Well, got a Tomahawk in box (not sealed). The canopy is the only thing still sealed in the plastic. Stickers are dusty, which is a shame, and missles and such are on the sprues. One thing Ive noticed, is that some of the tabs for the engine covers are whitened as if stressed. Was wondering if anyone else has noticed this about their machines.
Secondly, I payed a fair bit of cash for this thing (250), do you think I would be crazy to assemble this.

What good is it in the box? Personally, almost 95% of my stuff, I open. If you already have another tomahawk though, then i sauy keep it in the box.

My two cents is: When the people who were kids growing up with these toys are much older/dead, pretty much all of our still in box and pristine toys aren't going to be worth jack. Enjoy it, put it together.

IDK. Seems like a lot of that stuff that only our dead relatives know about fetches a nice penny on American Pickers.

Great review! I agree with you, it would've been awesome if the landing gear were retractable.

I'd probably keep it MOC, sell at profit. But, open and build, it's up to you.

This should be the end all be all to the question should I leave my stuff in the box. I 100% agree with this. My 2 cents as well.
Well said sir.

That's great that you scored the Tomahawk man.
Regarding this part of your statement only you can answer this. The question should be, "Am I happier with this thing in the box?" or "Am I happier with this thing assembled jam packed full of my favorite JOES?".
You and only you sir, can answer that.

I highly doubt I would have the discipline to keep it in the box. I would open and enjoy. It would be like Christmas 1986 all over again.

Just dont put the blades in untill your sure!
As wierd as it sounds - when I got my Tomahawk last summer it was a huge dissapointment for me. Fortunatly I didnt have much invested- so I had it for like a month and re-sold it.
Anyway, removing the blades is very difficult and even under the best circumstances theres a good risk of breaking them - add to the fact that replacements are about $10 per...
Just be careful

I actually got a brand new unused one for $35 buck off ebay.. Sweet deal. Came complete and everything! Liftticket has his mic and MISB in package. Only thing I didn't get was a box which I could care less about..

If there is no pics it didn't happen. Lol. Also, what does your sweet find have to do with the question of whether he should put his together or keep it in the box?

The Tomahawk is one of the best vehicles in the whole line..definitely in my top 2. But like everyone else says its up to you whether or not you want to display it MIB or loose with box. if it isn't sealed or at least all the contents sealed in their original bags, I'd say build it. Its looks awesome full of Joes heading off to battle.

I would keep what is on the sprue on them and pick up an extra set to put it together. Then, you can display it in all it's glory AND keep the minty sprue items intact.

I agre with Crock Master and Uberhawk. I'd sell it or trade it for three loos complete ones. One would painted in Coast Guard colors, one would be painted in Night Force colors, and one would be painted in Tiger Force colors.
I dont think it dose any good in the box! If it isnt even sealed I would open it for sure!
