I have been waiting for this RB.....passed on the wave 1 version. I have enough SE & SS figures. I want all the main movie characters, so I'm grabbing Flint & Firefly too.

For wave 3, I'm gonna get Joe Colton (awesome), Lady jaye, and a Black Dragon Ninja or two.

Wave 4, Jinx & Blind master.

Wave 5 as many Night Vipers as I can find (3 or 4 for sure).

...ditto on that "Meh"...If they weren't $10 and if they came with stands, I might be interested in Flint, but I'm probably gonna pass on these as a whole...honestly the only movie figures I cared about were the Ninja 3 Packs and Blind Master, but seeing as my local stores don't restock their GI Joes, I probably won't get any of those either...still a little pissed that Red Jinx is a GD exclusive...

I am shocked, but mostly I am disappointed in the Resolute figures. Like or hate Rise of Cobra, there was some neat advancements in design, accessories for GI JOE. Even the ROC display stands/dog tags were cool.

The Resolute figures feel like a step back. Gone are the cool display stands. The paint schemes are weak, and some of the sculpts are just...boring. (For the standards set by GI JOE since the 25th, anyway. They are still better than many other action figures out there, but the Retaliation figures are not up to par with current GI JOE standards). I know, allegedly kids only want figures with the silly oversized rocket firing weapons (In my experience, this is definitely NOT true). But if Hasbro just gave us better paint jobs and display stands and got rid of the silly gimmicks entirely...this would be a far better line.

Comparing the 30th figures to the Retaliation figures you can really see what I am talking about.

Again, I want to like these Retaliation figures...but I just don't.

I may pick up a few, but overall, not impressed.

If the body was bigger and he had better leg articulation I would consider it, but as is, the head is way too big, and the lack of leg articulation is disappointing. Not a fan of that sled thing he comes with either. I do dig the tampo markings and the translucent forearms though.

Aside from that, the 3 pack Firefly destroys this.

That Firefly is an abomination.
The lack of good accesories, the ridiculous color scheme, the bad proportions and damn, he doesn't looks like anything close to FF... this figure is almost a shame.

The only thing that makes it slightly valuable is the head...and that's arguably too, since all movie characters heads are absolutely out of proportions.
Roadrock is safe, because the sheer size of the body, but at all the other movie characters. You can see that even Colton's head is huge. Customizers will be dissapointed cos it wouldn't be easy to make other figs with it. The rest of teh body is PoC Recondo, which is enourmous, with Jungle Duke legs, that are big too.
Lady Jaye is pasable, they should thanks whoever did that Renegades body!

Aside from that, the 3 pack Firefly destroys this.

That FF destroys pretty much everything we've seen so far LoL

The reason why any of these figures priced over $6.97? baffles the hell out of me. Each figure comes with much less than an average PoC figure and most likely has reduced articulation. Not worth a nine moth wait if this is what Hasbro has in store for us.

That's what they do...you almost always get the big 4 (Duke, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and CC), only now they've swapped Duke for Roadblock...and sure enough, the stores will probably still have the big 4 on their peghooks, while all the troop builders will be the first items sold...2 Snake Eyes, 2 Roadblocks, 2 Storm Shadows and 1 GD joe trooper per case is RETARDED...the case should have been 1 of every named character and 4 Joe Troopers...they should just name this movie to GI Joe: Retardation, looking at these movie toys makes me think this movie is going to make ROC look like solid platinum (rather than the slightly tarnished silver it is)...

I too am bothered by all of these facts...Roadblock is a jive talkin' chef not a ninja, how do you sneak up on someone when you're a 7' tall dude smelling like good food and rhymin', and Firefly is the Faceless Master so it kinda defeats that title if he's just running around without a mask and without a blurry face...

I did hear that they are reshooting some scenes; one is just Snake Eyes and Tatum doing a song and dance number as an homage to Tatum's Step Up movie...apparently Snake is a soprano on the old cancer kazoo...it's how they initiate Roadblock into the clan since he doesn't have a couple of decades to gain the mental discipline and training required to be a real ninja...to the clan he's like the Orko of ninjas, they just keep him around to laugh at the big dumb american trying to kick above his head when he can barely reach around to wipe his own ass because of all the bulky unnecessary muscle...I'd love to see the Rock attempt the Ninja Warrior obstacle course, as I seriously doubt someone that large could even make it past the preliminary course...

As long as Firefly doesn't pull the Scorpion Pose (Marvel #134)with the rest of the Red Ninjas. To me the real "Jump the Shark" moment of the original Marvel run. This whole line just looks terrible to me. The packaging is AWFUL, and out of the packaging, the heads are too big. Firefly is my favorite Joe/Cobra character of all time, and I'm still going to pass on all of these.

Oh and I'm 6'8 people walk into my chest all the time by mistake or almost run me over with buggies in my white meat coat at Wal-Mart while I stock.

Holsters are usually removeable, otherwise the two pieces of the leg wouldn't be possible to pull out of the mold.

NO, please, I think if Hasbro is going to release another new 50 versions of Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes in the next 12 months, please add new color schema! I think this time ofr Retaliation I'll not buy again these 2 characters -I already got the last 25 versions released in the last 10 years- Hasbro, please do the evolution!

Not speaking your mind on a public forum kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it? ...I say what I want about the topic at hand, as I assume the purpose of presenting the topic is to encourage discussion, be it positive or negative in regard to the topic is the basis for some of this discussion...so if ya hate it, then hate it...it beats the hell out of pandering to hasbro's poor decision making which results in 5 point articulation on vehicle drivers, or single hinged knees, or abysmal paint apps...You can still like GI Joe and hate what they are doing with the figures without being a hypocrite...

I've been saying it's time to retire the 4 core figures of each wave for a while now...(ie: Duke, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander and sometimes Destro)...I have more of them than I have themed areas to display them and this is even after skipping a few various versions and leaving some in the package...they should seriously focus on some of the other characters that they have been neglecting (convention exclusives don't count) and give those 4 (sometimes 5) a break...Hasbro has been doing the same thing with their Marvel figures too, practically every wave has a Wolverine, Spider Man, and Iron Man (even though two of those characters have their own figure lines)...it's akin to eating sandwiches every day but you can only use boring-ass white bread, Peanut Butter, and one of three types of Jelly...next time around I'll have a Hot Pastrami on Rye Bread with lots of black pepper, spicy mustard and Provolone please Hasbro...
