Did anyone get a photo of the fantastic kid dressed as Sgt. Slaughter? He was so awesome! On Sunday I was dressed as the Baroness. When I saw him coming I called out to him and pointed my gun. He did a duck and roll (!!!) and then started chasing me down the aisle. What a great kid! I hope he had a blast and comes back again next year!

I think I'll start working on a Mainframe costume for next year's con right now and see if next year's Zarana wants to reenact the Computer Complications episode. If not, Zanya would be a perfectly acceptable substitute. Mainframe's a flexible kind of guy.

That was saturday afternoon. I also did alley viper that morning and for the contest/casino night. I had to get out of that helmet and those leather gloves. LOL

And no, I only spent one day dressed up. I wanted to get a picture with the other firefly, but he disappeared on me.

The best thing that happened to me in costume was when I was getting my AV gear out of the trunk for casino night, and I was deciding which pistolian to take in. I racked the slide on the 1911 right when some dude and his gf went by and his eyes got as big as saucers. I didn't wear the tac vest on the street because I didn't want to freak any douchebags out, and I kept the weapons in a shopping bag until just outside the con. I still got stopped by cops twice and had my MP5/UMP whatever checked once.

I had two people interrupt my black jack game to take a picture. I'm like hit me up when you see me all geared up. I was busy turning my $200 into $1200 which I gave to a little girl at the next table, after I noticed people sneaking up on me to take pictures. LOL.

Anyway, I figured out people are more enthused to take a picture if they get to hold a gun. Especially little kids.

They are not oakleys, they are safety glasses, closest I could find to the ones that came with the comic pack 25th figure.

Thank you for that Azzurro. I agree. Most of the costumes I had seen were pretty spiffy!

Awesome stuff, one of my favorite parts of any convention are the costumes. I like to do the costumes myself, and it is what really makes a convention worth it. C`mon you're going to be a fan.. young or older, new or vintage.. if You're walking around and you see Duke, or Shipwreck, Snake Eyes or Cobra Commander and you really liked that character.. You'd look at it in a different light. Now if you looked and saw something Not quite right. sure. we all do that. NOTHING can be that perfect. But would you be complelled to take a photo of that character, or with him/ her? The answer is yes, you would.. Why? Cause you're a fan just like the person behind the mask. That is why we do what we do.

and yet I do not see your costume nor the cash you spent to make it.

I'm so glad I did cause that to me was the icing on the cake for the costume. It was fun to build, and even more fun to use. Your Short Fuse was just beautiful. I'm glad you won one of the three places! You beat me out of it brother, and I'm proud of you. Proud of all of you who joined in. That's what it was all about. the Fun factor. For a lot of folks costuming is a hobby, something we do on the side for fun. We don't always have the time or financial resources to have a "perfect" costume. So some if us might not live up to everyone else's standards. But you know what? That's not the most important thing. For me I like to dress up and meet people I might not have had a chance to meet otherwise. Everyone has their own reason for costuming and it isn't always to please everyone else. Sorry you didn't dig our costumes, but I thought everyone looked great!

And Shippy, your costumes were fabulous as usual!

Sorry guys, just not feeling a lot of the costumes on the first couple of pages. :/ Honestly, I'm a perfectionist with costumes, so ignore my opinion if you don't like it. Thats what I do with Sigma haters.

On the other hand, Just saw those costumes on the sixth page. Those I really like!

I do however have the utmost respect for all of you, considering how much this really cost. You got more dedication than I'll ever have!

Agree. This was my first time making a costume (I was Slice), and it was definitely a good feeling when I could tell someone appreciated the costume...which made it all worth it. Even more rewarding was when kids appreciated it! It just so happened that a JoeCon family was staying in the room next to me and my friend who went with me (Dice). On Saturday afternoon we went up to get changed and when he saw us walking down the hallway as Slice & Dice, he flipped out! Then he started asking us questions about the characters and you could just tell that he was really into it. It made me imagine myself at his age (10?), because if I had seen someone dressed up as GI Joes/Cobras back then, I would have definitely lost my mind.

hehe yea mary he did say that at the costume contest on sat night.

He doesn't need to make a costume to have an opinion on the costumes. But if he's not impressed with a life size SNAKE armor, I really don't give a damn about his opinion anyway.

hahaha Excellence.

The one big dude at the door, Stopped to check Snake's M203, He was nervous when he asked to see it too. the guy he asked.. didn't talk.. I simply just presented arms, cocked the charging handle to open the breech, let him look in, and saw my Hop-up Gear box. I then opened the tube, and dropped a 40mm round in his hand. He looked at it with wide eyes. ''no chance of people arguing in here huh?'' Snake Eyes Shook his head ''nope'' . A kid came up wanting a picture, so I gave the officer my weapon to farther inspect. I dropped down to the kid to get a quick photo. When I stood up to look at the cop.. he was litterally caressing "Sally" ."Sally" baring name to my rifle affectionately. I think I posted a photo here somewhere of Snake eyes and the blueshirt . I'd gotten a LOT of looks with that rifle.

My favorite moments are mostly with Will Ryan, Neil Ross, and Mark Bellomo. Will took a liking to me from the moment we'd said hello and were introduced to one another. I'd had the pleasure of taking him with us to the WWII Museum. He'd had a lot of fun there with us. Spent a majority of Friday Morning/ Afternoon with him. He'd mentioned liking the M1911. So Saturday I gave him a treat. Flint had given Mr. Ryan his 1911 for photos, while Snake Eyes leant him the big gun. Mark was delighted to get a photo with his own Favorite.. Flint. It was a great experiance. And it was awesome to hang out with you all again.

Of course you're allowed to have an opinion. Everyone has one. Personally, I just think it's better to have a positive thread, especially when the folks that made those costumes are hanging about. You don't have to like everyone's costume, but maybe just comment on the ones you did like is best? But at least you weren't rude about expressing your thoughts like some have been and that's appreciated, truly!

That said, I think we all need to have a thicker skin about negative comments. For every one bad comment or person that didn't like a costume there's going to be a ton more that totally dig it!

A note about opinions, and possible reactions.. While it's perfectly fine to have your own opinion.. as it has been stated before... Yes you may have your own opinion. But remember while you are delivering that opinion.. had you thought it completely through? Do you know where to find the ''correct'' items to help him or her out with their costume? Body types are far, few, and inbetween in the real world. Remind yourself, not every gal can be that supermodel in a costume, Not every guy has the muscular state that an athlete, has. Always judge the costume, not the person. if the person in the costume can Act the part, sure judge the whole rendition . Then form your opinion based on that as a whole. again.. be mindful of what words can be transposed to online.

Here is a bit about me, and my personal experiance at my first Full Joecon(Even though I was there in Orlando,FL in 2011.)
Though I will openly say I have 30 years of martial arts experiance in 6 different styles.. I had been a cobra black ninja viper(at one time before the sideshow or so was invented), Storm Shadow, and Snake Eyes in the past.. I've done some posing for photos...

I've never been one to draw a lot of attention to myself durring contest events. BUT... this year I stepped out of that box a little bit.

If anyone that was at the dinner night, some of you may have captured our favorite white assassin at the front of the stage alone actually working out with one of his swords. I'd love to see the video of it . I'd gotten lost in the moment. Rather my eyes had been closed durring the Hyungs I'd combined. It was only toward the end of the last one, did I realize someone had been video taping it.
If you're on the tank, and you were the one who had taken the video. Please youtube it, share it with the rest of us. I did not intend for it to end up that way. I'd just gotten majorly bored with the waiting to be eliminated.

To those of you who DID vote for Storm Shadow. I thank you for giving me the chance to step out into the second round.

This overall has been a wonderful experiance.(cept for the jerk who not only tried to trip me, but also kick me on the way out of the ballroom after the convention. I still think you're a childish worm. but it's my opinion.)

I'm aware. You guys were around, and I had stopped by several times to chat(where I could) The blog that Rose had created is true to every word. She really did have breakfast at light speed with us , then vanished. I think one of my most cherrished moments will be hanging out, and getting a tour of the town with her, while Will rather narrorated about being in NOLA, and sharing his stories with us of other places he'd visited. We'd had a great time with both Neil and Will. Will was pretty funny though. He'd mentioned to me about liking the colt 45. I gave him my sidearm for a photo when I was playing Flint. His eyes went wide with enthusiasm. spelling probally stinks heh. just for giggles, I'd randomly snarled and he broke out with Mutt's reaction and voice tone. " Easy Junk" that was just classic. Kept trying to pass bits of his lunch in my direction at the resturant too. heheh. As I said.. a blast of a time!

All the costumes are great !! I love the Zap and Short Fuze costums. They are simple and effective. When I first saw them online I thought they were awesome and funny. Most everyone goes for the more complex stuff but those two were cool!!

I dig SHipwrecks FLint costume. I would have the ganas to walk around a major metropolitan area with a weapon like that, lol. those commercials about the guy playing racketball and then getting an eyepatch and getting jumped by thugs comes to mind lol.

I really dig all of the costumes featured here. One of my favorite Con aspects is the cosplay. My favorites of the bunch have to be Slice and Dice, NF Zartan and Daina. Psyche-Out is great too; the more obscure the character the more I dig it!
