"Evil Man Pretending to be President" is not too exciting for backyard battles, so let's adapt a recent design to the movie style sculpts. Kids are more likely to be familiar with it and it's a clever way to slip out a Renegades-ish Zartan.

Its cool and all he has contacts and gets some figures other people dont but he should not wear that on his shoulder like a big shot so needless and come off as nasty and pompous - having humility is a good thing.

The Retaliation figure is heavily modeled on the Renegades design, right down to the forearms, gloves, design on the abdominal clothing, and boots as well- only difference is that they did not paint 80% of his body a light blue or make it outve a transparent light blue color plastic as the toon had odd colors.

But to deny it is quite ridiculous.

By the way, Renegades Duke, the Cobra Trooper and the other Renegades that came first had nothing to do with Renegades style, yet they followed the designs but not the blocky style.

Basically, they might probably had the figure done. Since the first wave of Retaliation was made before the movie designs, they just threw the Zartan there to fill up.
So, technically was never a cancelled figure.

You are missing his point. If a 'renegades' zartan was released it would have had a more cartoonish look to it than the retaliation figure. Yes the retaliation figure uses similar design elements in the costume and webgear, but the face and body shape would have been much different and perhaps a bit less detailed as the other renegade figs were.

Well there is no point being missed on my part as I'm simply going by the obvious cartoon and figure reference and compatibility and not nitpicking over semantics or what a Hasbro fella said that is contrary to what I see in front of me. The "mildly" phrase is erroneous obviously.

And if one wants accurate Renegades designs/figures then the POC/30th line was not it either you know for that you'd need the amazon exclusive 3 pack really. But Zartan Retaliations design is overall in sync with the Renegades released line as is the figure's proportions despite details in the different paint applications which doesnt match the cartoon's depiction accurately 100%- the Retaliation version's paint jobs was more subdued rather than cartoonish.
