Is this a Good Deal on a Whale/Moray/Platform??

Found a local individual who has a Killer Whale, a Cobra Moray and a Tactical Platform for sale, they state that they are all in good played with condition and they believe all if not most of the pieces are in the original boxes. They are asking $25 a piece which screams to me being a great deal if most of the pieces are there but what do I need to look for on these three pieces to make sure this is a good deal?

It honestly depends on what they're missing. Could be good deals but if they're missing the wrong parts you could be in over your head when it's all said and done.

I'd visit the links below and look at the easily lost/broken pieces that are listed with each vehicle. At $25 each, that's a steal IF IF IF they have the difficult to find pieces included with them.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that the boxes, depending on their condition, can add quite a bit of value to what you have. I personally don't collect them, but I do have a few that I'm really happy to have in my collection, mainly just because the artwork is really cool and brings back a lot of memories. The vehicle artwork is something that even the 25th line didn't give us in an old school style.

On the Whale - there are so many pieces that are easily lost and broken. But look for the following: ALL of the vanes on back, both vertical and horizontal; the small boxes that fit over the guns, the arms that attach the missile racks to the body (those things break VERY easily), the missiles, the depth charges, the little scooter (particularly the handle bars), the sled, the front ramp, the bottom wheels, the glass around the command section. Otherwise, just take a good picture of it with you to check it over.

The Moray: the rear guns that fit on the back; searchlight glass; steering wheel; depth charges; ALL the missiles and torpedoes; windshields; engine parts; hydrofoil.

TTBP: The most commonly lost part are the small action figure guns that go on the gun rack. They are also the easiest to replace with any guy ... unless you want the original parts. The ladders and supports are what you really need to make this toy work. The windshield is often lost/broken/bent. Make sure it has the searchlight, missile launcher, crane, and the smaller parts.

For $25, its a steal for a pretty complete WHALE as a few missing parts doesn't deter from that toy. I got a TTBP for $25 a while back complete but the price has increased since 2009. The Moray is not bad $25 - just depends on its level of completeness.

When it comes to toy collectables, don't be too hesitant at a good price coming at you until you at least get some pics. I got a major score several weeks ago on a crap ton of MOC figures. I seriously got some 1980s MOC figures for $2 a pop. Some people are just willing to sell stuff at crazy prices. So you could very well get some nice stuff for $25 a piece. But just make sure you see these items in person or get pics before anything.

Well I ended up driving the 30 miles and pick the three up, I am just starting to go through them but it appears most of the WHALE parts are there. All three boxes are absolutely beautiful, best of all I picked them all up for $55. Also as an added bonus I stopped t the dollar general in this little town and scored a Shipwreck, Snake Eyes & Storm Shawdow as well!

Got the WHALE put together & it is all there except Cutter, already scoping out a couple on the Bay!! Onto the Moray!

So I went with the Battle Platform next instead of the Moray and it is 95% complete only missing the weapons rack and the weapons.

Moray is put together & although its not complete it does have the hard to find lens on the spot light! All that seems to be missing is one depth charge and one of the rear guns. I will hopefully get picks up soon for all to enjoy!

Pics added pretty sure the Platform will be for sale and possibly the Moray but the WHALE will be going up on display! Also ended up with a near complete Polar Battle Bear and a complete Cobra Hydro-Sled as well!

Man, I wouldn't mind having that platform and box. I had that as a kid and loved it! The box even brings back so many memories!
