This was one of my first out of state commissioned customs and it was one of my most time consuming customs. A fellow Tanker contacted me about producing a custom vehicle for the unreleased Volcano Viper and the choice came down to a H.I.S.S. III or a 30th Anniversary Crimson. We decide to go with the Crimson and I think my fellow tanker will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome!

It's the McHiss!!!!!
Nice job on this though, those bright yellow and orange/red cancelled Volcano-Vipers will look fantastic with this.

While not a fan of the Volcano style, I'm simply amazed by your lines. Which ones are painted/masked and which ones are decals? If mostly painted, did you use airbrushing? I just can't get over how clean all the lines look!
Also, love the McHiss comment, now I'd like to see a matching figure, or troop... imagine a modern era Grimmace or Mayor McCheese.

Fantastic pain apps!
But it would not be a Hazard Viper HISS instead of Volcano?

Paint apps are really clean on this one. Never cared for the bright colored vehicles from back in the day, but this hiss kicks all types of ass! Like the man said, I'm lovin it!

It was a half and half, if that makes sense. The silver and black is model pinstriping tape, the reason being is trying to keep the expenditures down on my customs. But the rest of the Tank was meticulousy masked twice because of some unforeseen problems with the type of tape I was using (removed the sheen).

Thanks for the comment.
But the tanker that wanted this done wanted the color scheme to look similar to the unreleased Volcano Viper and not the all orange Hazard Viper.

I am a little let down sbartek you didn't even add a Cobra symbol to the picture.

Sorry. I can't get all that involved with it. I'm bidding on eBay auctions right now. But seriously, it is an awesome job you did on that HISS.

Thanks fredro that's quite the compliment, I am a little bit surprised I have not met or seen much of any fellow Coloradons on the tank.

i think its a neat idea but the yellow ruins it. slabs of yellow all over makes the color balance off.

Awesome. I completely disagree with Pyro about the yellow. It really captures the retro eco warriors feel.

Thank you for your well worded feedback! As for the airbrush, not yet. I am still rather new to doing customs so I am trying to get my technique solid for base coats and masking. But hopefully It will be in my near future!

Wow, that makes it even more impressive. I can never paint large flat surfaces like that without some brushstrokes showing.
I don't think I have the patience for the multiple layers needed.
