Well ... here is a somewhat obscure character from the Marvel comics run, and after revealed in the GI-Joe: Declassified mini-series in the DDP run of the comics.

If you are a fan of the these comics you already know of whom I am talking ... if not:
Shooter appears in the 6th page of GI-Joe nš1 (from Marvel) in a computer screen together with the other 13-Original Joes, or else her name appears since her face is covered by a providential hand. At this point we don't even know if the character is a she or a he as there are no more mention after that in the story (also I believe the name is a "inside joke" with Editor in Chief for Marvel in those days Mr. Jim Shooter... I don't know if this is largely know or even confirmed somewhere and I am late for the party, it just occurred to me....).
During the Devils Due run of the comics, Larry Hama returns to the early days of the joes and tell us more about Shooter. She is a cover up member for the GI-Joe team but her existence is classified even for the others joes, Gen Flagg and Sparks being her contact inside the team. I won't tell more about the comics since somebody might want to read the whole series. But she is fierce and a exceptional sniper.
Here she is ... the 14th original member of the joe team

If you can believe me while I was doing this custom I remembered that Mark Wahlberg movie where he plays a sniper, and paint his riffle to be camouflaged, so I did it with Shooter's riffle ... as it happens the name of the movie is Shooter (hehehe I realized this just now because living in Brazil the name I remember the movie for is "O Atirador")

Awesome work! Awesome character!

Anyone who has not read this Hama story (Declassified) is in for a treat. One of the best Joe stories ever, and, in general, one of the best comic story arcs I've ever read.

See even back in 1982 Hasbro knew female action figures didn't sell well.

Good job man.

Wish I'd seen this yesterday.

On my JoeCon feedback form, I listed figures I'd like to see in next year's set. My idea is the "Hama-verse" figures from the old Marvel run (Dr. Venom, Scarface (Cobra Trooper), Kwinn (one day), Magda and the clowns, Dr. Adele Burkhart, Gen Austin and Gen Flagg, etc.).

Shooter belongs in this set too.

Great job! I like the parts selection, especially in making the legs. Would love to see this character brought to life for the rest of us by the Club in their 2nd Series...

So not to hijack, but that is a great idea. I've been thinking of ways the set could go and that is a cool idea.

Email the club with your request. It seems they really pay attention to feedback.

Don't forget Shooter, as this figure is awesome!

Thanks for the info. I never read the Devil's Due line but always had that visual of "shooter" from that computer screen in the Marvel comic in my head. Always wondered about that.

And people, can't we just request Hasbro and not the frakkin Club?

Nice bash on the head especially. Excellent use of the Rex Lewis hair for her. Also like the work on the rifle as well. She's been on my to do list since I first read the comic.

Thank you Eternal, and I agree is one of the best joe storys told so far!

Great figure and provided info!
Tks man. Background storys are a real fun part of collecting Joes and customizing them ... somenthing I think has been lost or overlooked in the joe toy lines recently.

That's great, I'd buy one
I love this compliment!

Cool custom! Maybe it's just me, but I've been picturing Shooter like this since I was a kid and found out it was a poke at then Editor in Chief Jim Shooter.

He's an extremely tall grim faced dude.

Another head that looks really nice repainted as African American is the Renagedes Scarlett someone on ebay repainted the whole figure as Carla "Doc" Green (female niece of Doc created few years ago by the Club) and it was really nice.

Tks guys glad you liked the custom and that it brought Shooter to your minds and wish lists ... But really the club is dead for me... it would bring no joy for me ... I just feel really bad giving money for them, too many bad experiences lately... yet every piece of plastic they release will climb fantastic prices ... no matter if many of the figures have parts totally out of proportion, or that doesn't even makes any sense or that are just plain mehhh.. sorry for taking out of my chest, and again tks for commenting.

Wish I had one more to sell. Thanks and yes, please Hasbro, offer the license owned for Fun Publications for a more capable, that don't hides behind the name of "fan club" and is also more humble.

Tks ser, always nice to receive a good feedback from a master!
