help me guys. i'm trying to use yojoe.com and it's helping me somewhat, but i seem to have tons of diff shades of helmets. these are actual ones leftover from my childhood, so i know they are the real deal, but i have green, light green, gray, dark gray and on yojoe it'll say a green backpack, but dull green helmet, or olive green or blah blah blah and i want to make sure i get the exact helmet matched up for who it needs to go to.

.................or does the exact shade matter honesty, as long as it's close to a dull green, is that all that regular joe collectors go for? it's driving me bananas over here

the grey ones, brown ones and deep green ones are accesory packs versions

bright green-zap, steeler
greyish green-grunt, flash, breaker, short fuse, hawk, clutch
dark green- grand slam, rock n roll
they all use the helmet that matches there uniforms shade of green

you can see the accessory pack helmet colors here

This is an issue for me too. So, grunt/flash/breaker/short fuze/hawk/clutch all have the exact same helmet? No varation in tone?

so their helmets should match their body color exactly? i mean i have some gray helmets, that could be called an odd variation of green i guess. i am not color blind, but i have hard times distinguishing between colors that are close.

grayish green. what the hell is that? lol to me, all my gray look grayish green, but they don't match the green of the figures i don't think. i'm just anal, and want to make sure everything is together properly with correct accessories. some figs i have helmets for, some helmets have no body to go with them, so i guess that's making my job harder also

no variation in tone, but the figures with larger heads(grunt and grand slam) have slightly larger helmets to accomodate their heads iirc

see that looks like some of my helmet colors. what is throwing me, is yojoe will say the backpack is a specific shade of green, which i know for sure i have that color, then it'll say the helmet is supposed to be that exact shade of green also, but mine aren't exactly the same. they are semi close, but even i can call them diff shades. is this correct the helmet is diff shade than the backpack, even though yojoe says their color name is the same?

like anything there could hve been extremely slight differents of shades of color depending on the batch of plastic used in the production run, but they should be at least very similar. Could also be that one of those pieces has a slight amount of sun yellowing, hence the difference in color

ok. so i guess essentially what i'm wondering, is how particular are most gi joe collectors on that type thing? am i being overly anal about it? i'm pretty damn picky on my figs/vehicles, so i usually want everything correct and 100% complete

as long as it's the original accessory it's all good.

also over time plastic shrinks and some helmets might fit tightly possibly wearing paint from the head.

I have tons of helmets that are several different shades of the olive green drab color. If the helmet is a nice green color, it is most likely duke/roadblock's. The others are the 82/83figs. The plastic was changed in the making of the figures to a better quality. The original figures helmets colors ended up degrading from the normal color unlike the backpacks(thicker plastic). A partly way to tell is by looking at the inside of the helmet. Other than that is just trying to color match with their respective uniforms as much as possible. RnR and GS will match better. Steeler and Zap will not match up so easily as their helmets will be more green than their yellowish uniforms are.
