1) The sigs were out of control.
2) Luckily I found out you could turn them off, so I like it better now.
3) I used to lurk every now and then just to see what Joe was up to, but I didn't collect any of the new sculpt figures, so I wasn't active in the community. I'm pretty sure I finally created an account so that I could see the high res images of the 25th Anniversary box sets.
4) I like having a place to talk about GI Joes. Hiss tank is like the perfect at-work website since you can pop in, see if anything has shown up, and be done with it and back to work in like five minutes.

3) googled GI Joe, and got sent here

1. what were your first impressions of hisstank?
at the time i was just buying joe stuff to put away for my son, a lot of stuff. i was like, wow, a whole site of gi joe shit!?! waitaminute... there are really dudes who still collect these things???
then i thought some people were over the top and couldnt be serious about the size of their collections and their purchasing habits. i thought for sure some of them had to be plants, like 21st century marketing kinda stuff.
then i decided i had to have my own modern era collection so i divided my son's stuff up into mine and his and hunted down what else he still needed.
now im one of those who probably has so much a newb wouldnt believe me if i told him. :P

1. i started lurking and got into a few threads that made me laugh (epic steven d) so i lurked for a while b4 joining.
2. no not really. theres a good mix. once in a while you come across a d-bag but theres a lot of good people here.
3. i was on another message board and there were several guys there that held the opinion that hisstank was nothing but d-bags, so i never checked it out. then toward the end of the 25th, my wife and i had a kid and bought a house, so joe collecting took a backseat. about 2 yrs ago, i started to get back into things and by then the old message board i went to was basically defunct, so i started looking for a new online home and this was by far the most active. so here i am.
4. the fact that if i just want a laugh and dont even eanna think about joes, i have a place for that or if i want joe news or discussion i have a place for that and its the same place...

When I first got here people were hyper ethical to the point of being annoying. Most people seemed to take things far too seriously. Except for Amberbratt, and I guess she sort of opened the door for someone like me to come in and loosen up the stiffs. Of course she got banned four years ago, but they haven't gotten rid of me yet.
