A new vehicle you'd like to see or design?

So, I know some of you guys are pretty creative, the things I see in the Customs forum sometimes blow my mind. But what about vehicles you would design if you were a Hasbro vehicle designer?

What things would you build, or combine ideas into one with?

I'd personally like to see a new or updated kind of amphibious assault/landing vehicle, a true troop transport, an artillery battery playset, a double barreled MBT (as the Mammoth tank from Command and Conquer).

It would also be neat to see existing vehicles given kit sets to modify them from their basic purpose, like a radar dish you could place on the Retaliation HISS instead of the turret it uses to give it a menacing Anti-Air appearance.

Armored skirting/doors for the VAMP they just came out with, and other kinds of attachable weapons/doodads for the hex-sockets they put in the newer vehicles, even snorkels or missile batteries.

Really want to put treads on the underbody of a Fangboat/Moccasin that could deploy for terrestrial landings.

Honestly, go back to what worked. For G.I. Joe, look at current military vehicles, prototypes, etc. and extrapolate a cool kids toy. Maybe an MRAP (hell, they were even IN the movie), LAV, NLOS, Osprey, etc. modified to Joe standards. There is so much in the real world to play with it's a shame when the toys aren't stepping up to the plate.

Cobra...now THAT was always edgier to science fiction, but the toys for Cobra have been great recently. The new HISS and Black Dragon are absolutely what Cobra should be. Just keep going with that theme.

I hear you man, it definitely looks like the chassis was meant to be an aircraft at first, then they stuck treads on it and called it a tank!

Also, I agree, the stuff that worked was very cool, although the crazier stuff was also a lot of fun as a kid. The Storm Eagle was one of my favorites as a kid, back before the F-22 was even flying they had an F-22 toy!

I'd love to see an MRAP, but I'd think that one of the off-branders would make that.

Like, I'd like to have that T-80 that was out recently. Gut it of the lights and sounds and make it an OG vehicle.

Experimental real-world inspired vehicles would be awesome too, like they used to make back in The Day.

I don't mean a small, single-seat affair like the Mantis (which I did like); more a large, 18" long play set with conning tower and sides that open to allow for lots of figures inside.

I'd like to see a plane with a plane with an OV-10 Bronco outline, maybe with jet engines instead of props. A nice space fighter like the F-302 or the Thunderbolt Starfury would be cool.

Something like the AMATOYA fire vehicle with miniguns instead of watercannons.

I agree with some of the other Tankers. Hasbro should go back to their roots and do their take on current military vehicles, and prototype vehicles. The Osprey, F-18, the stealth boat the navy has to melding some of those designs in to new designs. And hasbro has been doing well with Cobra Vehicles. I love the new Hiss, Dragon VTOL. And of course, not forgetting about mixing the vehicles released in the land, sea, and air!

+1 for SDF1, Veritech anything (fighter, Hover Tank, Logan, Ajax, Alpha or Beta)
any vehicle that can transform ala M.A.S.K. (or into a robot for that matter)
or a new BF2000 (BF3000?) where each vehicle has that extra piece for a base...but not lame like BF2000
or like someone mentioned upgrades to current vehicles
and more modular weapons like DTC vehicles

Personally, I think they need to rethink playsets. Do small independently sold sections that be linked together like the Micro Machine City. They can even create small sections that can be "base builders" like a gate, bunker, or tower.

Any large base just isn't going to get made any other way. At the same time, any base that requires multiple pieces to complete like BF2000 is going to create problems when we can't find pieces 3,4, and 5. At least if you keep the pieces as standalones, you won't run into as much of problem if person A can't find the telecom station.

It is: It's the F-302 seen frequently in SG-1 and Atlantis. I love the vehicle in those series, but don't think it would fit into the Joe universe, at all.

Submarines, either a nuclear-type sub playset or a working small craft e.g. a SEAL swimmer delivery vehicle (well the playset could also work, or at least float at the right waterline, that would be cool).

I would like to see a flying Joe troop transport something a bit like the Sigma 6 Dragonhawk. (This is a project I am gathering parts for,) Something that could function as a mobile base and general vehicle/troop transport work horse. As far as bashing ideas together I had the idea of combining the Killer Whale and Flagg ideas together to make a hoover craft/aircraft carrier. Again, a mobile base for smaller VToL craft to launch from. (Ghosthawks if it is Joe, Flight Pods if it was Cobra.)
Problem is is that the designs I'm putting together are kinda big. I figure both would be in the 3' range and I'm not sure where I would put them once I make them.

YES!!! this please! If they made this thing large enough to fit 20 figures underneath that turret, like the original APC, plus a figure in the turret, I'd want 3 of these at least; to make a small convoy. Plus, it would encourage me to buy more figures; since now I would have a place for them.

I always thought the Firebat might have been loosely based on the Ares.

Love the tandem Osprey idea. It would be an awesome Dragonfly Mk II.

I still want something with the capacity of the old APC and the looks of a Stryker.

New Adventure Team vehicle based on the Snowcat. Make it a 6 wheeled truck instead of a half track, remove the missile launcher, and use its mounting hole as a trailer hitch for a mobile command trailer along the lines of the MSV. Make it in yellow for the AT, green or gray for regular GI Joe.

Always a fun topic, and it seems this comes up fairly often. For Cobra:
1. The Troop Transport heli-copter that was in the comics. This type of vehicle is so need for modern Cobra forces.
2. Ground troop transport. Something like an A.P.C. for Cobra, only more heavily armed.
3. A Cobra mini-sub. Something about a foot long that could hold a dozen or so figures, with torpedo launchers, periscope, decent sized crew compartment, etc. Keep it realistic, but at a size where it could be affordable( $40 range ).
4. Modern Stinger Jeep, Hello Hasbro you have the Vamp mold, now ad a few attachments, get the thing done in black and grey, and give us the obvious easy vehicle to do. This would require so little new tooling, and would be amazing! I would buy 4!
Joes:
1. Modern style Tomahawk, done in OD Green color pattern, modern realistic side guns( .50 cal minis ). We really need this vehicle.
2. Mauler II, base it off of the Abrams. Needs to be a bit larger than the original, like the size of the Patriot Grizzly. You could release it in Desert camo, and Jungle camo.
3. Joe Submarine, use the same mold as the Cobra sub, just redesign a few things. And give us a new Cutter as the Captain.
4. Patrol River Boat, something large enough to carry a 6 man squad with realistic features. The Piranha from a few back was cool, but the 3 side guns are kind of horrid.

Multi-pedal, armored, weapon systems of all shapes and sizes. I want toys that look like a Masamune Shirow-Hideo Kojima turf war.

the collector (and scalper) market is big enough for a larger vehicle to turn a profit .
just look at how Star wars has become almost completly collector driven making a $100 + toy every year.
I'm not asking for the Flag that's unrealistic but something like an Osprey, would be doable
Hasbro really missed out on this type of toy with the Avengers quin-jet.. wayyy to small . with the popularity of the movie and the toys the huge collectors market a made to scale Quin-jet selling in that $100 would sell.
And the mold could easily be modified and sold as a Joe vehicle etc.
