with your toys. ;O)

Yes the Missiles on MMS could have been done a little better and yes some of the thumbs on some of the figures have broken off but they are 30 years old. I never had any of the other issues mentioned.

Hell, they weren’t all perfect but they were a dam sight better than most of the new Joe vehicles they put out these days. IMO
