Are there any non-Caucasian females in the joe universe? I guess Jinx is Asian? Where's the black chick??

In DDP, there was Destro's son's girlfriend (forget her name).

No figures though... I'd love it if they made one!

That's right! Carla... And didn't they make a figure of her as a convention exclusive, or something? Of course she didn't have her own identity... she was also 'Doc'

I'd take 25TH/me Carla any day.

They made Lady Jaye hispanic in GI Joe Renegades which was fine with me.

So there's no modern figures? Looks like my Mohawk storm is becomming a prime candidate for the Joe program..or cobra lol well actually she looks like a dreadnok.

Any black female 3.75 fig in any line besides storm?!

There has been only 4 women of color in the Joeverse that I can think of : Armada, Dela Eden, Carla Greer & Shooter. Only Carla has had a figure made. There are none in the 3 3/4 or 4 inch lines other than Storm. To rectify this oversight, I made customs of all the above other than Armada along with some other characters for my Joeverse.

To this I'd add Jinx, Firewall (DDP & IDW), and IDW Ronin. Strato Viper Raven from the Sunbow cartoon. From there you could start adding more obscure characters like Storm Shadow's apprentice Junko Akita.

Pretty sure Armada had a figure sculpted up in the Hasbro vault when the Con got to tour it a few years back (can't remember is she was New Sculpt O-ring or ME). I'd love to see her figure and the POCish Zarana that was up there.

I never read either of the Master and Apprentice minis. Was SE's apprentice in the first one a minority? I think her name was Ophelia or something like that.

Savene is black in the IDWverse, She even has the white mohawk like Storm. There was also concept art for a black female back in the late 80's that had the same mold as Lady Jaye.

Never knew there was an Armada concept on the boards. Did you actually get to see the POC Zarana? Always wondered what that fig looked like and how it differed from the SDCC version we eventually got. I know no pictures were allowed when POC Zarana was shown.

Ophelia was SE's red-haired apprentice in M&A #1 but was not a woman of color...

I'm glad someone asked. If they deleted threads like this immediately, then those who would like to see more diversity (in an arguably pretty diverse toyline) might never get a figure/character that they can relate to, or would like to have in their Joe universe.

Bring on all the Multi-Culti chicks!

Unfortunately, there will ALWAYS be those people. They shouldn't be allowed to stifle intelligent, open conversation. Hence, the mods.

Shooter, the 14th original Joe member, according to GIJoe Declassified is a female, black American. She's a sniper so I'd say she's one tough chick and would love to add her to my Original Joe collection, my only missing piece.

I disagree. this is the perfect forum for these kind of questions. it was informative cause i totally forgot that doc daughter figure.

As long as its nothing stupid or vulgar like who do you think gives better head? lady jaye or scarlet being posted. these questions have a place in joe knowledge.

And now I'm researching Shooter...because of this thread...the interesting point is that we don't get many female figures and there aren't that many prominent female characters, yet here we are...
My daughter (14) loves my Joe collection. Cover Girl and Helix are her favorites. Her mom (my first wife is white). I have made it a priority to teach her about diversity. She adores her stepmom (new wife) and she is black. Joes are diverse, but the ratio is extremely disproportionate. Until we get more figures of other females of other ethnic backgrounds I'll keep researching the characters we've had and have customs made of them.

As some mentioned Savane from IDW looks pretty much like the Storm figure except with a trench coat instead of a sleeve less short coat. I'm trying to find a Storm to mod into Savane.

Doc's daughter is of the same ethnicity as he is/was.

She is the first character that I thought of when I read this thread.
The Joes need more ladys.

Cobra too.
They'd put the Bra in CoBra.

I think a Shooter figure is semi-likely to show up as a Club exclusive someday. Maybe a modern Carla Greer, too.

Heck, unlike an unproduced figure like Rocky, the Club could actually make "Unnamed Black Female" as a figure if they wanted to (and Hasbro let them). I think that'd be a kinda cool nod to one of the better-known unproduced figures of the ARAH line.

I think just more female figures in general are needed. I think it would be awesome to have some ME cobra trooper females. Then have variants with red, blonde hair, or white and black race, it doesnt matter.

Also idk if anyone mentioned Icebergs wife, but she was in a few sunbow episodes. Also the sunbow episode where Iceberg turns into a killer whale, lol, has that black chick in it with the Jamaican accent. That might actually become Icebergs girl or wife later but i am not sure. I do know she had a sick body in that Iceberg killer whale episode, very hot for a cartoon black chick.

The Carla Greer Doc figure is definitely a highlight of the Tanks for the Memories convention set. I'm one of those guys who keep their ARAH and 25th figures separate, but until we get an ME Carla Greer I still use the original figure with my other favorites. (Same thing with Sparks from the same set.)

anybody got pics of savane or shooter?

i've heard here on the tank hasbro claims chick figs don't sell. don't know if that's joe specific or action figs in general. when i still bought star wars i grabbed all the girls i could to fill out displays and stuff. marvel universe seems to do o.k. with the ladies. maybe joe should try to put out some female action figures that aren't just fugly. didn't see roc helix hanging around for clearance with the baroness. zarana seems to hold her own pretty well too.
but yeah more females more variety gets my vote 100%.

I'm quite surprised at the lack of variety in terms of color/race, not just with females but in general. The 12inch line almost always had at least two variants on a figure, why hasn't the 3inch line seen this? I understand it's easier to mass produce in a single color, but a tiny bit of diversity would be nice.

On the subject of a Shooter figure, I would absolutely love if one was made, Hasbro or the Club could easily reuse POC Low Light's accessories for the figure.

I've been tellin them for years we need more girls!

We need some latino girls like from the Lowrider magazine covers, we need some Inuit girls, some Hawaiian girls that can do that thing with the grass skirt dance, we need some Japanese anime tentacle monster girls, some half robot half space babe girls, straight up alien girls, one of em Dungeons and Dragons sexy knight outfit chicks and like an Elf.......ooh, Dark Elf girls!

What was the original topic of this thread again?
