Best modern era Cobra Commander?

As we've gotten better and better sculpts since the 25th has begun, I realized there is still one big hole in my collection. A great Cobra Commander.

I just moved and have a smaller display shelf than I used to have. So I am limited to having the "best of the best" on display. Choosing the definitive Snake Eyes is easy, and my modern shelf is dominated by the POC offerings we got (Dusty, Beach Head, etc). I realized, though, that we don't have a new update to Cobra Commander.

In the end, I put up two Cobra Commanders: the first is the POC "movie" Cobra Commander (v44) with the chrome head, red vest, and jacket. Though he's not really "Cobra Commander" in my eyes, this is an awesome figure. The head sculpt is amazing and the metallic paint is a great touch.

For my 2nd Cobra Commander, and my "default" one for now, I chose the Renegades version. A different look for CC, but he's sleek and imposing, and such a better sculpt than any of the other CC we have gotten.

One of the con pictures showed a zombie CC that appeared to have a better, bulkier build. Will we eventually get this guy as a normal CC? There are several Ultimate versions of characters coming up but no Ultimate CC. What do you guys think? Who is your definitive Cobra Commander, and what do you guys hope for from Hasbro in the future?

the one from the ultimate battle pack is my favorite with the mask, and 25th comic pack with breaker is my favorite hooded.

That 30th Concept Vault CC looks like it would undoubtedly be a definitive Ultimate Commander, to my eyes. It looks like what they always wanted to do with a CC figure since the ME line(s) began in 2007, and now they have finally achieved their vision. Of all the Concept figures, this is my #1 want. Well, a non-zombie version of him, that is.

Man...that Zombie Cobra Commander sure looks fantastic. I'm all for having a few all new re-dos of early 25th efforts since the sculpting has gotten so good with all of the experience they've had with the modern style since then. Heck, put me down for a hooded repaint of that body too!

Meanwhile, I agree with most that the "Best of 80s" CC is the best since the head is so perfectly done and the 25th body it uses does hit all of the key details really well even if it is a bit scrawny. Both colors of Resolute CC are solid.

I think the 2nd POC Commander is worthwhile, particularly for those who don't have most of the 25th era versions of that character. The figure itself is decent, but he includes several accessories that previously required owning up to 4 billion redundant versions of the character! So even if you hate the actual POC figure, you've still essentially got a personalized set of gear for whichever CC is your favorite. Plus a couple of compound Z items that you can keep exposing to your favorite CC while desperately hoping he transforms into that kick-ass cancelled version.

Hell yeah, maybe a darker blue hooded version in a pack and a lighter blue helmeted version single carded, or vice versa.

I know that many people who have collected since the start of the 25th may look at a classic-style 30th Flint or Firefly or Cobra Commander or Beachhead and say, "been there, done that, do we really need another," and I certainly understand that, but being that I missed out on most 25th (and thankfully most of the early 25th), there is nothing I have been wanting more than some 30th Ultimate updates to many of those "close but no cigar" 25th figures.

Now they have the skill, experience and wherewithal to finally achieve what I'm sure they've intended all along with those characters.

To this, I replaced his boots with a Viper's lower legs, and gave him the SDCC suited versions hooded head, modified to fit.

The DG CC is actually pretty good, but I wish it had a huge Cobra symbol on his chest. I hate when they leave it out.

The resolute one from the multipack is a fave of mine and is one of the only figures that I haven't customized.The CC with the CG body is also up there too,Im currently making a custom in him using that body.

Resolute Cobra Commander...I loved the cartoon and how ruthless the Commander was portrayed on it, plus he comes with a sword (or sabre?)

My favorite CC is the DG version with a few quick silver touch-ups on the vest buttons/details. Perfect update to the Battlecorps CC (Which was my favorite o-ring CC)

I like the POC City Strike Cobra Commander and the black variant Retaliation Cobra Commander. I think they compliment each other pretty well.

I wouldn't mind getting a look at the Dollar General Cobra Commander. He looks good from the pictures I've seen of him.

I really hope they put out an Ultimate CC using that Zombie CC they showed in the canceled figures at Joecon. I don't care if it's light blue or dark blue (just not black). But it needs to have the battle helmet AND the hooded heads. The Cobra staff or sceptre, maybe a money bag like Destro had, some kind of pistol, a dagger or two and something new, maybe some cardboard targets that look like Joes.

CC, Roadblock, Scarlett (except for the head). For all three, the Resolute versions are the best modern adaptations of the characters we've gotten yet. Flint, Destro and the Baroness are solid figures to, with some great potential after minor tweaking.

Also, saw a custom where somebody put a CC head on a Resolute Destro body... Very cool modern CC.

Single card Resolute CC hands down, while his legs are a little thin they fit his look perfectly.

Renegades CC with the full mask is also pretty damn cool, the skirt just kills it though.

I don't have any "Classic" styled CC, either he looks too thin or I don't like how the hood is sculpted (looks like he's turning his head).

I'd love that zombie CC body with a hooded head not in motion. That would be the ULTIMATE Cobra Commander IMO.

Yeah, I actually cut the skirt off mine, but the legs ain't so good neither. With no skirt and better legs, it would be much improved.

I had planned to use the Best of 80s chrome head on the Tripwire 2-pack or Resolute body, but I like him in the white CLAW harness.

I will also display the Starscream version with Megatron (once I open it).

The Resolute and Retaliation ones are probably my favorites. I just wish the Retaliation one had full articulation. I also love the white Rex figure. I just don't see him as CC though.

I have my army of blue shirts displayed with COBRA COMMANDER (v37) and COBRA COMMANDER (FRED VII) (v38) with my Crimson Guards. I definitely would love to see Hasbro release the "Vault" Zombie Commander with a 'Chrome' mask and a Hooded one as a variant. Which should be a no brainer for Hasbro. They love their Cobra Commanders.

I thought it was just me. Seriously, the concept case commander with a chrome faceplate would be my go-to CC if Hasbro had the common sense to produce him. Yes I said "Hasbro" and "common sense" in the same sentence...
